Ozzie: Lee didn't retaliate, got shipped out
greasywheels121 replied to Al Lopez Ghost (old)'s topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jan 17, 2005 -> 11:31 AM) I don't wanna turn this into another debate on the drill Torii subject but, would Carlos going in hard really have sent the same message??? Ozzie shoulda had someone peg him, take the short suspension and send the message to the Twins that we aren't their b**** this year. I think it would have. The players would have known what message was trying to be sent there. It may have started a brawl. Oh well though; everything in this debate is what if. I liked Carlos and all, but like KW said, we never won anything with him here. -
Does anyone know if the Beltin' one Bill Melton will still be doing pre and post games for White Sox games on TV, since they switched over to CSN?

Kevin Garnett Rumor
greasywheels121 replied to Duke Of Chicago's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
QUOTE(chi-guy2 @ Jan 17, 2005 -> 10:43 AM) honestly what are you thinking, garnett is a stuck up player who only thinks of himself, would i want him in a bulls uni no, would i ever, no, would i trade curry and chandler for garnett, well the way they are playing right now no I'm not a Bulls fan, or think that you guys should get Garnett. But Garnett is far from stuck up or selfish. -
Ha I have a CD like this with just about every regular nintendo game and quite a few super nintendo games. It's good stuff.

I was just looking at the SoxFest pics on the Chisox.com website. I never realized Brooks was so young. That was the first I ever saw of him.

Twins sign former Tiger Eric Munson
greasywheels121 replied to JDsDirtySox's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
He's been a White Sox killer actually, at least in the field from what I remember. -
QUOTE(qwerty @ Jan 16, 2005 -> 08:54 PM) Everett>>>graffanino. Agreed. I would love to see Graff back here, but Everett's going to prove to be valuable, especially while Frank's out.

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Jan 16, 2005 -> 07:48 PM) Well, where's Spiff? Tom Brady is no doubt god and Payton Manning sucks big ass hotdog weiners for yet another year. Give him a few.

QUOTE(redandwhite @ Jan 16, 2005 -> 07:38 PM) what kind of a response is that? I'm not so sure what was so hard to understand about that. It appears you were trying to call me a young kid that knows s*** about sports. I'm older than you, looking a the profiles. So by your standards, you must be an infant. And your being homer, makes you know everything about sports, right?
-
QUOTE(redandwhite @ Jan 16, 2005 -> 06:53 PM) Thats what happens when 90% of the board are young kids who nothing about the sports in general. Young kid, eh? You must be an infant, if I'm a young kid to you. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Jan 16, 2005 -> 07:34 PM) Likewise. Qwerty, you asked what the f*** I was talking about. My point in case right here. :headshake

QUOTE(redandwhite @ Jan 16, 2005 -> 07:32 PM) Green Bay, Jaxsonville, Kansas City, Houston, and Baltimore are all horrible teams. San Diego's a solid football team, and I would say the same for Minnesota had they been anywhat consistent this season. Well you gave me something to laugh about after this. Thanks.
-
QUOTE(redandwhite @ Jan 16, 2005 -> 07:28 PM) They played one good team all regular season, that team being the Patriots in week one. The Patriots are in another league compared to the Colts. Green Bay, JAX, KC, Minnesota, Houston, Baltimore, and San Diego are all horrible teams. :headshake

Congrats NE.

Wiscy has now won 38 straight at home, wow. -
QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Jan 16, 2005 -> 02:38 PM) Eagles f***ed up big time. They have 10 seconds, no timeouts and they throw it short of the end zone & over the middle. Time ticks off & half ends. That's the only reason the Vikings still might have a shot in this game. Philly should be up 21 or 17 right now.

QUOTE(whitesoxfan56789 @ Jan 16, 2005 -> 01:13 PM) http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb...layer_id=340392 Go to his Photo Gallary and look at the last one Timo suddenly looks like a porn star.

We surpassed 2003's attendance and attendance really dropped off in August and September this year. If we're playing well and just dominating, or in a tight race....people will be there.
-
I think I'd gladly take Graff back. We know what we're getting with this guy. He was great in Chicago.

QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Jan 16, 2005 -> 11:55 AM) Looks as if the weather has taken a turn for the worse. There is now a Winter Storm Advisory issued beginning at 4pm Eastern time with snow and 10-20 mph winds. Snow accumulation is not expected until tonight, but it could begin before the end of the game. Temps are still expected to be in the low 30's, but the weather combined with a frozen field may make things tougher for the Colts. Either way, I expect a great game. The Pats aren't used to playing on this ice field either. If people are watching Countdown, they'll know what I'm talking about. The playing field's definitely equal on this one.
-
QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Jan 16, 2005 -> 11:20 AM) I don't know too many Hoosier fans that are optimistic unless they are praying for the firing of Mike Davis, which will happen despite some miracle in the next month and a half. We'll see. As Bilas and O'Brien were saying, the selection committee would really see us as an 8-6 team rather than a 7-7 team at the moment (the Charlotte game). If we make the tourney somehow, I think Davis will still be here.

Who is the best player on the Sox
greasywheels121 replied to Southside hitmen's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jan 16, 2005 -> 08:34 AM) I'd seriously doubt that. Even if the Sox don't pick up his $10 or $11 million option, I think Thomas can pick up his own $13 million option for 2006, he definitely won't get that kind of money elsewhere. Could impact on Konerko negotiations as well. I think the Sox can work this out. I really think Frank feels that he has it pretty good here, and might re-negotiate his contract a bit. -
Matt Leinart will return to USC for his SR year:
greasywheels121 replied to CSF's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
QUOTE(backman @ Jan 16, 2005 -> 12:27 AM) the guy has his whole team back, it simple for him, he wants to stay in school and play with a team that makes it easy for him, instead of going to the draft and ending up with a team were he could end up sitting on the sidlines all year, he would rather stay in school , get his degree, play a system of football that would allow him to have fun and set a record for most national championships in a row possibly back to back heismen winner. also he wants to finsh school in case he is a bust, he needs something to fall back on aka his degree. I remember ESPN saying that he'll be getting his degree this May.
