  1. Next year's class is pretty weak; Raines does have a good chance of getting in on the first ballot.
  2. Kind of cool. http://houston.astros.mlb.com/news/article...sp&c_id=hou
  3. I really like the track "Stare at the Sun" by them.
  4. My only guess is that your settings may have been bumped somewhere. FWIW, here's what my settings look like under Tools>>Options>>Privacy Tab: They're probably just the defaults; I don't remember if I've changed anything or not. However, I haven't experienced any of these problems with those as my settings.
  5. QUOTE(CanOfCorn @ Aug 15, 2007 -> 01:12 PM) So instead of ripping on Weber for his misses...which up until now I didn't want to do...I wanted to ask a question to the board... Does anyone know why Weber is losing these guys? Is he not a good closer? Is he being too honest? Meaning, he won't promise playing time or is trying to be clean and not offering "other" things? Or is it just a string of bad luck? Did you read the stuff 2008 G Lewis Jackson was saying about his recruiting tactics? http://www.herald-review.com/articles/2007...all/1025436.txt
  6. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Aug 15, 2007 -> 09:57 AM) Is anybody else getting to the point where they HATE seeing the name "Aaron Rowand" on these boards...in the paper...everywhere that the White Sox are mentioned? I am just soooo sick of that friggin' guy, and I even like him. But man, can we just get over it all???
  7. QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Aug 14, 2007 -> 11:00 PM) Damn kids. No respect, no knowledge of history. Yeah, I went THERE. Were you thinking of the Seinfeld episode instead?
  8. Booo Heads. Though Pods is only 31, he just scares me too much to trust him with anyone. His strength is his speed, and he still has that when he’s healthy. However, he’s slowly turning into a body of glass, and I don’t want to have anything to do with that. And I’m the furthest thing from a Pods hater on this site. I agree about the idea of having Crede back at 3B, if we can get him back healthy. I like the idea of moving Fields somewhere else in the field, and trying to plug up another hole. As Alex said, it has nothing to do with Crede being better than Fields or vice versa, it’s just that we’d be better off having both of them on the field, if at all possible. And Jenks has been nothing but fantabulous this year. If Count dies, we know why…:glares at Heads: As I said in the previous post, I have no problem giving Dye three years, but nothing more. I also want to see what Sweeney can do, hopefully he gets that chance next season, if we don’t fill our OF outside of the organization. I’m ready to give up on Uribe also. I love his glove, but his bat is beyond unbearable at this point. I’m glad Heads brought up Gage’s thoughts on Erstad. He touched on it in the last show that Erstad was falling out of favor with him. However, we never got to hear his thoughts on that. I know not everyone loves him, but I love DJ. I haven’t gotten to experience the greatness of Stone; however, I know I’d love it. He’s always a great listen for games. Now that’s a bold statement, to say Egbert will be in the rotation next year. It’d be interesting to see something like that; it’d definitely surprise a lot of Sox fans. LMAO, about Gage and the articles on FS. Bruce Bowen shout out. That singing was incredible Gage, and the random listing of players was quite comedic as well. Ahahahaha, GOALLLLLLLLLLLLL. What an ending. And thanks for the shoutout.
  9. Listening to the first show. That’s quite impressive that you had to do the whole show over the phone. It is pretty disappointing that we didn’t make any moves. I’m totally not against keeping Dye, but I don’t want to sign him to four years. I do agree that if we do lock him up again, there has to be a plan to move PK or Thome very soon after. I kind of like the point of saving some money and putting it into the draft, because we do handcuff ourselves a bit by not signing the most talented players by trying to save a couple bucks. However, as Mario points out, it’s still a bit of a crapshoot. I also do like the idea of having better scouts and coaches to develop the players we draft. Great debate between the two of you. On to show numero dos…
  10. I can't see him not going to Purdue with that schedule of visits.
  11. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Aug 14, 2007 -> 05:34 PM) Of Billy Madison fame. That's immediately what I thought of too.

  13. This man loves to play. It's crazy to think he was playing for the Sox 13 years ago.
  14. QUOTE(DrunkBomber @ Aug 12, 2007 -> 09:16 PM) I saw that on Hard Knocks, that was hilarious. Was that guy a monster in HS or what? Oh yeah, if there was a such thing as JACKED UP! for HS, they could've made a movie for every one of his hits. He was a pretty solid basketball player too; I wasn't sure which he was going to play in college. He's obviously made the right choice. Bernard's such a cool guy too; I've seen him a few times since he's gotten drafted and he still remembers everyone's names and everything. Also, I love bragging that he's signed my yearbook.
  15. Hahahah...I went to HS w/ BP. http://sports.aol.com/fanhouse/2007/08/12/...ike-a-stripper/
  16. Hooray for getting to do the honors. Tiger wins the PGA Championship for the 4th time and his 13th career major. 5 behind Jack.
  17. And hopefully history repeats itself, b/c Mr. Woods is 7-0 in majors when he owns the lead at end of the 2nd round.
  18. QUOTE(whitesoxin' @ Aug 9, 2007 -> 02:00 AM) Accounting (MW) The Computer in Business (MW) Finite Mathematics (MWF) Thinking and Reasoning aka Philosophy (TuThF) Psychology (MWF) Microeconomics (TuTh) Going to be a freshman. Business major at IU-Bloomington. I've taken all of those except Philosophy--who are your profs?
  19. QUOTE(whitesoxin' @ Aug 10, 2007 -> 11:46 AM) Yeah after my junior year I was pretty set on going to DePaul but after visiting their School of Commerce I changed my mind. I couldn't turn down the quality of a Kelley School education. I'll be living in Read. I'm excited about that because it's close to Mother Bear's pizza and there are many cafeterias inside Read. Good deal. Read's a pretty good location. Shoot me a PM or w/e, if you ever have a question about anything here--I should be able to help you out.
