Hello SOXTALK.COM

Harry Potter Thread
It's awesome. Also, as I was watching the movies I was telling my friend that I couldn't imagine this stuff being pulled off in a book. And now that I've read this one, it's the other way around. I have no idea how they can condense the story into less than 3 hours and portray this stuff into movies.

Harry Potter Thread
So I've read the 6th book now, and I'm pumped about the 7th. This story's amazing. That was the first book I've read in the series. My friend was saying how they start out slow and get much better. And at the time, I was a little less than halfway through the book completely enjoying the story and everything. However, everything completely intensifies later on. It was great. I've got some interesting theories on some characters and what can happen now, but they'd probably be considered spoilers.

RIP Old FUR thread. One of the most underrated threads on the site.

Mark Cuban + Chicago Cubs =
QUOTE(Brian @ Jul 13, 2007 -> 05:21 PM) Cuban gonna bring his experience of being the owner of a team that wins championships? All you need is his money (which is limitless), and there's no cap in baseball.

Brian, FWIW, that was the 5th movie, the book coming out next week is the 7th.

As someone that's only seen the movies up to this point, this was my favorite one yet. I really liked the darkness of the story. I plan on borrowing the 6th book to get caught up with the story and then eventually the 7th.

Dan Patrick Leaving ESPN
Supposedly Mike Tirico's name is being thrown around to replace DP at ESPN Radio. That could be decent.

HR Derby
QUOTE(ChWRoCk2 @ Jul 9, 2007 -> 10:59 PM) If it wasnt for Ortiz giving him the bat he would have lost. The kayakers had to be disappointed very few splashes. Next year in New York it should be fun, Arod will prolly do it. I'd be surprised to see ARod do it, Pods has a better shot at winning that. ARod has a horrible history in these.

Considering the site crashed as I was trying to read this, I'll say do it.

Dan Patrick Leaving ESPN
QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ Jul 9, 2007 -> 04:20 PM) He mentioned on his show he was asked to audition for "The Price Is Right", wonder if he got it (although I imagine that would be heavily rumored) I've read that he was offered an audition and declined.

SSR: Who Stays and Who Goes
I agree. I don't really get any kind of sports radio here, so it's sweet hearing a whole show devoted to my favorite team. I love these things.

Would anyone be opposed to us starting a new Recruiting Thread? This one's really been bogging down. We'll post a link to this one at the start of the new one.

Harry Potter Thread
I just saw the first four movies for the first time in June, and I enjoyed them immensely. I plan on seeing the fifth sometime soon (probably this week), and then I will be borrowing a friend's copy of the sixth book and eventually the seventh. I know it's not the best way to follow this story, but I'm having fun w/ it anyways.
