  1. OK, Crede doubled, come on, let's score him
  2. damnit, Swish is struggling. I think he might be getting Bill Hall'd with his position change
  3. Watch Gardenheir (sp?) have Slowey on the world's shortest leash (as he should)
  4. come on, hopefully that will build some momentum!
  5. it's so sad that a pitcher gives up 2 runs in 5 innings and it would be a minor miracle for the Sox to come back
  6. and Matt Tolbert drives in a run with 2 outs, damn it
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ May 8, 2008 -> 01:15 PM) But who would be on for Quentin? Hell, but Thome in the 2nd spot. Swisher was 2nd in the league in walks entering the week. He has struggled with avg. and slg, but he was still drawing walks, stick him in the 2 hole
  8. 9th place hitter with a single, now top of the order, Gomez should bunt, it wo uld be bases loaded
  9. I'm watching this on the computer, but it said Thome grounded out on a 89 MPH FB in the middle of the plate
  10. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ May 8, 2008 -> 01:01 PM) The idea that I thought was that he let's guys decide how they want to approach hitting and then works with them as the back of their baseball card tells you what you need to know. I am not certain he actually works on a philosophy. Ramirez nice play, good job Danks too bad your going to be f***ed any time now by the "offense". My guess would be his philosophy is get into a hitters count and lay on the hitters pitch. They always are agressive on 3-1, 2-0, 2-1, etc. Like if a pitcher goes 3-0 and he throws a complete get me over to get to 3-1, it seems they are hacking at everything thrown up there. Unfortunately the scouts picked up on this and exploit it just my guess, I have zero idea what Walker's philosophy actually is
  11. awesome job by Danks to pitch around the leadoff single. Retires Monroe, still 0-0 going to bottom 4
  12. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ May 8, 2008 -> 12:54 PM) Well if the announcers know whats coming, and know whats happening. Either the players are retarded, or the coaches are not preparing them. Maybe we can have them bring a Radio into the dugout, so they can get some insight on whats going to happen. I'm not saying Farmer or Stone are right or wrong, I just know I've seen this team, save a week or two week stretch here and there, have the same awful approach over and over
  13. The Indians have sat Hafner for at least 2 days in a row now. I know the Sox bench isn't the deepest, but sitting PK/Dye/Thome wouldn't be the worst idea. Let BA get in there
  14. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ May 8, 2008 -> 12:50 PM) Steve Stone " Slowley is going to start Uribe off with a fastball away." Farmer " Are you calling pitches for him" Stone "Well you would figure that they would start discussing patterns on the bench." Yeah I've listened to a number of games on the radio and Farmer and Stone are doing their critiques of the club by veiling it like that, ie what should be coming, what should be done. They have been a great listen
  15. Well, Toby got the out on the basebaths, good job
  16. QUOTE (G&T @ May 8, 2008 -> 01:43 PM) Yeah, it's not talent, and it's not ability. For 2 years every single pitcher in baseball has thrown nothing but off speed pitches on the outer half and for 2 years nobody in the lineup can hit it and everyone looks baffled by it. Absolutely amazing. I'll give you that some of the vetrans are regressing, but the absolute look of confusion that comes over their faces like they've never seen this game plan just absolutely drives me insane
  17. anyone have the pleasure of watching the game? Can Hawk even spin Slowey yet? He did an awesome job with Livan and his career ERA + of 100
  18. lol, Slowey is just mowing them down... unreal I know nothing about scouting, but wouldn't advance scouts have a hard time scouting pitchers against the Sox? I mean you can throw anything up there at this point
  19. QUOTE (fathom @ May 8, 2008 -> 01:38 PM) How can you not hit 87 mph fastballs right down the plate? I think the Sox vetrans mind set at the plate is so messed up that they're not taking good swings at anything
  20. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 8, 2008 -> 01:33 PM) Haha! Farmio: "I don't know if they respect the arm of Toby Hall yet." Sure about that?? I saw Piazza isn't with anyone, but then I just looked it up, and from what I can see he hasn't caught since '06. Would be nice to have him on the bench for Thome when the LOGY is lurking
