After getting a birdie on the first hole of the playoff and never looking back, Harrington wins the 2007 Open Championship. Great job bouncing back from that disastrous 72nd.- 2007 Flying Under the Radar
And the golfer formerly known as the Waggler (Sergio) misses the par putt on the 72nd, which would have given him his first major championship. So we're going to a playoff. Harrington has his shot at redemption.- 2007 Flying Under the Radar

BOOOOOOOOO. I turned the TV on literally when Bonds was up to bat, so I wasn't sure if I was being cut away from the Sox game or getting the Brewers game. And it turns out that I'm getting the Brewers game.- 2007 Post ASB MLB Catch-All Thread

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jul 20, 2007 -> 02:35 PM) Wasnt Joey Crawford mysteriously taken off the playoffs ref crew this year? Not really mysterious--he did have that unnecessary fallout with Tim Duncan.- Off-Season NBA Thread
QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jul 19, 2007 -> 08:10 PM) Maybe I'm the only one, but I'm more of a fan of having separate NBA and NHL threads. Agreed. And it shall be done; go ahead and start an NHL thread. This can be the NBA thread, since there's been no hockey posted.- BBQ Ribs

LOL Mario at the collective ass question. It’s too bad we don’t have Shaq’s movie alter egos on hand. Kazaam and Steel would have us in first getting ready for the playoffs. Agreed about Masset; he’s definitely a starter and was just going to continue to rot as a reliever. Big dap to Buehrle—I’m really happy to have that done. And regardless what happens with the rest of the year, I feel much better about our future with him being a part of it. I hope the signing doesn’t prompt the trading of Garland and Vazquez; however, I really at the least want to build around Buehrle, Garland, and Danks. I side with Mario on Garland being more valuable in a trade and on the market. I understand the ages of Vaz and Garland plays into that; however, I like Garland’s consistency and the durability he’s shown for the Sox. And I agree with Gage that I highly doubt Garland will be re-signing with the Sox, as he’ll be too expensive, which is unfortunate. I hope that we get young. I agree that we need to be progressing for the 2009 and 2010 seasons. It usually has been such in the past, but I hope these KW quotes about standing pat are just unnecessary bluffs. If Rowand gets $9-10M/year, I hope we’re not the ones signing him. I agree that $6-7M would be acceptable, but I’m leery of going over that unless it’s incentive-laden. Strong ending with the threats to KW and the message to JR. I’m leery about firing KW, but his head probably will need to roll if we stand pat. Glad the site and SSR’s back; good stuff this week guys.- White Sox vs. Red Sox, 7/19/07 (W)

QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Jul 19, 2007 -> 05:30 PM) Don't think that hasn't crossed my mind about it being a sham version I'm reading. But if it is it's pretty darn good and somebody took an awful lot of time to write 659 pages to scam folks on the web. At any rate I'll know if I've been duped at 12:01 on Saturday when I pick up my legit copies at Barnes and Noble. I thought the book was 784 pages. I could be wrong though, as I'm newly entrenched into this story. However, I'm trying to avoid reading even news articles on the book until I get to finally read it (which is after my friend who's buying it the night of).- Timo's Back
