  1. According to Adrian Wojnarowski: Yao Ming has informed the Rockets that he is retiring from the NBA source: http://twitter.com/#!/WojYahooNBA/stat...383420307841025
  2. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jul 5, 2011 -> 09:57 PM) Only 25, nearly had 60 points last year, defensive stud who is a terrific PK guy and can play on the PP, a captain and has 2 stanley cup rings already on his resume.. I'd say that contract was a steal, especially with what is being handed out on the FA market. Hell, don't be surprised when you see what Sharp gets next off-season. I just can't believe that Andrew Ladd is only 25. Wow, seems like Ladder has been in the league for a pretty long time. Would have guessed he was closer to 30.
  3. I would have traded Sharpie for Heatley EDIT: Actually not. I think this team has purged too many of its core guys. Sharpie is a voice in the locker room and his offensive/defensive performance has remained consistent. Sharpie is also a big time cutie.
  4. Joe Cowley is lacks appreciable logic, baseball understanding, writes poorly and seems determined to assume the "heel" role in the Chicago sports scene. When you read his column, the terrorists win.
  5. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jun 30, 2011 -> 12:00 AM) Take this with a gigantic, humungous grain of salt, but Ekland said: "Then I was told Chicago...who has been very quiet after freeing up money with the Campbell trade, was suddenly part of not only the Parise rumor, but possibly was putting an offer sheet together for Stamkos." Either of these would be absolutely insane. Pfffffft. I just can't see that happening.
  6. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 28, 2011 -> 09:54 PM) Think Amy Winehouse Figured. I have a real problem with Bernstein putting this out there with ABSOLUTELY ZERO corroborating evidence. That is pretty bunk.
  7. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jun 25, 2011 -> 11:42 AM) Really wouldn't mind Ben Eager back, too. Was great for the Hawks as a fourth-line winger who was talented enough to play on the third. But was never afraid to drop the gloves. I couldn't agree more. I think the Hawks missed the Eager-Beaver more than people realize. There are few players in the league that can match Eager's mix of grit and surprising skill level. He's a really valuable on a team where he isn't asked to be something he's not.
  8. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 10:37 PM) Today was simply huge. I don't think that's an overstatement. Basically were looking at keeping Sharp, Campoli (possibly) and acquiring Richards and other complimentary players. This was a huge night.
  9. Today is the day we begin laying the new foundation for our next Stanley Cup. Atta boy Stanely.
  10. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 02:04 PM) Anyone thinking that Mirotic is going to be any good is being kinda silly. I think his best-case scenario is Ersan Ilyasova. I love it when you analyze, Stone Pony.
  11. http://abclocal.go.com/kgo/livenow?id=8193381 LIVE STREAM OF CANUCK FANS RIOTING!!!! CAR FLIPPED OVER. BURNING.
  12. 4-0 loss in game seven, at home. Really really embarrassing. Bobby Lu simply cannot handle the pressure.
  13. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 15, 2011 -> 12:59 PM) Except Green Bay has around 200k people and the greater Vancouver area has 2 million. Vancouver is a really, really nice place. Their hockey team is full of d-bags though.
  14. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 13, 2011 -> 01:49 PM) I could live with it too...but the problem is...how to you make it happen? Is a sign-and-trade with Orlando a possibility? It seems possible if they know Howard is leaving and they think Noah + Boozer/Taj have value?
  15. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Jun 13, 2011 -> 01:34 PM) Dwight Howard says that he won't sign a contract extension and will become a free agent in 2012 Is there any way Gar/Pax can make this happen? Seriously. Please? Dwight seems to have a soft-spot for "fast don't lie" despite the fact that he has swatted him around like a fly in past meetings.
  16. Ben Wallace > Babe Ruth. I agree with someone who posted earlier. Impossible and futile to compare players from different eras, with different rules, different training methods.
  17. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Jun 12, 2011 -> 11:40 PM) The only guy I can really think of besides Pat Riley taking over is Rick Adelman, but at his age, is he going to want to deal with that headache? It would be a Phil Jackson move to take over this team. If not next year, but the following year (if the Heat can't win the title next year).
  18. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 12, 2011 -> 11:36 PM) Fair enough. I guess I was just blasting Pippen for his idiotic comments a couple weeks ago. I'd have much more respect for him if he would just come out and say he was jealous of MJ. I don't think anybody would blame him. Though I really do think he was a tad overrated. I think Pip was actually a tad underrated. But I am not convinced that Pip made those statements out of jealously of MJ. I think Pip said LeBron "MIGHT be better" because he was coming off of watching him play in Chicago during the ECF. LeBron was a BEAST during game 5 and throughout the series. I think he was inflating a little bit and ended up putting his foot in his mouth (because Jordan > everyone).
  19. QUOTE (T R U @ Jun 12, 2011 -> 11:30 PM) No worries, they'll be back.. appreciate your sympathy though But they won't be back for game 7. . . because they lost. . . the championship.
  20. Mark Cuban just dropped "our fans just punked the s*** outta Heat fans" I think you're going to owe the NBA some money after that one. Still worth it.
  21. I can't help myself, this is pretty satisfying. I still really dislike that team.
  22. QUOTE (buhbuhburrrrlz @ May 26, 2011 -> 09:56 PM) boggling why thibs has resisted playing Thomas. He can knock down the open shot. More than that, he isn't scared to be on the floor. I have seen our guys play with too much indecision at times this series. Granted, the Heat are the best close out team I have seen but our boys look a little too timid out there at times.
  23. I think Brewer has as many (if not more) 3's this series than Korver.
