QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 14, 2008 -> 03:46 PM) I think that would push it to 100% though... The only WV coverage I saw yesterday was a brief udate on ABC at 7:00 p.m. Basically Russert said the only thing WV could do is stop the flow of super delegates to Hill, if in the next week or two super delegates are still going to Obama, then it is even more over now thanit was before

QUOTE (kwolf68 @ May 13, 2008 -> 11:27 PM) The guy sucks in the field. He always has. He's not even a good right-fielder, he's an even worse CF. Toss in a .207 average, no speed and the fact we gutted our minor leagues for him and it's not going to be a shock that a lot of people arent on his bandwagon. He's just a character guy...he grinds, he had shaggy hair, he is a good interview on the Rome show, he donates toys to kids...but can he play elite CF? Hell no. The guys OPS+ the last 2 years were 125 and 127. I'll agree that the trade is questionable after resigning Dye, but I don't think anyone expected CQ to have the start he had. OK, maybe he can't field, but he's more than the grinders they've rolled through here in the last few years (Erstad), he has been a legitimate hitter the last two years

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ May 12, 2008 -> 01:04 PM) And now, CNN agrees, Obama takes the lead. I think we can call it official now. With the super delegate lead now gone, even with WV coming tomorrow and Clinton expected to rout there, she can only really be relying on Obama falling flat on his face.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 12, 2008 -> 07:45 AM) Anyone else not get their payment when they were supposed to? I got mine last week. I had direct deposit for my return and got my payment that way

Steve Phillips must be smoking some good stuff!

QUOTE (hawksfan61 @ May 9, 2008 -> 10:12 AM) Its easy to assume that he is the one that made that trade given all of his other idiotic moves, it just seems like it has Phillips written all over it. His time on ESPN may be more embarassing than anything at this point, between stuff like this and his hysterical fake GM press conferences, we should just all be thankful that he is around to give us another dolt to laugh at. that was epically bad. I hope firejoemorgan.com unleashes on this -
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 9, 2008 -> 08:48 AM) 3.99 at the BP a couple blocks from my house. yeah, it sucks. Of course I have a ridiculous amount of driving to do today. Villa Park to Crystal Lake to Wrigley to Woodstock to Villa Park.... awesome.

QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ May 8, 2008 -> 11:08 PM) They have a theater like this in Woodridge. Ive been there a few times (believe it or not) They actually have waiters that get you food and drinks in the theater and most of the seats are at tables or desks almost. They have $11 pitchers of long islands specials and stuff too. Its an interesting idea, just doesnt seem to work very well. Its good for first dates though... Hollywood BLVD I've been there a few times, but it's been awhile. I think initially their policy was 21 and over all the time, and then they softened that, I assume for $$ purposes. I loved it when it was only 21 and over. They still had 21+ times, I think after 6 or something like that. I'm not the biggest fan of kids and it was great to be able to go to dinner and movie and not have them there. http://www.atriptothemovies.com/index.php?...k=Ticket_Prices there's the policy now, seems similar to Dave & Busters. Maybe I'm wrong that it was stricter in the past, I only went when it was first opened, so maybe the word hadn't got out and it just wasn't overall very crowded It wasn't good for movies you wanted to get lost in. However I found for silly comedies and popcorn type movies it was a fun experience

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ May 9, 2008 -> 09:19 AM) George "Clinton Suck-up" Stephanopoulos said Obama had the superdelegate lead which is inaccurate. Edit: Well, ABC says their version of the Superdelegate count has Obama ahead... ABC OBAMA 267 CLINTON 265 Yeah, he was on ABC this morning during the segment, so it seems like ABC is trying to break the story.

I thought this thread was going to be about those "Bike" shorts gym teachers usually wear

QUOTE (Benchwarmerjim @ May 8, 2008 -> 11:33 PM) that was crazy. the ball was not even coming towards him. I would guess at least a 5 game suspension. You cant throw your helmet at a dude Sexson's HR agains the Cubs in AZ when he was with the D'Backs was insane. He hit it so high off that centerfield wall. It was one of the most memorable HRs that I've seen as it happened as far as power goes, obviously PK and Pods hit a couple that were more memorable, that I've seen. It's right up there with one Canseco hit in Milwaukee when he was with the Sox

http://www.baseball-reference.com/l/lillyte01.shtml His career ERA + is 101. Granted that's skewed slighlty by his bad start this year, but he had a career high ERA+ of 122 last year. He still is a consistent pitcher and likely will end up around his career averages, which would mean he will be better the rest of the year

maybe i was hearing/seeing things this morning because I was in a rush, but I swear ABC had a story at the top of the hour, actually more than a story they had the "breaking news" label on it, that Obama took over the superdelgate lead. Was I just half hearing the story that he's narrowing in? I haven't seen anything on the net about it

I agree with charges for this

QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ May 8, 2008 -> 10:03 PM) According to my dad he heard a rumor on the radio that the sox might trade CQ for griffey jr. He claims it even came out of Kennys mouth. So whos the idiot my dad or KW for even thinking about this. there's a thread in the Diamond Club that has ESPN's Steve Phillips proposing this trade in a magazine article. I imagine that is where this was coming from

QUOTE (GoSox05 @ May 8, 2008 -> 04:35 PM) I think Swisher needs a game off. He's high energy, but you can tell he needs a breather. playing CF basically full time now is a major change too. A day off would do him some good. Also, with his patience at the plate and being a switch hitter, he would be a good guy for a pinch hit role in a tight game

QUOTE (WhiteSoxfan1986 @ May 8, 2008 -> 03:18 PM) Huge series win. We luck out in not having to face Bedard and Hernandez this weekend. Great series to take from the Twins. Also looks like no Santana in the Angels series, he has been sick this year
