QUOTE(Texsox @ Jan 26, 2007 -> 06:54 PM) Right they should "do something" as long as it isn't being critical of anyone. Yeah, they should shut their traps and get their own house in order.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jan 25, 2007 -> 09:00 PM) Do you really think Israel would launch a war with an unprovoked nuclear strike? The Isrealies will do whatever is necessary to protect their homeland and people. When they say "never again" they mean it. If they're going down they will go down swinging. -
QUOTE(Texsox @ Jan 24, 2007 -> 08:21 PM) I am wondering why anyone would attack someone for speaking out against child abuse. I can see justification in criticizing an organization for not speaking out, but for speaking out? Are you worried it will hurt sex offender's feelings? Trouble is, they're not speaking out about actual child abuse ( no children were harmed in the making of this movie ) but against a depiction of it.

QUOTE(Reddy @ Jan 24, 2007 -> 06:27 PM) right but how often is it in the 50s/60s in december in chicago i mean honestly... i'd call that mild If I remember my reading correctly it was 60 something the day before the big blizzard in 1967. While abnormal it does happen sometimes.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jan 24, 2007 -> 11:00 AM) Um, North Korea's test by most accounts wasn't a successful test. So does that mean they're going to throw up their hands and quit? What they know already serves as another stepping stone to having a viable nuclear weapon. -
QUOTE(Texsox @ Jan 24, 2007 -> 06:48 PM) Is the Catholic Church, or anyone for that matter denouncing this "entertainment" a good or bad thing? Perhaps if you can explain how silence would help children, I can see your point. My big thing here is that I'm a firm believer in having your own ducks in a row before being critical of someone else. How can an outfit that allowed similar behavior to go on for decades all of a sudden pipe up against a movie while the real thing is going on within its own ranks.

QUOTE(Reddy @ Jan 23, 2007 -> 11:56 PM) chicago has been much milder this winter - in other places it's been much more severe than normal. its just bizarre fluxuation accross the board. It's been mild compared to other places but rather seasonal in its own right, at least since the 1st of the year.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jan 22, 2007 -> 11:39 AM) Just so everyone understands....El Nino ≠ global warming, and odd effects in any specific year, especially during years controlled by other climatic processes, do not prove or disprove anthropogenic climate change. What effect does El Nino have exactly and why? I remember there were a few years in the 90s where El Nino was cited as the cause for milder than average winters and now it's causing colder weather? Im just a bit confused here.

QUOTE(Rex Kicka** @ Jan 23, 2007 -> 04:47 PM) Hell bent on lying to destroy you? That could adequately describe us from their point of view. We used clearly wrong justifications to invade Iran's next door neighbor.... Whether you think they are whack jobs or not, a state that acts responsibly negotiates with other states to advance its interests. Reagan may have called the Soviet Union the "Evil Empire" but they still negotiated frequently. What could we hope to gain from negotiating with Iran? Their Islamofascist government is sponsoring terrorism, fueling sectarian strife in Iraq, threatening to destroy Isreal, and involved in a crash program to develop atomic arms. Their leader is a certified madman. The remainder of their government is full of radical clerics who rule not from reason but from a well worn copy of the Koran (and you people complain about Bush being too religous). The only effect trying to talk to them will have is to give them more time to build their nukes. As grave a threat as Soviet Russia was at least they could be reasoned with. These Islamofascist savages are intent on fulfilling their own version of the apocalypse and by us sitting on our hands hemming and hawing about "diplomacy" we're allowing them time to develop the means to do it. Diplomacy has about a 1 in 100 chance of working. I fear the only thing between Iran and nuclear weapons would be another Osarik style raid on their nuclear installations. If we dont do it, you can bet your ass the Isrealies will. -
QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jan 22, 2007 -> 09:15 PM) http://www.cnn.com/2007/LAW/01/22/vodka.juror.ap/index.html Wow. This lady had to have her husband come pick her up after she was dismissed, im surprised they didnt notice what she was drinking until after she was smashed. Reminds me of the Runaway Jury movie where the woman got tossed for having Jim Beam in the jury room.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jan 23, 2007 -> 08:11 PM) So, in SOTU drinking games, how many drinks does one take when the President brings up Dikembe Mutumbo? Thats a 12 pack right there...........and you have till the end of the speech to finish it. Penalty for not doing it is 3 kicks in the ass and you're new name is "f**" for the rest of the week.

http://www.cnn.com/SHOWBIZ/blogs/marquee/index.html Seems people are unnerved at this new movie which depicts the rape of a minor. I just found delicious irony in the fact that the Catholic Church is all up in arms about a depiction of such an attack when it has turned a blind eye to and obstructed probes of ACTUAL attacks by its own priests.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jan 23, 2007 -> 05:02 PM) When you suck because of surgery 2 years in a row, it's no longer an excuse; you've gone from being a player who didn't perform because of injury to being injury-prone. Erstad is also injury prone.

QUOTE(tigerfan @ Jan 23, 2007 -> 02:38 AM) Press Your Luck was a great 80's show too. I LOVED Press Your Luck. I still watch the old reruns sometimes when it's on the Gameshow channel.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Jan 22, 2007 -> 10:26 PM) Hey, one year I was on both lists Personal opinion, while I will proudly wear a liberal title, I would not wear a Hugo Chavez title. Frankly I'm a little disappointed at that description. Yeah.........and Pat Robertson?! What's that about? He's not a conservative, he's a straight up loon. I move that we rename the political awards Ronald Reagan for Conservatives and JFK for Liberals. -
I gotta hand it to Reggie Bush though. His little stunt where he pointed at Urlacher and then did a flip in the end zone fired up the Bears D again just when they had us on our heels.

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jan 21, 2007 -> 10:06 PM) And dont forget the other one, where he was actually in the endzone with noone covering him. Caldwell left 14 points on the field in a crucial time of the game. I wonder if Brady is missing Deion Branch right now? Yup. I forgot about that one. Caldwell is probably out looking for a bridge to jump off of right about now. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jan 21, 2007 -> 09:36 PM) I'm going to put the Bears at 8 point underdogs right off the bat. I wish that were really the case. Id put money on Bears and the over. -
QUOTE(mr_genius @ Jan 21, 2007 -> 09:30 PM) most of the US news media have no journalist integrity. political agendas trump accurate news. Those political agendas usually involve saying anything they can to discredit the President ( even to the point of fabricating damaging information ). Their agendas also follow strict politically correct guidelines that preclude them from exposing these savages for what they really are.

QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jan 21, 2007 -> 09:21 PM) I can't believe Reche Caldwell's two drops. Including the one where nobody was covering him at all and he could have run in for a TD. That cost em the game right there. -
QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jan 18, 2007 -> 08:47 PM) I watched this all the way through. Its very disturbing. Its funny, how these organizations are the spokepersons for the UK for religious tolerance, and openness yet behind the doors when the public is out they are preaching death to non-islam and the creation of an islamic britain under sharia law. And its not just one or 2 mosques. Its a bunch of the "moderate" mosques. Our media here is too politically correct to have a undercover item like this. I would think if they did this in the US, we would find the same thing. The basic jist of every speaker, is that all muslims are good people, and if you are not muslim you have 2 choices become a muslim or perish to Jihad. My favorite was the one crazy who wanted to crucify the christians if they didnt convert, and let them bleed for 3 days. Nice reference there crazy terrorist wantabee. Nice. Religon of peace...............
