  1. QUOTE(GoRowand33 @ Jul 24, 2006 -> 03:59 PM) can't link this, but according to Tim Kurkjian the Whitesox are "extremely" close to landing Soriano for McCarthy, and that it is the perception around the league that it will happen Is this an update from earlier or the same report?
  2. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 24, 2006 -> 03:56 PM) The pen is locked up FOREVER! Cotts: FA after '09 MacDougal: FA after '09 Thornton: FA after '10 Jenks: FA after '11 WOW What about Riske?
  3. QUOTE(Felix @ Jul 24, 2006 -> 03:31 PM) I'm all for winning, but come on, I'd like to have some sort of future. we still have Broadway, McCulloch, Russell, Whisler, Harrell, Haeger, Phillips. We still have arms people.
  4. Sox Acquire MacDougal, On the Verge of Acquiring Soriano By Jason Gage Soxtalk.com Quite a hefty price. Daniel Cortes and Tyler Lumsden probably had the best two arms of staring pitchers in the Sox's minors. Levine also said KW has another move possible besides being close for Soriano.
  5. Mike McDougal for Tyler Lummy.
  6. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2528494 OH MY>.
  7. I hate this time of the year--and love it. I get so excited about stuff like this and it never comes true. Hopefully, Kurkijan is right. But not for Fields and Broadway.
  8. I just downloaded the game for mac, do I still need to get the patches or do they update the game download when patches come out, as well?
  9. Sad to say it, but Kerry Wood. When he was healthy (the few times) he was sick and it was fun to watch. Zito and Pedro.
  10. We better be trading one player who sucks for Sandy because he is not worth squat.
  11. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 22, 2006 -> 10:18 PM) Any clue what's going on with Fields? Yeah, Josh has been out the last two days. I hope is just a sore muscle and not something serious. Also, Carter needs to be promoted, he's not going to get better in rookie ball. He needs to go to low A and if he struggles, he'll need to get himself out of it. Rookie ball is just too easy. Also, LaMura is looking like a good bullpen arm. He and Lummy were teammates at Clemson.
  12. He apparently had a temper tantrum during a practice and just basically said I am done. Not sure why he did it, but it did seem strange for him to be demoted, but that is the reason.
  13. Heads, u da man, too.
  14. Thanks guys, but give a big thanks to Jas who sets up all these interviews and runs the site.
  15. http://www.futuresox.com/frontpage/modules...cle&sid=341 Check out the interview. Real nice guy. Thanks to the admin for the pin job.
  16. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Jul 20, 2006 -> 06:28 PM) Probably worst spelling right there too See what happens when u right and don't read. I did that on purpose, though.
  17. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jul 20, 2006 -> 05:44 PM) I'm pretty sure Stewart is on the radar to be the back-up next season, and is pretty likely to get called up when rosters expand, having a 3rd catcher would be nice. Obviously he's not a top prospect, but could be a solid back-up, and I doubt he would be any worse than Widger in any fase at this point. Who knows, if Widger throws out the runner on the pitchout the inning before, that's one less stressful out Contreras has to get and the next inning could have been different. It may be a stretch, but it is possible. The White Sox are one AJP injury away from being in serious trouble. A lot of teams are one injury from their catcher away from serious trouble. Catching prospects are extremely hard to find because rarely does anyone have the complete package like a Mauer or a-in-prime Pudge. Victor Martinez is not a catcher, he is horrible defensively and does not call a good game, but he hits. Hank White is incredible defensively, but can't hit a lick (except for lefties.) So, finding catching prospects is difficult. Consider ourselves lucky with Stewart. He is the consummate back-up catcher. He calls a good game, is a superior defender and hits solid. He will be a very good back-up in the league for the next decade.
  18. QUOTE(BFirebird @ Jul 20, 2006 -> 01:25 PM) Just flipped on the Cubs game during the break and there is a group of people all wearing the same red shirt right behind home plate. What possess people to do this? Yeah, I just saw that, boy is that annoying.
  19. QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Jul 20, 2006 -> 01:23 PM) Everybody beats him. nice Seinfeld Reference.
  20. If Anderson is up here, we have a much better shot at a base hit.
  21. that was like 5 pitches, nice start guys.
  22. Widger will blow this game for us, no doubt. Also, BA should be ahead of Widger in the order.
  23. I am sick of this, McCarthy needs to be in the rotation and Vaz can sit his ass down in the bullpen until he is traded.
  24. WOW. vazquez u really blow.
