I go to 15-20 games a year; as many as my work schedule/budget will allow. It would be nice to know that the team is dedicated to fielding a consistantly competitive team...but they are not! Why should I as a life long (31 years) Sox fan shell out hard earned money for a mediocre, non-competitive team. Don't fall for JR's bulls***! Be realistic, we're not as good as the Yankees, RedSox, A's, Mariners, Angels, and/or Twins; anyone of them would beat the Sox in a playoff series. Since Reinsdorf won't spend the money to make the Sox a SERIOUS contender, nor will he sell the team to someone who will, what choice do the Sox have but to rebuild?

Then...IF we get in the playoffs, we get pounded in the 1st Round...then we lose Nomar to free agency, and get NOTHING for him. That's why you trade him for young pitchers/prospects, and REBUILD!

We cannot hold on to Maggs or Nomar, then get nothing for them when they leave as free agents!

Keeping Nomar makes absolutely NO sense! His offense will not match that of Magglio, based on how Nomar hits outside of Fenway. He has made 45 errors over the past two years, AND, HIS CONTRACT EXPIRES AT THE END OF THE SEASON!!! JR and KW will NEVER re-sign Nomar...I thought "rent-a-player" died with Bill Veeck! If we get Nomar, we HAVE to trade him!

David Weathers sucks! We don't want/need him. He couldn't even pitch for the sCrUBS or the Mets, why anyone would think he'd be sucessfull elsewhere is beyond me. No cubs rejects, please!!!

USA Today Baseball Weekly said that David Weathers was taken out of trade consideration (for Koch) because Weathers in Tom Glavine's golf buddy, and Glavine requested that Weathers not be traded. No big deal, Weathers sucked with the Cubs, we don't need any of their rejects. :fthecubs

IF we make this deal for Nomar, (and I wouldn't do it if the plan is to not trade Nomar!), we should insist on Izturis (sp.?) as part of the trade. i.e. Perez, Izturis, and one of the prospects. (Evans doesn't want to give up Mota). Or trade Nomar to the Angels for Erstad and Percival. We can't get Nomar and expect him to be happy here, we'll never re-sign him anyway, so trading him is the ONLY option. (Are you reading this KW and JR???)
