Holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering and I think when he proposed to his wife he dressed up in a mascot outfit.

I will go on record as saying that Gio doesn't ever become any better then a 5th starter... and he'll be out of baseball by the time he's 30, either by injury or just disappointment... -Jeckle

Duh. That's exactly my point. Aside from the two main characters acting as annoying 10 year olds, the rest of the cast was just filler from the movies I mentioned previously or from TV shows. There were plenty of times where I said to myself "hey, I think that guy was on (fill in the blank) TV show."

Horatio Sanz, Phil Lamarr, The guy who does the Budweiser commercials, Matt Walsh, Gillian Vigman, Ian Roberts, and Brian Huskey That's quite a collection of ex-SNL/MadTV/Upright Citizen Brigade, and if the adult actor wasn't in that, it was a good chance they were previously in Knocked Up/ 40 Year Old Virgin/Walk Hard.
-
Absolutely. I didn't like that film that much as it was what 40 year old virgin thankfully wasn't. I'm certainly not someone with soft ears, but the curvise language was really annoying. To me it was just another comedy with a bunch of sketch show castoffs that will eventually be played on Comedy Central over, and over, and over, again.

They even edited a poster's post of an e-mail from his ticket rep.

Why not move Thome to first and Manny to DH?
-
Ah s***, I just noticed Thursday's game is a night game. I won't be going to that.
-
how about he picked up his couch cushions and found another $.50 allowing them to acquire Roy Halladay.

Minneapolis is directly north of me, and KC is directly south. The GF and I are going up to Minny together and the hotel was about $120 a night. She's going to pick up the gas tab and the tickets are free thanks to a contact in the Twins organization. Tuesday afternoon I'm going to Apple Valley to see The Dark Knight at the IMAX. Some of my family members are going to meet me back at my place Thursday night, and then we're headed south when my roommate gets off work around 3:00. For hotel, gas and tickets, it's about $250 a person.

I'm going to all 7 games this week. Anything really worth going out of the way for in the Twin Cities and KC?
-
Agreed completely. It's worse on other sites, but I'm not sure why people think Swish Nickowiack's previous two offensive seasons would be good enough to make him the first baseman of the future. His OPS was lower than Konerko's last year.
-
but, but, but he has such good STUFF!
-
Nothing. They both suck. Why in the world are you evaluating a leadoff hitter on OPS+ and RBI's?
-
Former gold glove winner, "baseball player" (not my words,) came from the Angels, the GM had an eye on both of them for a long time, similar hitting style, similar offensive results. Why is that so silly? They're both free swinging hackers whose defense is overrated. The only difference is Erstad is supposedly one of the best guys in the clubhouse and Cabrera has picked fights in the dugout, called the press box, and pubically talked crap about another MLB player that he has a rivalry with (Renteria)
-
If you can do basic math you can see Cabrera is beating Erstad by a whopping 31 points. That's not worth the price we paid to get him Cabrera has 44 RBI's in 411 at-bats Erstad had 21 RBI's in 182 at-bats at the time.
-
"I don't care." OPS By Month: Apr: .563 May: .678 June: .874 July: .597 June, not April, appears to be the outlier. Send OC back to the OC
-
Darin Erstad 7/26/07: .264/.311/.341 Orlando Cabrera 7/26/08: .268/.328/.355 To think, all we gave up was a starting pitcher and $8 million for this selfish player. If the Sox can get something at the deadline that they feel can help them more this year than the possibility of two draft picks (I'm hoping and assuming Cabrera rejects an arbitration offer,) I say they go for it.
-
Defensive metrics are shaky at best, and Cabrera was brutal back in April. Did Cabrera call any of the statiticians to adjust some of those numbers?
-
You just can't get over former Angels, can you? Wasn't the same bulls*** said about one of your faves from last year? Erstad.
-
Exactly. Let's not forget he's still out of options.
-
That movie came out more than 9 months ago, won a ton of awards, was released on DVD 5 months ago, and has had a TON of talk about it. I think that's fair game to discuss without having to use spoiler tags.

Clearly it was Dayton's fault for getting beaned three times in the inning, including one to the head.
