Montador seems like a good, defensive defenseman. Good to have a veteran like that. Still makes me curious though as the Hawks really need to add a puck-moving defender like Campbell was unless they really think Leddy can pick up the slack.

White Sox Sign Dunn
QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Jun 29, 2011 -> 02:42 PM) Click on the link to the actual original post... The genius part in green and the whole appendix thing, I think I made it pretty clear that it was a joke. I really hope people didn't believe I was serious.

2011-2012 NHL Thread
QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jun 29, 2011 -> 02:08 PM) Wiz's rights traded to COL. Some rumors about the Blackhawks being very interested in Jan Hejda. Also potentially TJ Oshie. Oshie would be real nice. Very talented and a solid two-way player. He would fit very well on the Hawks and only 24. Hejda seems like he would be a decent third-line defender. But he is a RFA and St. Louis has a ton of cap room. Can't imagine the Hawks would offer something St. Louis wouldn't match. And no way they let him go in-division like that.

2011-2012 OFFICIAL NBA LOCKOUT thread
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 29, 2011 -> 12:12 PM) Remember...whatever the "Max deal" is would obviously change in this situation (no team can get by with a guy on a $17 million deal if the cap is $45 million). Yeah that's very true. And obviously the league won't look like that first proposal b/c there is no way the players will agree to that.

White Sox Sign Dunn
QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Dec 3, 2010 -> 03:09 PM) Huge mistake. Dunn has the look of a bust all over him. I wouldn't be surprised to see him batting horriblly come June/July with little pop and high strikeouts. Rumors of appendix issues, too. GENIUS.

2011-2012 OFFICIAL NBA LOCKOUT thread
http://blog.mysanantonio.com/spursnation/2...owners-players/ Dear god that would be awful. Just as a reference point, the Bulls payroll for 2011-2012 is $60,726,162 for ONLY 10 players (Boozer, Deng, Rose, Noah, Korver, Brewer, Watson, Asik, Bogans and Gibson). And the Bulls have to re-sign Rose to a max deal. This is gonna be a long long long winter without any basketball.

White Sox @ Rockies, 7:40pm, WCIU
Well night all. I will eagerly check ESPN.com tomorrow morning only to see we lost this game. I actually can't recall an extra-inning game where I went to sleep before it was over to find that the Sox actually won.

2011-2012 NHL Thread
QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jun 28, 2011 -> 10:53 PM) Ehrhoff (his rights actually) was traded to NYI for a 4th round pick. Not that this means NYI will sign him (though I don't see a problem since they have a ton of cap room, unless he and his agent feels they aren't a contender, or feels he can get more money in free agency) but it was funny seeing all those Canuck fans on different boards saying they were signing all their pending FA back with ease. He's a question: Can you trade someone's rights to another team? And then re-sign him after the exclusive negotiating period is over? If legal, that would look real douchey right?

Hawk's scoreboard watching needs to stop. Until this team gets above .500, what's the point?

Ohman's been terrific since May. When used specifically as a LOOGY, he is a great asset. It's when Ozzie uses him like Thornton, s*** hits the fan.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 28, 2011 -> 11:00 PM) I can't believe how I don't get mad this year. Now frustrated, yes, but like somebody said I continue to expect us to lose each and every night. My madness stopped after the 2005 season. I used to get so pissed about the Sox and losses. They would literally wreck me inside. But after 2005, I felt so relieved. I would get frustrated with the Sox, but not crazy angry like before. The 2005 season was a metaphorical deuce.

The dead weight on this team is ridiculous. We have six guys performing just terribly: Teahen, Omar, Dunn, Rios, Pierre and Beckham. Morel is also debatable. Gonna give myself one more Sox trip to the plate before sleep. Well, hopefully we get there though I kinda wanna see Santiago.

I actually fully expect in the 12th inning that a Rockie will hit a fly ball that somehow will be intercepted by a bird, which will carry the ball over the fence for a home run.

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jun 28, 2011 -> 10:48 PM) if we get past this inning i think we win, but got a weird feeling about this 3rd out I never have confidence about the Sox winning. I assume the worst will happen, and usually it does. I so wish I had the 2005, 2006 (first half) feeling back. I felt every game was ours no matter the match up or score in 6th inning or earlier.

Why can this team ever win in extra innings? 2011: 4-7 2010: 6-10 2009: 4-6

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 28, 2011 -> 10:35 PM) Anybody finally getting frustrated? I am. Usually hits me at some point in most every game. As most of our games are close. This is maddening. My frustration with White Sox baseball reached its precipice long ago.

The dreaded leadoff walk...unless you are pitching against the White Sox. Please make em pay Paulie. NO GDIPs.

QUOTE (chimpy2121 @ Jun 28, 2011 -> 04:03 PM) Pitkanen is off the board. Re-signed for 3 years at $4.5mil per. Canes beat writer says they are moving on without Cole, LaRose and Jokinen. I would like Cole or Rosey depending on price. damn that would have been a great price to get him at. I have a bad feeling about free agency. No big moves, just small ones.

Guys that are becoming legit prospects
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 28, 2011 -> 02:45 PM) It wasn't meant to be offensive. Just hearing the numbers, that was the Sox farm hand who jumped into my mind offensively. Not much power, but very high batting average numbers. The averages are similar but Reed had much better power, better plate discipline and better speed (stole 45 bases in 2003). And look where that landed him, lol. Baseball's a crazy sport.
