QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 31, 2007 -> 10:43 PM) Cool...but those of us stuck around them non-stop at work, it's hell right now. They're not going anywhere in October, if they even get there.

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jul 31, 2007 -> 10:40 PM) I could give less than two s***s about the Cubs. Exactly. I don't know why people are worrying about them.

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jul 31, 2007 -> 05:51 PM) Jefferson and 2 1st rounders is a whole lot of something, especially considering Jefferson might have better numbers than Garnett this season. There are not enough shots to go around in Boston, and ESPN is hyping them up so damn much right now. Garnett, Allen, and Pierce aren't necessarily young either. Allen is 32 and missed 27 games last year, Pierce will turn 30 this season, and Garnett is 31 with 12 years in the league already. Rondo is more of a scorer/slasher then a distributer, and Perkins is about as unproven as anyone. They will be good, and they will be contenders, but people are going to be a bit disappointed. Look at the Nuggets, who had the 2 top scorers in the NBA and the DPOY.... That Nuggets team would be insane in the East.

QUOTE(Wanne @ Jul 31, 2007 -> 04:59 PM) Typical Soxtalk household diaries...... Her Diary Tonight I thought he was acting weird. We had made plans to meet at a bar to have a drink. I was shopping with my friends all day long, so I thought he was upset at the fact that I was a bit late, but he made no comment. Conversation wasn't flowing so I suggested that we go somewhere quiet so we could talk, he agreed but he kept quiet and absent. I asked him what was wrong - he said, "Nothing." I asked him if it was my fault that he was upset. He said it had nothing to do with me and not to worry. On the way home I told him that I loved him, he simply smiled and kept driving. I can't explain his behavior; I don't know why he didn't say, "I love you, too." When we got home I felt as if I had lost him, as if he wanted nothing to do with me anymore. He just sat there and watched T.V.; he seemed distant and absent. Finally I decided to go to bed. About 10 minutes later he came to bed and to my surprise he responded to my caress and we made love, but I still felt that he was distracted and his thoughts were somewhere else. I decided that I could not take it anymore, so I decided to confront him with the situation but he had fallen asleep. I started crying and cried until I too fell asleep. I don't know what to do. I'm almost sure that his thoughts are with someone else. My life is a disaster. HIS DIARY Today Kenny is pushing this team further into the abyss and made another worthless trade, but at least I got laid. -

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Jul 31, 2007 -> 04:42 PM) Does anyone know what happened to Mackowiak in two years that his value declined from a lefthanded reliever with previous seasons of domination to a high A, 23 year old reliever? It sure wasn't due to poor performance. For everyone who says, "what did you expect," well, I expect more than this. Someone should find the Mackowiak/Marte thread from several years ago and browse through it. I'm sure people were saying, "Marte is a headcase," "Mackowiak is the best utilityman in the league" and other assorted excuses. Another quesiton I have is how exactly the trades of Iguchi and Mackowiak have helped this team prepare for the future? Sure, Richar is now given an extended look at second base, but I'm refering to the value of both players. Garland needed to go. We needed an influx of talent. Williams failed, plain and simple. He should be embarrased with himself. I want to hear him talk to the media and explain how this team has improved entering next season. The only way we're acquiring talent is with a high draft pick at this point. And even there I'm scared we'll f*** it up. http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?sh...=44133&st=0 and http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=44151 -
QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jul 31, 2007 -> 04:28 PM) Last year he was one year less old and we traded Damaso Marte, a lefty reliever for him. We were all ecstatic and believed we were selling Marte at/after his peak too.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 31, 2007 -> 03:44 PM) New guesses from me: Nathan Culp or Aaron Breit. I don't know anything about these guys except for the fact that they are tall and thin, KW loves that s***. John Madden is actually tall and thin also but he's f***ing 24 years old in high A. Screw that. They used to play the MNF song for John Madden when I worked for the Wizards last year; he was quality. But I wouldn't want him. -

QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Jul 31, 2007 -> 02:29 PM) that would be amazing. Did Zach Braff sound more nasaly this last season or was it me? Bust a move.......... I think part of it was the way they kind of changed the way they do the narrations. It seems like they used to kind of have an echo (as if they were recorded in a cave or something ). But not so much anymore...
