QUOTE(DukeNukeEm @ Feb 6, 2006 -> 05:55 PM) Kelly Jennings? Why am I left wanting a little more? The man is good. He is one of the only guys who can stay with Moss. Practicing against him everyday is gonna help him long-term.

Dayn Perry makes another error is his newes column
QUOTE(Adam G @ Feb 6, 2006 -> 07:50 PM) I dont know who the guy is, but I know you're calling out his spelling of Japanese names and you made three errors in your thread title alone. You know what they say about people who live in glass houses. I didn't read my heading nor do I have spell check. He has all of the resources.

Super Bowl Commercials
Magic Fridge was great, so was FedEx. Budweiser did a great job overall with all of their commercials.

Witchita St./ So. ILL is such a great game. IMO, Creighton, N. Iowa, Wichita St. and Souther ILL. should all be in the dance.

And Illinois moves into sole possession of first place in the Big Ten. Although, Iowa will join as they take on Purdue tomorrow, I believe.

I got to agree, James has NBA 1st round talent. There aren't many 6-10 players that are that athetic with that kind of shooting ability. He also is strong enough to bang inside, rebound successfully and play solid D. However, James is a very smart guy, but a lot of times he loses concentration and focus and makes stupid fouls. I still think he gets taken in the late-first to early-second. ILL-INI up 12.

Who will win the last outfielder spot?
I was going to say Grieve, but I believe Borchard would be the better teammate and I just think Borch has more to play for. I also think Borch is the harder worker, has more power, switch hits and can field better.

Who will win the second lefty reliever job?
I would hope Munoz would win. Lefties don't touch him and he can work in that role and graudally take on more responsibilities.

QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Jan 29, 2006 -> 08:47 PM) Sweetney has the post moves to draw fouls and give us some much-needed scoring off of the bench. If he could lose 30 to 40 pounds, I wouldn't mind him sticking around. He is a good talent, but I think when you are that far down in Skiles' doghouse, you don't get out. I would expect him to be traded possibly at the deadline for the likes of an Al Harrington. Sweetney, one of the first round picks and Othello (just for salary purposes) would make sense for both teams. http://realgm.com/src_checktrade.php?tradeid=2874425. Atlanta is going to lose Harrington to FA anyway, so this way they get a cheap PF that just needs conditioning to be a solid role player/regular. They also get a top 10 first round pick, which they can use to rebuild. The question is for Pax, do you risk losing the pick and upgrading for only the possibility of getting into the playoffs or wait and still possibly make the playoffs, but have two first round picks and risk not getting Al in FA this summer? If I was Pax, I wouldn't do any trades, Harrington would make us better this year, but we could't beat the Pistons, Miami or Cleveland in a playoff series.

QUOTE(q\/\/3r+y @ Jan 29, 2006 -> 08:39 PM) No, not really... and for 100 reasons explained before. Well, who available is better than Harrington. Nobody. There aren't many true centers in the NBA anymore. Harrington is a PF, at 6-9 250 lbs, he is fine there. The NBA is about athletes more so than ever and if Tyson could get anyhelp scoring downlow, I have no problem with him at the 5.

The Bulls can live with Tyson at center if Harrington plays the 4. We need front court scoring and no FA can do that as well as Harrington.

The Official Soxfest Thread
Sox Fest didn't have that spark with the Kenny Williams seminar, everything was too perfect. We had nothing to criticize about this year. I thought the best seminar was the Anderson/McCarthy one. I asked Anderson who throws harder him or B-mac? He said that Brandon is the better pitcher, but he has the better arm and B-Mac knows it.

Anderson Gomes...the sleeper of all sleepers
At Sox Fest today, someone asked about Gomes and Kenny said when your not on the three year projected line-up chart, he leaves Dave Wilder (head of the Sox farm) to know about him.

bears honing in on defense in the draft?
Jerry Angelo is very inept if he believes the offense will improve a ton. We were very lucky this that our O-line remained in tact for almost all the season. We simply cannot count of Ricky Jr., a guy coming off major knee surgery and a guy who had so many nagging injuries that he didn't play a single game to make this offense improve drastically. We need a TE, a WR and O-line depth. These can be adressed cost efficiently in the draft.

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jan 25, 2006 -> 07:41 PM) Maggs was this from the BA Top 10 Prospect Chat? Also, IIRC Rogers was really hyping Salvador Sanchez at this 1 year ago, and Sanchez never got out of rookie ball (not that I'm saying he's a bad prospect). Yeah, it was from Phil's chat today and here is Phil's comment about Sanchez during last year's prospect chat. Labeling him Juan Gonzalez like is a little lofty.
