  1. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 7, 2011 -> 10:48 AM) I think that Beckham & Rios are both worse than Morel and Pierre. Pierre is like our 5th best hitter right now. Morel might be the 6th best, followed by Beckham, Rios, and Dunn. I might have Morel ranked above others, but I'm basing his numbers more on what he's done the past month and a half or so. Which still isn't anything to write home about but has been good signs of development. Beckham >>> Morel. Defense relative to their position is similar (if not favoring Beckham). And hitting, it isn't close.
  2. You've got to be kidding me.
  3. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 6, 2011 -> 03:12 PM) Would the offense really be hurt that much by injecting Danks2 and Viciedo in our lineup instead of Rios and JP/Dunn? I would say De Aza over D2, personally. I think he and Viciedo could add some energy and thump, respectively.
  4. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 6, 2011 -> 03:11 PM) Beckham not having a line drive swing is one of the great mysteries surrounding the Sox the last decade. But Walker will fix it don't worry.
  5. Quentin due for his infield pop-up where he throws the bat down in disgust.
  6. Paulie 1-6 with bases loaded this year, .389 OPS.
  7. Brent Morel absolutely blows. I don't care about his great D, if his OPS is sub-.600, he doesn't belong in the Major Leagues. THREE f***ING WALKS?!!? He blows.
  8. Oh this should be fun. How will we f*** up this golden opportunity? Well we have two horrible hitters coming up right now, that's a great start.
  9. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 6, 2011 -> 02:44 PM) In 87 games, we've scored double digits in runs on 3 separate occasions. Two of those were within the first 5 games. That's cuz we don't play for big innings, this is grinder ball, remember?! Go piss on the statue.
  10. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 6, 2011 -> 02:44 PM) It wasnt puzzling. He was duped into thinking he could get Dunn for Jackson and then was surprised when he couldnt. And for those who cannot watch this game. Have you ever seen a baseball player take his first cuts in a slow pitch softball game? Thats exactly what we look like. Out on our front foot, rolling everything over. Garbage. That fact alone shows how idiotic Kenny was/is. When you have a three-team trade in the works, you have to know with 100% certainty that you can turn around the player you are initially getting.
  11. It's also amazing for as long as Santiago has been with the big club, we haven't seen him. Shows two things in my mind: the Sox want to protect him and we've been in a ton of close games.
  12. These games are so much better to watch on Gamecast. You don't get the pleasure of seeing how many BP fastballs our team is missing.
  13. QUOTE (docsox24 @ Jul 6, 2011 -> 02:30 PM) because its the players who should be fired Even though we have had this horrid offensive approach since the second half of the 2006 season? The players have changed, but the manager/hitting coach haven't.
  14. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 6, 2011 -> 02:26 PM) If the games continues without the White Sox scoring a run, would anyone argue there's been a worse White Sox game this season? I remember the last Sox game I could attend in person, it was early 2009 and Garcia started at home against the Twins and we lost 21 or 22-1 or something like that. That was entertaining because it was at least interesting to watch the offense from the other team. That was the same day Jake said no to us the first time. Wish he said no the second...
  15. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Jul 6, 2011 -> 01:01 AM) Anybody have any interesting info about Chris Shelton? He carried my fantasy baseball team for that one April and then did nothing the rest of the way.
  16. I nearly had a heart attack after reading that. Juan Pierre signed to an extension would force me to break my tv.
  17. Brandon Inge once caught Bigfoot, but felt bad for ruining people's life goals of catching him and thus, released him. True story.
  18. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jul 5, 2011 -> 08:45 PM) Almost cried when Reed was traded. Actually cried when McCarthy was traded. Tears in vain. I was pissed as hell that day. Most pissed I have ever been as a Sox fan. I loved Miggy, too.
  19. QUOTE (danman31 @ Jul 5, 2011 -> 08:36 PM) Remember when a Sweeney/Anderson/Reed outfield sounded exciting? And that's exactly my point. Man, I thought Reed was bound for stardom, at the very least a real solid everyday CF. Jeez he bombed.
  20. QUOTE (bighurt4life @ Jul 5, 2011 -> 07:36 PM) a HR, 2 2B, 1 3B, and 3 BB's since yesterday. the optimist in me is saying that he figured something out. Or is rounding back into shape. He had the looks of a real good player before just a terrible injury. I, for one, am not surprised of his struggles. You don't miss an entire year of baseball and come right back in like nothing happened. I think he has time to get the rust off, so if he hits from July on, I think he will re-establish himself as a legit prospect. It won't happen, but how cool would an OF of Walker-Thompson-Mitchell be? That range would be insane. But that will never happen, and most likely 2/3 will completely bust.
  21. Andrew Ladd got a 5-year, $22 million dollar contract extension ($4.4 million cap hit). That's A LOT of money for him. I really like him as a second-line player with solid defensive skills, but looks like a bit of an overpay. But he is young still, so he could continue to improve. Regardless, good for him. I really liked him as a player.
  22. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 5, 2011 -> 01:32 PM) Everything she did was f***ed up. Killed her kid, lied, partied, got off almost free and clear, wow. She probably won't even serve any jail time now.
  23. Why would you lie to authorities if you had nothing to hide? Horrible day.
  24. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 5, 2011 -> 01:25 PM) Alex Rios would look handsome in a Braves uniform. He somewhat resembles Dave Justice. He would look downright Carey Grant-esque. But unfortunately we will be stuck with Mr. Apathy for the next few years.
  25. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 5, 2011 -> 01:24 PM) It was mentioned in other outlets that he was just throwing a name out there because ATL needs hitting. They arent trading TCQ. Just some idiotic speculation, good to see. That would made zero sense otherwise.
