awesome, betancourt is in, now we can here hawk and dj talk about how he magically finds his control against the sox and you can ignore the ERA, completely oblivious that he doesn't walk many, he pitches soft to the outside, which most other teams kill and the sox wet themselves

Hard to be negative with the recent success, but Betancourt's performance and Hawk and DJ's commentary in it drove me nuts last night. Betancourt has a high ERA, gives up tons of hits, but doesn't walk very many people. Hawk and DJ tell us to ignore the high ERA because against the Sox he has pinpoint control, oblivious to the fact that even though his ERA is high he gives up more hits than IP (1.50 WHIP even after last night) but doesn't walk very many people. So, Betancourt goes on to implement the gameplan every mediocre pitcher who has success against the Sox does, he throws junk to the outside half of the plate and the Sox try to yank it, either whiffing or pulling it on the ground. Hawk and DJ just go on to say how he is magic against the Sox completely ignoring that he probably pitches a very similar way to every team, but other teams take his pitches to the opposite field for hits.

Penn will have trouble finding any competition in 155 at this point unless UFC signs JZ Calvancante or Aoki. Awesome to see the old Wand back tonight, as deep as the UFC 205 is, he makes it that much more exciting I loved the Machida fight. As boring as the first two rounds were, the 3rd round was great. Ortiz will still have a name, but he is not a top ten 205er. He had no chance against Machida tonight. (yes, I saw the potential sub he had, but the triangle wasn't deep enough and arm bar was at a bad angle). Ortiz will pop a huge rating or buy rate for another org though. Overall a very good PPV, Relij (sp?) looked good too.
