  1. QUOTE(Cerbaho-WG @ Feb 18, 2005 -> 07:34 PM) Yes, Georgia is having a problem with their government, as most unstable countries do when adapting to overthrows of prior governments. Nigeria is a good example. Nuke, I don't know much what's happening over in the Gorge except that it's usually full of psychos and extremists f***nuts. Mind telling me what happened now? http://english.pravda.ru/main/2002/09/26/37290.html This is a couple of years old but the situation hasn't gotten any better. I also know we've got some SF guys there helping train up the locals to better deal with terrorist elements hiding in the region.
  2. QUOTE(Cerbaho-WG @ Feb 18, 2005 -> 07:26 PM) Yes, because I am liberal and critical of American foreign policy I "worship bin Laden"? You know what, I'm sick of dealing with you. I tried to display as much comparitive evidence supporting my argument, and you can only say I worship a man whom I loathe. You're a complete joke. You still have yet to explain why its so hard for France to put a terrorist orgainzation on a terrorist group list thusly preventing them from raising money in France which, by the way, was the whole point of this thread. *Waits patiently for your punch line*
  3. QUOTE(Cerbaho-WG @ Feb 18, 2005 -> 07:23 PM) You know, I get tired of debunking posts point by point to prove my intelligence when you just make some smartass quip that is supposed to demean me. Grow up. Once again, I never insinuated that because France has a large Muslim population that they are exempt from not being involved in Muslim foreign affairs. I stated that because of their large involvement with Algieria, an involvement so large that it created the Fifth Republic and installed de Gaulle to power, that they would rather not be involved in such a volitaile situation. Maybe it's because France and Chirac side with the Palestinians, but I severely doubt so. France has every right to remain neutral on situations they do not want to enter into, yet you would just like France to be a whore to the American imperialistic policy and follow lockstep in everything they do. Get over it. Putin began his love affair with Chechnya when he was in the KGB, not just recently. Also, many radical fundamentalist Islamic groups from Saudi Arabia, and as you said al-Qaeda, we're basically kicked out of Dagestan by the government there and they setup shop in Chechnya. I can almost assure you that if Putin would simply grant Chechen independence, there would be little if any flare ups in the Caucasus region. f***, I don't know, maybe Spain and Russia could see through the minefield of bulls*** that you and other conservatives bought into about Iraq. God forbid. As to your mullet boy comment, comical. France would rather not involve themselves in a volatile situation? What does that have to do with simply putting a proven terrorist group on its list of such groups and in so doing stopping them from raising money in their country? Little, if any flare ups in the Caucasus region? Ever read up on whats going on in Georgia and more specifically the Pankisi Gorge region?
  4. QUOTE(Cerbaho-WG @ Feb 18, 2005 -> 07:10 PM) Considering I just took a history course on Hitler, who was taught by a conservative professor who preached that appeasement was a load, is ironic. Also, the only area that Hitler invaded that caused him to be amazed was not the Seudetenland or Austria, rather it was the Rhineland, consisting of Ruhr and Saxony-Anhalt. Anyways, the German military was highly industrialized and efficient in 37 and 38 due to Spanish civil war prior to that, and an invasion of Germany would have been a PR dream for Hitler. Once again, take a history course and lose the simple minded insults if you want to argue. You just make yourself look like an ultra-conservative, militaristic, ignorant, jingoistic who knows close to nothing. LOL Way to completely dodge the argument. I may have gotten my timeline a little confused but the argument is sound and you have no response other than personal attacks. Go smoke your peace pipe or worship Bin Laden or whatever the hell it is you do with your time.
  5. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Feb 18, 2005 -> 06:51 PM) And, interestingly, not a single white-collar crime in that list. Any reason why not? Fair enough. Those guilty of embezellment, mail fraud, perjury etc....etc... should also be disallowed. A felon is a felon no matter if they are violent or not and white collar felons tend to harm more people with their crimes than do violent ones.
  6. QUOTE(TheBigHurt35 @ Feb 18, 2005 -> 06:52 PM) I didn't realize that the term "Mullet Boy" is regarded as a personal attack (check out his avatar), especially after being called "ignorant" several times. Let's have a "fair and balanced" analysis, shall we? I'm not shedding any tears for Cerbaho. He has a bad habit of talking down to people who dare disagree with him.
  7. QUOTE(TheBigHurt35 @ Feb 18, 2005 -> 06:47 PM) I've never heard him claim that, so I can't really respond to the validity of the claim. I'm sure that O'Reilly has made his share of journalistic mistakes and am not under the impression that he's God's gift to mankind. Then again, we also know that CBS completely fabricated a story about Bush to give Kerry the edge in the election and that the New York Times routinely fabricates their poll results with a liberal slant, so those "trusted news sources" are anything but trustworthy. But this thread was about Chirac and I still haven't heard a reasonable justification from you regarding his veiled support for Hezbollah. You never hear about that from the left. They either try to bury it or justify it somehow. Its so typical of them really. CBS's fabricated Story, Ward Churchill, Anything the NY Times writes.......All are proof that you can say whatever you want to no matter how false or hateful it is just so long as you agree with them.
  8. QUOTE(winodj @ Feb 18, 2005 -> 06:41 PM) Thanks for that bumper sticker history. Call it what you want.......its the truth.
  9. QUOTE(winodj @ Feb 18, 2005 -> 06:39 PM) Because they are American citizens. Guaranteed the same rights as you and I. I would think that's reason enough. Nobody forces people to rob banks or rape women, kidnap children, commit assault, steal cars or kill people and nobody takes people's right to vote away unless they do something like the aforementioned to deserve it. Stop crying and whining about the "rights" of those who damage society with their actions.
  10. QUOTE(winodj @ Feb 18, 2005 -> 06:36 PM) Because I don't see an asterisk next to All men are created equal. Maybe I'm wrong, but it seems like you're all for freedom and equality as long as the undesirable people in this society don't get to share the same rights. Again.....Why should those who flout the law be allowed to have a say in how it's made?
  11. QUOTE(winodj @ Feb 18, 2005 -> 06:28 PM) If you knew about Algerian/French history, you'd know that France has been dealing with acts of terrorism for 50+ years now. I may not know a lot about Algerian History but I do know that invading armies have been wiping their feet on French soil for a very long time now and its because of their pussy whipped attitude toward foregin affairs.
  12. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Feb 17, 2005 -> 11:03 PM) Maybe something crazy like a screwball..... Does it go 103 MPH? I know of a poster here who would love that.
  13. QUOTE(winodj @ Feb 18, 2005 -> 05:52 PM) Hey, equality doesn't matter I guess. Especially if you're a good old boy... because when you get convicted of a felony (Oliver North) or are even about to be tried for one (Richard Nixon) you just get pardoned and kept from losing your right to vote. Despite committing a crime. Democrats care about all Americans. Republicans only seem to care about the ones who might actually agree with their extremist wingnut agenda. What a bunch of hores***. Republicans are about empowering people people to run their own lives and Democrats are about consigning them to dependency on a socialist nanny state. Also Wino, why should Republicans care about those who disagree with them. All you people know how to do is hurl insults and invective at their party and call their voters stupid. Equality? Why should felons have the same rights as people who actually follow the law and why should people who show blatant disregard for our laws have a say in how they are made? Like I said. This is another attempt by the left to scrape the bottom of the barrel of American society for votes to help shore up their dwindling constituency.
  14. QUOTE(Cerbaho-WG @ Feb 18, 2005 -> 04:43 PM) Off subject, but Nuke, I invite you to read a history textbook one of these days. Your jingoistic arguments are laughable at best, and as I said to the OP, read up on the Battle of Algiers. Maybe you should read up on your history smartass. Maybe you'd have read that in 1937 and 1938 Hitler was planning on backing down if the European powers had confronted him and how dumbstruck he was when they sat idly by as he annexed Sudedentland (sp) and then the whole of Czechoslovakia. Maybe then you'd read about Nelville Chamberlain waving the Munich accords over his head saying "War has been averted!" This happened 1 year before Poland was invaded and sacked and 2 years before the bombs started falling on London. Appeasement had a price and that price is more death and violence.......Moron.
  15. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Feb 18, 2005 -> 03:18 PM) Coffee table licking is optional http://today.reuters.co.uk/PrinterFriendly...-LIFE-NAKED.XML Why on earth would anybody want to eat in a place with a bunch of naked old people. *cringe*
  16. QUOTE(YASNY @ Feb 18, 2005 -> 11:16 AM) That's putting it in a nutshell. Those 2 clowns have destroyed the NHL and as long as they have any influence there wont be any reason to think there ever will be an NHL again, unless they bring in replacement players and screw them over with a s***ty labor deal.
  17. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,148003,00.html I guess the docket in Madison County, IL will be getting less crowded now.........although greedy trial lawyers have filed 20 of them in the last week in anticipation of this law being passed. This is only the first swipe taken at the lawsuit industry......more to come.
  18. QUOTE(winodj @ Feb 18, 2005 -> 03:03 PM) It also depends on the state. All natural born Americans are citizens, and those that have lived their lives in this country and have earned their naturalization are too. They are entitled to the rights therein. It's a shame that you don't see it that way. A felony is a very serious crime and those who commit them show a blatant disregard for the law and the saftey and well being of those around them. Why should we let such people decide who runs things in this country. This is nothing more than the Democratic party scraping the bottom of the barrel of American society trolling for a few more votes. Pathetic!
  19. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,148072,00.html So much for class action lawsuits against the companies.
  20. QUOTE(winodj @ Feb 18, 2005 -> 03:00 PM) But in honor of these talking points I will go do something obscene with a falafel loofa and then sue Al Franken. Satisfied? I hate lawsuits........and lawyers for that matter. NOT SATISFIED!
  21. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Feb 18, 2005 -> 02:55 PM) The law is the law though, isn't it? Isn't there a limit to drug possesion that crosses the line from misdemeanor to felony? If you have a joint on you, I think that is a misdemeanor, but if you have a larger amount (not sure of the amount here), then it becomes a felony, right? But isn't it all pot? If you have more than a certain amount it becomes "intent to distribute" and thats a whole new ballgame.
  22. Democrats want felons to be able to vote huh? I guess they have to do something to stop the shrinkage of their voting base. They can't even rely on the hispanics anymore.
  23. QUOTE(YASNY @ Feb 17, 2005 -> 04:41 AM) http://www.cnn.com/2005/US/02/16/extreme.s...h.ap/index.html People who risk their lives participating in "extreme" sports are "extremely" stupid.
  24. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Feb 18, 2005 -> 10:41 AM) http://www.qando.net/details.aspx?Entry=1169 This post was the best Nothing makes me laugh more than hearing about a bunch of whacko lefty protestors getting a good kicking ( to use a british phrase ) like that.
  25. QUOTE(KipWellsFan @ Feb 18, 2005 -> 01:40 PM) Smoking and driving an expedition. Jeeze, now there's a good combination for a long lasting life. Driving an SUV is bad for your health? How does that work?
