  1. awesome job Matt, 2 scoreless innings and looking strong in doing it
  2. AHHH!!! come on Matt, let's end the Nick Puto legend before it grows
  3. QUOTE (Jimbo's Drinker @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 12:47 PM) I just worry Swisher is too worried about getting on base, he is a good power and contact hitter also. In the leadoff spot he is, ideally is what we just saw in this game. He came up with a guy on 2nd and he drove him in later in the game, but was on base for Thome earlier
  4. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 12:43 PM) I posted this in the blog thread. I also think Quintin should be batting second right now or even lead-off. With Cabrera hitting 9th. Come on Joe. I have no problem with Swisher leading off as the team is now, I think CQ in 2 is the way to go as well. Swisher has scored 19 runs and walked 22 times. He isn't hitting for average or SLG, but he is contributing
  5. QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 12:42 PM) Come on Joe, an insurance run would be nice here lol, or the lead run!! Geez, it's only wed!!
  6. QUOTE (Soxpranos @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 12:38 PM) Agreed, but he would need a nice bat to protect him at the 4th spot. I actually think Swisher at the 2 hole is better suited for him, with Quentin behind him then Thome. Well, "my realistic with trade" lineup would be: Roberts Swisher Thome Konerko Dye CQ Crede A.J. OC Pipe dream, I know, but I guess possible!! With that 1-2-3 clicking they would drive the pitch count up for the starters quickly
  7. Hopefully Thorton will be in to face Nick "Lew Ford" Punto
  8. sweet 1-2-3 by Thorton, nice job. didn't through a ton of pitches, should have another one in him!!
  9. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 01:35 PM) I'd believe it. Masset hits 94 when he's got his stuff, which he did. And Thornton has hit 98 before, albeit rarely. could be the controlled weather too, Sox haven't had many decent days to play yet
  10. QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 01:34 PM) I think he's always been lefty, I could be wrong though. I think you're right, it would be insane to have 2 great hitting switch hitting catchers in the same division
  11. QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 01:32 PM) Quentin would be the optimal 2nd hitter right now. Swisher Quentin Thome Konerko Dye Pierzynski Crede Cabrera Uribe I've thought of that too, especially if Thome, Dye or Konerko or hot, he might be SLG a little high now to do that
  12. Was Mauer a switch hitter when he first came up, or has he always been a leftie only?
  13. awesome Swisher!! The fact that his OPS + has been hovering around average all year is amazing, it shows you what taking 22 walks and scoring 19 runs can do!
  14. there you go Juan, he usually has a week or two where he puts up numbers, hopefully he will do it this week, the offense needs it
  15. I think the thing that has disturbed me most, and please if anyone else heard it or I'm stating it wrong, please correct me, but about a week ago Hawk said he was talking to Walker and Walker said he thought you would see the teams walks go down. Basically like he was hoping it would, like the walks are a bad thing. Now I know he said he thought walks would go down, but I may be reading too much into it.
  16. QUOTE (daa84 @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 01:09 PM) i dont know, but either way its 2008, why the hell are they still playing on this damn carpet I think on the broadcast last night they said 2010
  17. damnit, 3-2, well, those mythological twins, right Ozzie, not much you can do to beat them!!!
  18. oops, infield single, I'm sure more rhetoric about how awesome Nick Punto is from The Hawk.... bunt here and everyone would be safe
