Went to the Warthogs game on Saturday
MurcieOne replied to Hideaway Lights's topic in FutureSox Board
The 'Hogs stadium is really very endearing, we took in a couple of games back in '03. If u went there, i assume you got a hot dog with some "slaw" on it.... all those carolinians put cole slaw on their hot dogs... -
I hope the colorado series sparked something
MurcieOne replied to drowninginflame's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Hitting wise... yes we had a good series. Pitching wise...yes we had a good series Defense wise... bad Base running wise... bad the latter two were supposed to be two parts of the foundation of this team. We played ok, but im hoping for better overall play against better competition. -

Im actually really glad this thread was posted... I thought i was alone in my lincoln park community.... The weirdest thing being I've been at my buddy's place on Burling and Wrightwood countless numbers of times playing beer pong and all those other fun drinking games. Really is a small world.

QUOTE(Wong & Owens @ Jun 1, 2005 -> 03:21 PM) You college kids can't appreciate fine Mexican cuisine.........like the yummy treats found at El Presidente at Wrightwood and either Southport or Ashland, I forget. Well to be fair.... one of my best friends i heir to the Taco Burrito House Fortune and he hooks me up with free food there on a weekly basis... so im biased. However, i've had alot of the mexican food in the area and i still perfer TBH. Art of Pizza? I've never had the pleasure... im gonna have to try that pizza soon.

QUOTE(Wong & Owens @ Jun 1, 2005 -> 03:17 PM) Taco Burrito House Sucks. Is Branko's still on Fullerton across the street from the quad? That place was pretty good for wieners too. DePaul Alumnus, 1996. Taco Burrito House does not suck, and yeah Branko's is still around - although their overpriced.... as is much of the food around DePaul.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jun 1, 2005 -> 03:15 PM) Love salt n pepper, went there all the time when i worked at Grand Central across the street. I think its all about taco burrito express on halsted, best ever. Tomato Head isn't a bad alternative if ur looking for some good pizza in the area..... however, it pails in comparison to Lou Malnati's on Lincoln. Oh and by the way Kelly's is the best bar in the Lincoln Park realm.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jun 1, 2005 -> 02:50 PM) If you ever get a chance, up the street is a place i used to live right by called Hoagie Hut, the food there is just awesome, great spicy fries and the burgers are good too. Their best sandwich is the grilled chicken with cheese and bacon, marvelous. Salt N' Peppers is awesome as well..... Also for great Mexican Food - dont go to Alendes' it's all about Taco Burrito House on Fullerton and Clybourn

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jun 1, 2005 -> 03:11 PM) about 100 feet from my apt, im on burling and wrightwood. A couple of my fraternity brothers live on Burling and Wrightwood, small world.

The Adventures of Onterrio Smith
MurcieOne replied to knightni's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
These cartoons are rarely funny or original..... and this wasnt one of the few times. Bad. Only remotely funny thing is Ricky Williams telling the Joint to "punch it chewie" a reference from Episode IV and yes i've just exposed my inner nerd. -
He has Eddie Murray as a hitting coach as well, thats really puzzling to me, as he's been regarded as one of the best in the league.

Brandon McCarthy ML debut game thread vs Cubs
MurcieOne replied to southsider2k5's topic in 2005 Season in Review
I have a feeling Brandon is gonna wear 40 tomorrow..... it was his number all of last year in the minors, and his number this year (15) is taken by Tadie.... The last pitcher to wear 40 for the sox.... Mr. Parque, lets hope Bmac's career has a better story than jimmy's did EDIT: just remembered Fatolo Colon wore 40 for the sox in 2003 -
We all knew that the Duke was gonna miss time this year..... he's gonna miss 2 starts or so.... and it wont be the only time this year he's gonna do it. That being said.... I like McCarthy's chances on Sunday to keep us in the ball game, if we can get into the Cubs pen and the game is still in reach.... i like our chances.
