7/22 Games
QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jul 23, 2011 -> 03:04 AM) Mitchell went 4/5, 2 2B, RBI. Wilkins went 3/5, 2B, 3 RBI. Semien 1/4, HR, 2 RBI Ravelo went 2/4 Walker 3/4, 2 BB Those are huge. He won't be a legitimate leadoff hitter without a high OBP, so it's nice to see him get his walk total up.

I really respect Juan. Not only has he hit a heck of a lot better, making himself a serviceable MLB player than last month, but he is a classy dude.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 22, 2011 -> 06:32 PM) Not everything requires a detailed synopsis. It's like with Adam Dunn. The numbers speak for themselves. Mitchell has been terrible all year and has showed no signs whatsoever of improvement. You can only play the injury card to a certain degree. He's not whiffing at an Adam Dunn-like rate because of the injury. One of these days the White Sox will stop drafting football players to play baseball. Frank Thomas was an outlier. Well he missed an entire year of baseball and development because of a terrible injury. I think it's fair to say he was going to be rusty the first year. I don't believe he will be an All-Star like I thought possibly once he was drafted. But to write him off as organizational filler is inane.

Who will win the Central?
I am fairly confident the Tigers will win the division. In my opinion, it's: 50% - Tigers 30% - Indians 15% - Twins 05% - White Sox

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 22, 2011 -> 08:39 AM) ERA is a terrible way to rate guys out of the bullpen. Yeah, WHIP is probably as good as an indicator of mainstream stats.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 20, 2011 -> 09:37 PM) KC is at $36 million right now. So less than Dunn, Rios + Peavy.

We literally have no hope to throw out a runner at home with our outfield arms.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 20, 2011 -> 09:19 PM) Well, Chris Rongey said something like no matter how many games we lose before deadline, he'd rather we just go for it this year and hope for the best and not trade anyone. Well Rongey is/has never been wrong according to him, so he is clearly right.

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jul 20, 2011 -> 08:11 PM) Adam Dunn Contemplates Quitting That sounds like frustration more than anything realistic. “It’s not going to happen. Zero chance. Zero. You can’t get this competition anywhere else, dude. I don’t care where you look. Nowhere else. It’s one-on-one, dude. And you can’t find that anywhere."

QUOTE (kapzk @ Jul 20, 2011 -> 08:06 PM) How many ppl here want Dunn to retire? I do, sadly. There have been rumours swirling that if his struggles continue he will walk away from baseball. So that does mean we dont owe him the money on his remaining years of the contract. We can certainly somehow retool the roster with that money, especially 3B or sumthing I haven't seen one rumor to suggest he would walk away from baseball. Guy was too good before this year and has too much pride to walk away with his tail between his legs. Where are you reading these rumors?

Pena removed from rehab appearence
Blessing in disguise. I was seriously starting to worry the Sox were going to rely on the 1.72-WHIP-s***ty-ass pitcher for the last two months.

QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Jul 20, 2011 -> 03:19 PM) Bad overall, relative to payroll, and this isn't adjusted for how good a hitters park we have even, is it? No adjustment, and you are exactly right. We have basically hit like a mid-market baseball club payroll with a major-market payroll.
