  1. I'm posting this before it's over, but it's a shame that Nadal had this leg injury act up. The first half of this match was incredible, going back and forth. However, in this fifth set, Federer has remembered who he was and Nadal has gotten timid at the end, requiring Federer to just win one more game to win his fifth consecutive Wimbledon. And there it is--#5. Congrats to Roger Federer.
  2. QUOTE(quickman @ Jul 8, 2007 -> 09:06 AM) The sox released Frank Thomas the best player in their history. Nothing happened, attendance went up and on paper they were a better team. If you still loved the sox after Thomas why would you blink at the buerhle situtation. I'm one of the biggest Frank fans ever, and I've got to say those two situations are incomparable. Regardless what Frank has done/will do since leaving the Sox, he's at the end of his career and his skills aren't what they used to be. His ankle was too risky to depend on, despite his two infield singles last night. On the other hand, Buehrle's no where near the end of his career, and his numbers back that claim up. Hence, there's definitely plenty of reason to blink at the Buehrle situation, if we don't re-sign him or get an impressive haul in return for trading him.
  3. Also, we encourage all Big Ten and college sports fans to join the site, as we get things rolling again. As we do with all of our sites, we do registrations manually. So please be patient with the validation of your account, as we will take care of it ASAP.
  4. Pathetic by the Sox if the ESPN line is true. Thanks for everything, Mark. Best of luck where ever you end up.
  5. Sweetness, giving the people what they want. I'll be listening to both shows when I get back to BTown this weekend.
  6. QUOTE(IowaSoxFan @ Jul 5, 2007 -> 09:14 AM) If we get Kemp for Buerhle, trade Mark and then give him his no trade once he is a free agent at the end of the season, and give up your second round pick to re-sign him. I can't see there being anyway Buehrle returns to the Sox, if we trade him. And at the small chance that would happen, there's no way we'd get him for as cheap as they're going now.
  7. QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Jul 3, 2007 -> 11:42 PM) 430 views and only a few posts... Gager you might be in danger of getting the ax if the ratings don't improve I want to listen to this, but I'm at home for the week. So I'm not on long enough to hear it in a sitting. I'll be trying to check this one out on Saturday, even if something happens in the next couple days to make the show dated.
  8. QUOTE(robinventura23 @ Jul 1, 2007 -> 06:55 PM) Congrats, Bobby! Mark didn't make it, because he won't be with the team by the All-Star Game. That shouldn't effect anything. Carl Everett made the All-Star team as a Ranger in 2003, but he was wearing a Sox uniform by the time the game happened.
  9. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jun 25, 2007 -> 12:50 PM) Kobayashi will not be at the hot dog eating contest on July 4th. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 26, 2007 -> 11:12 AM) AKA he's afraid of that guy that broke his record a couple weeks ago. What a pity, I hope I'm wrong and there is a better reason for it. http://sports.aol.com/fanhouse/2007/06/30/...fourth-of-july/ He'll be there after all.
  10. The only comparable thing is when Rod Carew hit his 3000th hit on the same day Tom Seaver got his 300th win.
  11. QUOTE(Wedge @ Jun 29, 2007 -> 01:29 PM) If WGN is trying to put Bozo's Circus back on the air, I have candidate #1: I got a nice chuckle out of that.
  12. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Jun 29, 2007 -> 12:35 PM) --BUZZZZZ-- Wrong answer. Nobody's impressed with the baseless conjecturing on Collective Bargaining Agreements. If you are fluent in the Major League Baseball Players Association bylaws, then, by all means, let your voices be heard. If you are fluent in collective bargaining matters and how it might relate to a specific Buehrle hang-up, again, fire away. If not, take it elsewhere. http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...tesox-headlines
  13. The latest information is always included in the title and subtitle of this thread.
  14. The first video is classic. The second video was good before and after the sock. Also, though he's still obnoxious--Stephen A. was pretty entertaining last night and spot on a few things.
  15. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 29, 2007 -> 11:13 AM) Konerko did not take less money. (near the bottom of the page. Konerko's deal still looks great, and we lucked out that the market didn't blow up until after that deal was signed.
  16. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jun 29, 2007 -> 09:39 AM) Raines, probably. Raines does have big SB numbers though. I want to go w/ Tony Phillips.
  17. Deadspin's live blog: "Noah. . YOU LOOK LIKE EVERY SINGLE BATMAN VILLAIN ROLLED UP INTO ONE."
  18. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2007 @ Jun 29, 2007 -> 02:10 AM) It was almost like time stopped when he came to bat. Remember that Jordan commercial "Frozen Moment"? Everybody just stopped whatever they were doing when they saw Mike on the TV. I felt the exact same way about Frank. Especially during the years of 1991-1994. They have that Frank commercial doing the same thing on the bottom of the video links on the right. http://toronto.bluejays.mlb.com/mlb/events...as500/index.jsp
  19. Heads loves Biggio. Congrats to Craigary.
