    Free Ipods?

A buddy of mine was telling me about a website giving away free iPods if you sign up for a trial from AOL or something like that. Does anybody know if this is legit? I'd have to say it'd be a pretty sweet deal if it is. I'm gonna try and do some research on it, but if anybody's knows about it let me know.
  2. The play, especially on defense and in the basepaths, has been lackluster by all this game and the Twins series, not just Valentin. Ozzie needs to do something. That's supposed to be why he's here and not Manuel.
  3. Took the day off baby. Just going to sit around and watch the Sox. Can't ask for a better day than that.
  4. Tony, you'd have to make an impressive offer. Chavez is one of the top 3B in the league and I think is finally going to bust out his MVP-numbers potential.
  5. Was a good game overall. I sat in a small pocket of White Sox fans on the Diamondbacks side of the field (complete luck, don't know how it happened). Anyway, Grilli was unimpressive. I was expecting more from him. His control was off, and too many guys made solid contact off him. That said, he did a pretty good job working out of two jams. The only D'Backs run should not have scored as Rowand made a beautiful throw from center that was in time, but Burke dropped the ball. A terrible play by Burke as he had time to make the catch and the runner didn't even charge him, he simply dropped the ball. They made up for it later, though, when Valenzuela made an equally beautiful and accurate, albeit shorter throw, to get another runner at the plate. Rauch was very impressive, pitching three perfect innings. I would think that puts him in the early lead by a little bit for the fifth spot, with Wright, Diaz and Cotts just behind. It'll be interesting to see how that turns out. As far as position players go, Frank made some very nice plays at first base and hit a hard line shot that would have gone for a double if it had been about 10 feet to the right or left, instead of straight at the center fielder. Uribe's swing looked really, really ugly and made me wonder why the hell KW traded Miles, who seemed to be a good slap hitter from what I saw of him, for this guy. All in all, I saw some things that made me a little more hopeful for the season to come.
  6. I need a proven outfield bat who usually stays healthy. My guys are all young (Bradley, Kearns), missed a lot of last couple seasons (Bradley, Kearns, Edmonds)or just aren't that good (Salmon, Millar). I've got an abundance of good starters so if anyone wants to make a deal, make an offer or let me know and I'll make one (I'll probably be making some anyway).
  7. You know Sergio?! From Rio?!
  8. Does anybody know what happened to Runelvys Hernandez? Wasn't he their Opening Day starter last year and almost an All-Star before getting hurt just before the break? He wasn't even mentioned in the paragraph on the rotation.
  9. I'm not sure if it's because I cannot relate to their material or what, but I too don't find most women in stand-up to be very funny. I've seen a few that made me laugh pretty hard, but for every one of those there seem to be a dozen Whoopi Goldbergs who just annoy the hell out of me. Somebody mentioned Gallagher a while back. Did anybody see Black Gallagher on Chappelle's Show a couple weeks back. Damn if the Dave Chappelle isn't one of the funniest guys on the planet. I still have to go with Lewis Black as the top, though. I forgot to put Jack Black and Kevin Gage (Tenacious D) on my list too. That album is hilarious.
  10. The first and last picks suck anyway because you have to wait like 15 minutes between picks.
  11. I forgot Dave Chappelle and Dana Carvey on my list. Damn, this is so hard. I think it's impossible to pick 5.
  12. Lewis Black David Cross Chris Rock Dennis Leary Robin Williams Conan O'Brien Jon Stewart Jerry Seinfeld Kevin James Rodney Dangerfield Those are my top 10 favorites who I've seen do stand-up (I couldn't pick 5). Lewis Black is definitely number 1, and David Cross is number 2, and other than that they're not really in order.
  13. DBAHO, I would guess that since there are about 20 picks for each team, the draft will go at least an hour to an hour and a half. Maybe more. It depends on how long it takes everyone to decide on who they want.
  14. It's going to be tight for me, but I think I can make it at the new time. I probably won't be too late, even if I can't. I am also obviously in support of the scoring change since I suggested it. As far as the position switch for the outfield goes, I don't really care that much. Either way.
  15. I'll be there the whole time baby. Not sure which games I'll be going to yet, but I'm definitely going to try to make it for the Cubs game here (probably won't make the drive up to Mesa. TEP's a nicer stadium than the one they've got up there anyway). I'll probably go to an open workout, too. It's a great place to talk to players and get autographs.
  16. I bet they will if we sign him to a 15 million dollar a year contract.
  17. Man, what I wouldn't give for Ray Durham, or any other halfway decent second baseman, right now. Think about it. If the Yanks sign Maddux that gives them too many starters and their big hole is second base. You could probably get Lieber or Contreras, a reliever and many $$$ if only we had a second baseman. Hell, I bet they'd even take Konerko's or Koch's contract off our hands, with the mood Steinbrenner is in right now.
  18. I think he meant if the Sox traded Paulie.
  19. Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't Rule V guys have to make the Opening Day roster or else they're sent back to their original team at a cost charged to the Sox? I'd imagine that Grilli makes the team if he does anything close to decent for that reason alone.
  20. This isn't I-Rod's division. This isn't any players division. Maybe back in the day you could have made a case that it was Frank's divison. But right now there is not one single player that stands out above the rest like Bonds in the NL West or something like that. No, this is not a division for players. This is the divison of Jerry Reinsdorf, Carl Pohlad, etc. This is the divison of the cheap-ass bastard owner.
  21. I think I'd do this trade. While Griffey is a big risk, his salary is balanced by unloading Koch and Konerko. He was a Hall of Fame hitter before going to Cincinatti (and even in his first season there) so perhaps the hometown pressure has gotten to him and maybe he'd do better with the Sox. In addition, I think Koch has lost his spot on the team and it's useless to have an 8 million dollar set-up man. If Griffey is healthy there is no way that he puts up worse numbers than Konerko. Plus CF is a big need for the Sox. And, of course, Griffey is a name which would get people to the ballpark. I know he's a big risk, but so is relying on on Billy and Paul to bounce back. I don't think it will happen, but I wouldn't be disappointed in any way if KW pulls the trigger on this deal.
  22. I'll tell you the guys who I don't want to be the fifth starter: Dan Wright and Robert Person Wright has been too inconsistent and I'm fed up with him. I think (and hope) he's blown his last chance at a rotation spot with the Sox. As for Person, while he was a good starter 3 or 4 years ago, he's 35 and probably won't be any more effective than the young guys (although I said that last year about Loaiza). Unless one of these guys drastically outperforms the competition I would hope the Sox give a young pitcher a shot since they always seem so scared about committing to young guys (look at the way they jerked Kip Wells and Garland in and out of the rotation in their first seasons). Anyway Grilli, Cotts, Rauch, Diaz, Pacheco, etc. would be fine with me as long as they earn it.
  23. Cuban seems like a jerk though. He hasn't won anything, just spent recklessly and alienated the rest of the league. I want Arte Moreno. He's willing to spend to improve the team and he's trying to give the team a more fan-friendly image to compete with the Dodgers (changing stadium name, etc.). Although I'll admit he's only owned the team for less than a year, right now it seems like he's making all the right moves and would be the perfect owner.
  24. The Sox should do a matching PR move. I know a basketball player that's just retired...
