  1. I hope MacDougal just blows the guy away. No wild pitches. No sawed off BS hits. and please for the love of God, no HOME RUNS!!!
  2. QUOTE($I Need Money$ @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 06:23 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> fish yeah beach I prefer to fish at a lake over a beach.
  3. Wow. That wasn't even fishing close. I mean, that looked like a Uribe SB attempt.
  4. QUOTE(Cerbaho-WG @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 06:09 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Oh give me a break. Ozzie was the benficiary of a very good team and received a lot of lucky breaks. Are you honestly telling me that Ozzie has a goddamn clue when it comes to his bullpen? Wait..wait...wait. Are you saying you don't think the 2005 White Sox were as good as they appeared? Do you think they were the best team last year?
  5. God I thought that was gone. Please go fishing Bmac
  6. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 05:57 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> This is turning out to be a f***ed up inning. hmmm fish fishing f***er f***ed motherfisher motherf***
  7. QUOTE(Reddy @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 05:47 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> now bmac's gonna take heat for letting those runs score... fish you ozzie As well as he should. It's Bmac's job to not allow those runners to score.
  8. QUOTE(Brian @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 04:59 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> LOL @ Ortiz. Didnt we almost trade for him? Yeah in late June of 2004. He was the NL pitcher of the month in July going 5-0 with a 1 something ERA IIRC. There was also talk of trading Carlos Lee for him before the 2002 or 2003 season IIRC.
  9. You think pissed off Orioles fans are always making sarcastic remarks like "MAZZONE WILL FIX HIM?"
  10. Nail in the coffin. Poor kid. He should've been on the 2004 White Sox.
  11. fishing groundrule double. That ball was hangning like crazy
  12. Did Bustah just say the Red Sox called the White Sox an offered Coco Crisp to the White Sox for a starting pitcher? I thought the Red Sox loved Coco? I thought the Red Sox had the deepest starting pitching in the league?
  13. I couldn't help but notice how Cleveland got its only run in their 1-0 victory over the Mariners. It was a solo homer by Choo, who was just traded to the Indians by the Mariners.
  14. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Jul 28, 2006 -> 09:37 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Iguchi fired Moss, and I suspect he has a clause in his contract like Contreras had that make him exempt from the reserve/arbitration process, essentially becoming a FA if he isn't resigned quickly following next season. I thought we have an option for Gooch in 2007.
  15. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 04:17 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> To think we actually had people on this board wanting KW to trade Contreras to Houston for Taveras and a middle reliever. And that was AFTER the World Series. http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=44962 Lots of gems in this thread: QUOTE(WCSox @ Dec 31, 2005 -> 11:36 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Taveras his something like .290 and stole over 30 bases last year... and plays a very solid CF. That's pretty far from a "scrub." QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Dec 31, 2005 -> 01:52 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I don't think anyone's automatically assuming. You are automatically assuming Taveras will be better in 2006 than he was in 2005, and you're automatically assuming he will outperform Anderson by so much its worth trading a #1 pitcher for him. That's not silly, its insane. QUOTE(Cerbaho-WG @ Dec 31, 2005 -> 02:25 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'm dead serious here, do you huff gas before watching baseball? Pierre and Damon are atrocious center fielders and Sammy does not by any stretch of the imagination have a cannon for an arm. QUOTE(WCSox @ Dec 31, 2005 -> 02:41 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I disagree. Pierre's base-stealing prowess and higher OBP win more games. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Dec 31, 2005 -> 03:05 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If Brian Anderson can't put up a .666 OPS next season to match Willy Taveras's .666 OPS in 2005, I will eat my own pubic hairs. I'm more concerned with Anderson playing solid defense in center field and from most accounts he does.
  16. I forget where I saw the rumor, but supposedly the D'Backs were interested in Jake Westbrook. You think they'd be interested in Garcia?
  17. QUOTE(iamshack @ Jul 27, 2006 -> 09:18 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I am not going to defend Podsednik anymore....but for all the pieces of spiff there are to criticize on this team, Scottie takes an extraordinarily disproportionate amount of criticism around here. ITS OLD. What in the blue hell are you talking about? The Pods hate has only really been going on since the All-Star break and during the beginning of the season when he was batting under .050 Freddy has been ripped apart all season long. Vazquez has been ripped since late May Garland was torned apart all season long up until this pas couple of weeks. Politte and Widger have (thankfully) been released. IMO, the only guy who isn't getting the criticism he deserves right now is Mark Buehrle. (Not saying he isn't getting any, just not a fair ammount compared to Garcia, Vazquez and the other two bums we ran out of town.)
  18. QUOTE(chisoxfan14 @ Jul 27, 2006 -> 12:17 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Get rid of Pods!!! WHAT!? are you kidding me!? Please let's never say that again!!!!!!! Jimenez, Harris, Widger, Podsednik. Hmm, I'm starting to like this trend with crappy Sox players you love.
  19. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 08:33 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Freddy Garcia will be pitching Friday. Damn it. He sure sucked last time out there! I was looking at Macdougal's stats, and man, he is an insane groundball pitcher in addition to his career 8.33 K/9.
  20. But he's a "proven" .290 hitter like Mike Caruso!!!
  21. Remember all that talk about the production the Indians were getting from that first base platoon? Now both Eduardo Perez and Broussard have been traded to the M's.
  22. QUOTE(Steff @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 04:26 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Look at your avatar for a reminder.
  23. QUOTE(GoSox05 @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 04:09 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah but how long before we start to see big gaps of empty seats? Who gives a fish about attendance? This team has bigger fish to fry.
