  1. QUOTE(Frankensteiner @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 02:05 PM) Vazquez and Garcia can't start a playoff game. We NEED a starter... it's so ridiculously obvious. As I recall Garcia did just fine last season in the playoffs. :rolly
  2. QUOTE(Melissa1334 @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 02:02 PM) HEYYY but our pitching is awesome, we dont need help. lets just slugg our way into the f***in playoffs...sighs. Alright smarty. What's your blockbuster trade that we make that shores up the staff for the stretch run? No unrealistic x-box trade fantasies either please.
  3. QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 02:02 PM) Our Pitching staff is horrid right now. The Devil Rays staff held these guys in check and we can't Can shomebody call Old Country Buffet and get DOn Copper to work with the starters? And will somebody go to Venezuela and pick up the velocity Fredy left behind? Maybe its the ganja?
  4. QUOTE(Wedge @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 01:56 PM) Man, I sure wish we had had Randy Johnson in our rotation last season instead of Buehrle or Garland f***ING OWNED!!!!!!
  5. All you people fantasizing about Verlander or Bonderman please tell me what they have won besides a few regular season games? When they beat someone in the playoffs and win a game that truly means something then you can come to me and talk about how great they are.
  6. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 01:46 PM) You wouldn't trade Garcia for Verlander or Bonderman? No. Im happy with what we have.
  7. QUOTE(Wedge @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 01:48 PM) ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ total aggreance. Our starters have got to get it together. Nobody ever said their performance was stellar but there's no reason to push the panic button just yet. The starters WILL get it together and when you marry that up with our killer offense that = repeat.
  8. QUOTE(Melissa1334 @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 01:42 PM) would u trade it for the tigers' staff...i think i might I think that there are only 2 pitchers on that staff that have ever thrown more than 200 innings. I also think I wouldn't trade any of ours for any of theirs.
  9. QUOTE(Melissa1334 @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 01:40 PM) i believed last year. our staff was awesome. but cmon, look at out starters this year, theyve been awful. but hey, maybe they'll pitch better? Everybody said Contreras wouldn't amount to anything early last season. Everybody said Jon Garland wouldn't be able to stick in the playoffs. Everybody said MB couldn't win the big game. Everybody said this.........everybody said that...... When the season is over we can properly assess who can and can't do what.
  10. QUOTE(Melissa1334 @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 01:34 PM) theres no way we win a championship with this team-no way I wish I had a dollar for every time I heard that exact same statement made last year.
  11. Alright kiddies.......chat is up and going right now. Get in there and party with us!!
  12. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 12:03 PM) Do you blame him? No. Not really. If Dergan was my wife Id have skipped school altogether.
  13. QUOTE(SoxAce @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 01:29 AM) Only thing I can think of is his batting eye besides getting alot of SB and being caught a crap load of times. Excellent disipline at the plate even though he probably stares more at strike three than anyone. To go from striking out 90-100 times in milwakee and only shortening that to 75 from last year (not using this year) is pretty incredible. My problem with his "discipline" is that he looks at strike 3 WAY too often like you said. I think when he learned his "discipline" he left the lesson on "protect the plate on a 2 strike count" to go bang his wife.
  14. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 01:15 AM) Ozuna is not the starting left fielder for the whitesox. BTW I am also sure that Gload wouldnt of caught it either, how is that part of that Pods should of caught the ball. This is a guy that some on this board where peddling to replace Anderson for a while. The fact that he cannot catch a fly ball is scary. Ball goes into mitt, ball comes out of mitt. If Pods had Ozunas hussle and balls he would be a perennial allstar. But how motivated do you have to be when you are tapping a playboy playmate all the time. She's gotta be taking a lot of energy out of him prior to game time.
  15. QUOTE(whitesoxin @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 01:09 AM) Cubs fans are everywhere. Luckily they have stfu this year. HAH! Like they have a choice.
  16. QUOTE(SoxAce @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 12:56 AM) Fish u nicca.
  17. QUOTE(KipWellsFan @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 12:50 AM) Check a couple threads down. full story http://www.rawstory.com/news/2006/No_Plot_..._Hate_0707.html Anyone notice that it seems that more and more intelligence officials are turning on the administration? ohh I should have added this... http://www.rawstory.com/news/2006/No_Plot_..._Hate_0707.html Ok so we have the mainstream media versus an "alternative news" website which quotes the infamous "unnamed sources" within the CIA. I think you can tell which way the scales of who I believe are tipping.
  18. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,202518,00.html Another one bites the dust!
  19. QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Jul 7, 2006 -> 11:28 PM) All those commies who have attacked the ideas must feel damn foolish. Bush 1, Greg Mankiw, Bruce Bartlett, whoever wrote pages 57-58 of the 2003 Economic Report of the President... Ha! And since public borrowing dampens private investment, it's a good thing this WH has cut public spending so dramatically. Wait... Supply side economics = intelligent design, just for the rich. Maybe it comforts someone, but it's still total bs. You can call it what you want to..........and so can they.......but it is clearly working.
  20. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jul 7, 2006 -> 10:45 PM) I don't think he had a very happy birthday. Im glad I shut it off after the 8th inning. I get the impression it was UGLY.
  21. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jul 7, 2006 -> 11:20 PM) He can hit the neck high fastball, but anything in the zone he has problems with. I cant figure that one out for the life of me. How is someones wheelhouse up around his neck?!
  22. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jul 7, 2006 -> 11:17 PM) The biggest problem for our starters like Mark. Is the inability to finish someone off when they get 0-2. I saw 2 things, either a fat pitch over the middle of the plate that got hit hard, or we rescue them with a bunch of pitches in the dirt and then get even in the count or go full. Small strike zone + Widger behind the plate + Marky Mark = fugly And a big hell yeah goes out to Bmac who has been trying to sneak his 90 mph straight as an arrow fastball at the chest to good hitters this week. So far 4 of them havent landed. Bmacs mechanics are f***ed. He is leaving everything high, which means only one thing. Bombs away. He needs to keep his fastball down, and he also needs to throw his curve for strikes. So far he has been having a problem throwing his hook for strikes, and his fastball is not quite good enough to blow hitters by. We need to go out and get a reliever, and ship Mr. McCarthy down to the minors so he can start again and get his control, and his pitches back again. KW already pulled Riske and Thornton out of his ass this season. I dont know how many more magic tricks he's got left up his sleeve.
  23. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jul 7, 2006 -> 10:08 PM) But, but, supply side economics doesn't work... Its all the housing market... Its all the stock market... Tax cuts don't pay themselves off /cliches pwn3d!!!!
  24. QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Jul 7, 2006 -> 11:03 PM) At least he is not drumming the bucket outside of the Cell .......................yet. No. You'll know he's close though when he's out there selling those knock off tee shirts under the viaduct. When that doesn't work the next step is the bucket.
