2007 MLB Catch-All Thread
QUOTE(Beltin @ Jul 9, 2007 -> 11:54 AM) Anyone notice this? http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...tesox-headlines I am not sure MLB should take such a hard stance, but on the other hand, who is going to cry for ESPN? It's nice to see a league not bow down to the self-proclaimed WWL.

KW says Sox in "Buyer's Mode"
You guys obviously didn't see him talk at the Future's game. He basically was saying the same thing, but when he said we're in buyer's mode--it was for the future.

Javy Vazquez.....now what do we do??
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 8, 2007 -> 09:47 PM) If the Sox can find a way to ink Garland to an extension then I'd have no problem with Vazquez being dealt but if Garland is going to be traded sometime soon or walks after '08 I think Vazquez needs to stick around as the #2 starter. So I guess this is pretty simple from my standpoint. Garland Extended = Trade Vazquez (if there's a GREAT offer out there) Garland Traded = Vazquez Stays Agreed. You've got to have one of those guys around, if we want to keep some stability with this eventual position-rebuild/reload we're about to begin.

Phillies/Rockies Rain Delay
Now the Phillies will have to wait until after the break to get their 10,000th loss.

Thanks, Mark
He's been responsible for the two greatest moments of the 2007 season: Today with the resigning and of course the no-hitter.

The Official "Manny Being Manny" Thread
Ah apologies. I didn't pay much attention to that thing this year, it was nice not having to slave in front of the computer to get one of our guys in this season.

I'd like him on the team, but not for the contract he'll be able to pull on the FA market.

SSR: Who Stays and Who Goes
It’s good to be listening to the show again; it’s been awhile since I’ve been able to catch one of these. The bullpen has definitely been pathetic, and they’ve killed a lot of games for us this season. It is hard to believe that we were in contention for the first couple months, but the bullpen has blown leads and increased deficits way too many times this season. I agree that the Sox should probably look into trading Jenks, if we’re going to enter a rebuilding phase. There isn’t much reason to keep him around, if we’re not expected to contend for the next couple of years. We might as well cash in on Jenks, while he can and his stock his high. Our bullpen is full of talent, I do agree with that statement. It’s weird how this compilation hasn’t worked out as a whole, and if we can get something for arms like Aardsma and MacDougal, I’m all for it. ROOGY. Dye’s definitely the guy we’ve got to be pulling for the most, if we’re expecting a solid return from him. He’s been having a lackluster year, and as Mario pointed out, his defense has been on the decline. However though it’s not there right now, he’s still got the capability to be a force on offense. Again, congrats on the dap from Bugs and Crank. That’s really solid. And the listeners of this show are the 100 smartest people on the board. Boo Heads shoutout. Good to hear about the depth that’s been built with the pitching in the farm. Great show guys, and nice sign-off Gage.

Andy Roddick
I'm posting this before it's over, but it's a shame that Nadal had this leg injury act up. The first half of this match was incredible, going back and forth. However, in this fifth set, Federer has remembered who he was and Nadal has gotten timid at the end, requiring Federer to just win one more game to win his fifth consecutive Wimbledon. And there it is--#5. Congrats to Roger Federer.
