  1. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jul 14, 2006 -> 01:26 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I could care less if a newspaper in Chicago covers the Sox. All that should matter to the real fans is that trophy. If you could care less, why don't you? I'm interested in the Cubs only because I want to see the scraps Jim Hungry gets for all the guys he'll be shipping off.
  2. Get a loan through your local bank or credit union and have on of your parents co-sign it with you. When I was trying to get my Corvette a few months ago, the dealership wouldn't do a loan (and I think it was an outrageous 11%) even though I had a great credit score. My mom always latched onto my accounts, and even though I had a credit card and paid it off on time, I still didn't have much credit.
  3. QUOTE(Butter Parque @ Jul 17, 2006 -> 12:12 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> he probably would only cost a id-level prospect. ...and why is that? Because he's cheap, talented and plays within the division??? Oh wait a minute.
  4. QUOTE(vandy125 @ Jul 17, 2006 -> 08:30 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Photoshop job? I think that would be a pretty easy one to do. Find the original one for me. Until I see further evidence, I think he's ignorant trash.
  5. QUOTE(StrangeSox @ Jul 17, 2006 -> 02:37 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I would buy a used car, a few years old, maybe coming off a lease. Let someone else absorb that massive deprectiation hit from driving a new car off the lot. ...not to mention insurance is higher on new cars.
  6. QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ Jul 16, 2006 -> 10:36 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> As much as I want the adopt the Rally Anderson, its hard to ignore the power of the Rally Crede. I'm on board. No "rally Abe Vigoda?" Seriously though, that was one of my favorite avatars
  7. Crede is soooo 2005. It's Anderson's turn.
  8. QUOTE(Jake @ Jul 16, 2006 -> 07:49 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Can someone explain to me why Soxtalk has so much confidence in Vasquez? Never heard of the guy Javier Vazquez has always had a low whip, and great K/BB. Why does he have a .500 record (which to some means nothing) and a 4.5-5 ERA? It's because he gives up hits in bunches. The guy is capable of shutting teams down and striking out 10 in an 8 inning performance. On the flip side, he can also go .2 innings giving up 7 runs. I rather have a guy like that over a guy who pretty much goes only 6 innings, gives up 3-6 runs an outing, and having similar overall numbers in terms of W-L and ERA. Cooper has his hands full this second half.
  9. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Jul 16, 2006 -> 11:04 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Can we please get an official language for this country?
  10. ....and the lowest BA on the Sox team belongs to.... Chris Widger DFA please
  11. QUOTE(Frankensteiner @ Jul 16, 2006 -> 02:37 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That really is the only good sign of the weekend. Verlander still looks strong though and Bonderman will be real good for the 2nd half. Maybe Robertson, Miner, and Rogers can come back down to earth. Rogers is already well on his way, Miner, who knows, but I always of Robertson as being a tough lefty. I never knew the Sox drafted him until farmer pointed it out last series.
  12. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 16, 2006 -> 02:31 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I think the opposite....he put us in a huge hole rather early in this game. He's just lucky he's buddies with Ozzie....95 pct of MLB starters would have been pulled in the 4th inning. ...and our bullpen would've been tacked to hell with a big series in Detroit coming up. His first inning act, along with Buehrle is beyond annoying. Let him warm up much longer before the game even if it means he can't get into the 7th.
  13. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jul 16, 2006 -> 02:26 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Fields pulled from the Charlotte game for a pinch runner. Wonder if he was traded.... The windmill at my local minature golf course was taken down. I wonder it it's been traded to the Sox to become the new third base coach.
  14. QUOTE(POPPY_HIDALGO @ Jul 16, 2006 -> 02:10 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> This team really needs to start playing better baseball or else that record is just going to keep getting worse. Those arms are dead tired and I can't see them getting better anytime soon. Evryone is playing like s***. Keep losing and you get closer and closer to that .500 mark. Oh and if you haven't figuered it out yet. The Tigers aren't going anywhere. You certainly fell off the bandwagon, how was that last pitch a strike?
  15. QUOTE(sircaffey @ Jul 16, 2006 -> 02:07 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Fresh arms needed...Get these tired ass has-beens off the mound. So says the guy who wants Nomo. :rolly :rolly
  16. So close! God that was bad. Have we thrown anyone out like that?
  17. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jul 16, 2006 -> 01:45 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I wonder if BMac will throw today....it might be telling if he doesn't. I love it when Heads speculates Anyone else think of Zelda 64 with the guy who sells the magic beans when they showed Riske warming up? Bobby Jenks was sitting in a chair take little bites out of something.
  18. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jul 16, 2006 -> 12:32 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Freddy's a big game pitcher Yeah, that 1-0 shutout in the World Series game clincher wasn't a big deal. Or that clincher in 2005. Nothing special about game 3 of the ALDS
  19. QUOTE(Frankensteiner @ Jul 16, 2006 -> 12:31 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yet some people still think that's not enough of a return. What is Gordon, 38? He's signed a 3 year deal worth $18 million. That's a huge gamble for teams to take on.
  20. Jeez, that was in the same f***ing spot. Does anyone think Ozzie or someone talks to Freddy about his first inning nonsense?
  21. Jeez, 24 for his last 56? We caught him at the wrong time.
  22. Wow, I wonder who he tried shopping Garcia to.
