yes, good work with that. and hurt it wasn't just you, there's a ton of them lately.
  4. really we didn't choke that badly, i know the sweep in the dome sucked but even if we won all three and all the other outcomes were the same (big assumption i know, but still), we'd still be a game back. it's just that the twins had a steady diet of tigers and indians and wouldn't lose.

  8. Now you know how I feel everytime we play Miami. Last year after that game I walked around town doing nothing for 6 hours, and I swore off sports for a week and a half before I finally cracked.
  9. who cares about national league baseball
  10. when they enter the working world i'm sure they'll be glad to give up more and more money to the government they b**** about 24/7, like they say everyone else should.
  11. "Liberals will buy anything a bigot writes. In fact, they really support hatemongers." Came across that the other day, and it really got me thinking. Just look at the mean-spirited rants and websites the liberals here perpetuate. I'm not saying they can't stop and have a rational discussion every once in a while, but on the whole they look for any piece of hateful media they can find and throw out there.

I am jumping in late but I will add a few things. Dead Zone should never be banned in school, it's one of the greatest books I've ever read. Johnny is still one of my favorite characters. Along those same lines I would argue that books can be even more compelling than movies. They can be way deeper, because you can know what's going on in the characters' minds. Once in a while, a movie will have narrative and once in a while it will shine (ie: Adaptation), but I have on many occasions read a book and seen the movie [including the Green Mile(the book made more sense)], and rarely does the movie do more for me. Other ones I have read on that list, A Day No Pigs Would Die, The Witches (great book, but the movie freaked me out), Julie of the Wolves, To Kill a Mockingbird, A Light in the Attic (Silverstein and Dahl are two of my adolescent heroes), James and the Giant Peach (love that story), Lord of the Flies (classic), and of course Where's Waldo. None of those should be banned IMO, and I doubt many of them are banned nowadays, but this list is 1900-1999. Oh and speaking of burns, I got the mother of all burns last year running track. 100 meter dash I lunged at the end, lost my balance, fell forward on a rubber track. Burned from elbow to wrist as roman put it, skin totally gone. Also some burning on my hip and thigh, but the arm took a good three weeks to heal. Without being too descriptive, those were some of the most painful showers I've ever taken.
  15. damn even I can spot the weakness of that argument. are you saying then, that the rest of the five million were sitting inside saying BOO BRING BACK SADDAM ? did it ever occurr to you that they feared the administration wasn't really gone and thought it they celebrated prematurely they might pay for it?
  16. i am fading, there is no need to worry about me.

i would think they'd mean splitting up NoCal and SoCal, because they're so different.
  18. those first two CDs are quality good choice This one for the Kids was so hard to find. Had to order it from Tower of all places, but it was worth it. Every song is freaking awesome from the clips I heard. I love how they use the Violin to give it such an original tone. And well Alk Trio is pretty much my fav right now. Their new cd flat rocks as does Ocean Avenue. I love the lyrics in "Nose Over Tail", they're awesome. that, southern rock, and sorry about that are my favorites from goddamnit. we've had enough (so many fun guitar riffs) and all on black are the best from the new one I think.
  19. bingo, it's just like in the other thread about why i skip over the novel-length posts whining about peru in 1980 and blah blah. people spend way too much time whining.
  20. E-Lo owed this team nothing, but he got it done today with a stellar outing. I don't care what races were over and who clinched what already. He's still the man.
