  1. Probably because the reporter that asked the question didn't specify Magglio or Konerko. The reporter specifically mentioned Frank's name and asked specifically about him. Ozzie answered the f***ing question. It is as simple as that.
  2. WOW! TIVO'd it! Should I be impressed? Who the hell cares that you TIVO's it. I definately saw it. After watching it I turned on the radio to hear their opinions and I couldn't believe they took this one part and ran with it. It was a non issue. I don't see the big deal. Actually he complimented Frank and said he only knew him as a good teammate. I hope you can say the same thing when Frank opens up his goofy ass mouth about anything that he shouldn't say. Whatever, I could really care less about what you watch, listen to, TIVO, or have an opnion on. I just hate when people fabricate, which is what a lot of people on here are doing. People that didn't even watch or listen the damn thing and are just taking the media's opinion about the situation. It sucks that our "fans" are not more informed and can't form their own opnions.
  3. Ozzie never called Frank out. DAMN! He was asked a question and answered it honestly. He didn't throw Frank's name in there. He was asked specifically about Frank. The media did it, then blew it out of proportion. That is all there is to it.
  4. So you are on Frank's side about being honest, but not on Ozzie's side when it comes to being honest. Frank should have a sliver of a brain when he says most of the stupid s*** that comes out of his mouth as well. To me you are arguing Frank can be this way, but Ozzie can't. I don't understand your argument. Actually I think you are a little biased towards Frank and can't see both sides. That's right Steff.
  5. I am thinking you really didn't see or hear the press conference. If you recall, Ozzie was asked a question specifically about Frank and his attitude. Ozzie didn't bring up his name. The reporter did. Ozzie simply answered the question honestly. Did he have to? No. But that is how Ozzie is and I respect his honesty. He didn't call anyone out. This was all overblown by the media and is a bunch of crap.
  6. This is a bunch of crap. If anyone here actually saw the press conference you would know he didnt call Frank out. The media took this and ran with it. The media asked Ozzie a question about Frank. Ozzie simply answered it honestly. I didn't hear him say anything wrong about Frank, nor did I hear him call Frank out. The media blew it way out of proportion. Bunch of horses*** if you ask me.
  7. WHy would you get rid of Sutter and Angelo you asshole! Have you looked at what Sutter is coaching? How the hell do you expect him to win with that? Give me a break. Last year Angelo drafted Alex Brown in the 4th or 5th round and he just had the best draft the Bears have seen in a long time. Grossman, Peanut, Haynes, Briggs, Gage..... This guys seems like a great GM so far. Damn, you have to start paying better attention or get your ass out of this town. I can't stand know nothing fans like you.
  8. I heard some jamoke call the Score earlier this morning about the same thing. It is a bunch of crap and this jamoke really didnt make sense at all. It sounds like a cubbie prayer to me. First of all he would make just as much or more selling the team at 250 million as he would contracting the team. That right there tells me it is a bunch of bunk. 2nd of all he would most likely not get any of the money as he does not hold 100% of the team. Actually he doesn't even hold 50% of the team. He just holds more than anyone else. We will also never be contracted, and if we were we would be like the Cleveland Browns and pop up again in another couple years. You just can't contract an original team. Sorry Cubbie fans, but this will never happen.
  9. What is wrong with you? Wells wouldn't have sucked if our management would have mad him get in shape and control his back problems. Ritchie sucked before he got here. I never thought Colon sucked last year, but hey that is your opinion. Blackjack sucked once he left. Alvarez sucked. Alex Fernandez sucked. Foulke will suck this year in a hitter park, anyone willing to gamble on that? I sure am willing to. I am sure there are way more pitchers that we let go/traded that did bad than did good. I am also willing to bet that Koch wil be fine.
  10. Im with Brando on this. He is definately hall material, especially if he reaches 500 HRs. Nomar for pitching would help if it was bonafide good pitching. Minor league pitching is not what I consider bonafide. I also dont consider Perez a bonafide good pitcher. He was mediocre at best in the NL, he would get killed in the AL. I dont see the purpose of that trade at all. Nomar is the 2nd best SS in the game. Only ARod is better. It would be great to have that. Who knows what will happen after this season. Maybe we find away to resign him. I dont like the Nomar for Perez and prospects deal at all. I hate getting pitching prospects. Montreal supposedly received all of Boston's best pitching prospects for Pedro. Carl Pavano was supposed to be the next great one. Well he isnt all that great is he? Screw pitching prospects, I want nothing to do with them.
  11. 1) I know SOx baseball. I saw the improvement he made when ALomar came over. I am not the only one that has made that comment or saw the things I saw. There must be something to that. No? 2) He will never do it because I heard him say he will never do it. It was after a game that they asked him about it. I think it was after Everett stopped switch hitting for a game or 2 and started hitting good. Jose said it wasnt an option. Wonder why you dont remember that? 3)Mota is still realtively cheap and has good stuff. Enough said. I never cared about age. Pitchers seem to reach their peak in the 27-35 age range. 4) Who died and made you an expert on everything baseball? I never heard all of this about Garcia. ALl I heard was that he is tipping his pitches. I believe a change of scenery and a new pitching coach's perspective may change this. I believe it is woth a gamble as he has good stuff. 5) I have no idea what the hell you are talking about 6)I dont think a lot of Sox fans do love THomas. I think most are sick of his overall attitude towards everything. He was exciting about 7 years ago. He has been history for a while now. I wouldnt mind seeing a clubhouse without his selfish ass in it. Konerko is not easy to dump. However, I think KW will do whatever he has to just to get him off the team. 2B I doubt Harris bats leadoff. RF He still looks good, pessimist. DH again, you lost me. LF He stol that many 2 years in a row, pessimist. He keeps improving. pessimist 1B We will see. 3B He still continues to improve, pessimist. CF solid cf, ok how about Randy Winn? SS Ridiculous assumption C Batters usually mature and get better. That is why I said SHOULD Wuold rather have Garland, I dont think Perez is as good as Garland. is that 3.50 before he went to Boston? I can't wait to see Foulke's ERA in Boston. THat should be a treat. Stairs sucks. I saw him with the Cub. One word. Sucks! Anderson is still average. I dont care if you compare him to Perez. How can this be? So optimistic at other team's players getting better. But ours? no? how is that possible? Santiago is old, over, done. Just because he is a little better than Mayne, who cares?
  12. Defense leads to winning. Enough said. Magglio does not field his position well. I am sure we can all see that. He is below average out there. He is a lolly gagger. There is also something called charisma, which Nomar brings. He is a marketable player. Magglio is not. Remember that Pepsi commercial? AWFUL! I am not saying that alon brings people to the park. However, a huge name like Nomar does. Magglio is not half the name Nomar is. Nomar's offensive #s are still awesome. He is the 2nd best SS in the game today. I dont believe Maggio can say that about his position either offensively or defensively.
  13. He had a pretty damn good last year. Better than Maggs I believe. Plus he plays SS, more valuable.
  14. Hell yeah, I know for a fact that I dont want him unless we are able to dump salary for him. He is worthless to me.
  15. If you add money into the equation then money/performance berroa is the better deal. I think that is obvious. However, he is no where near being the 2nd best ss in the game. Good luck at getting a player like Berroa away from a team that has him. Sounds like all the idiotic Cub fans calling in trying to make trades for Miguel Cabrera after he ripped them apart in the playoffs.
  16. I hate this article because it makes us, white sox fans, seem like dopes. Seem like we like to be kicked around. Like we are the little red headed stepchild. I don't feel like whatever can go wrong will go wrong. Isn't this the Cub way? Wehn they were in the playoffs 5 outs away from the World Series, don't you think most fans were thinking about the curse? Then BOOM! Mr. Bartman, Alou, and A. Gonzalez helped them out and the curse lives. I don't ever hear White Sox fans talk or think that way. Isn't this how they felt when Steve Garvey homered in 84? When McGriff first turned them down? When Palmiero turned them down last year? This is not White Sox fan thinking, this is Cubbie thinking. I understand we are not the most optimistic people in the world, however we don't think whatever can go wrong will go wrong. That is just absurd. He has the wrong side of town. This article made me sick. I don't know why it makes more sense to try to get pitching later for Maggs or Nomar. If, as he says, trade Maggs, Frank, Konerko, and Valentin for pitching. Then please tell me where the offense is coming from? How the hell do we even field a team if we just get pitching in return? Isn't that the heart of our order minus Carlos? I really don't understand this logic. We don't have to trade Nomar. We keep him here and try to trade away Konerko, Frank, and Valentin for pitching and a CF'r for at least this year until our minor league guys develop. We supposedly have some nice CF talent in the minors. This should free up payroll to throw some money Garciaparra's way. Who knows, maybe he will love Chicago. 12 - 14 million for 5 years should do it. That is what Tejada signed for. For a superstar shortstop, on a team with no other shortstop in the system, it is money well spent. For a right fielder that wants to test free agency and wants to go to SD and that has Borchard and Reed chomping at the bit to start soon, it is not money well spent. SS is a scarce position. RF is not! Maggs is much easier to replace than Nomar. Nomar is the 2nd best SS in the game today. Do you people realize that? The only SS better is AROD. THAT IS IT! GET THAT THROUGH YOUR DAMN HEADS!! I know we definately need a superstar with his type of marketing potential. You trade him away we are all the way back to Cleveland/Detroit and you are starting all over again. Sickening people, sickening.
  17. Yeah "Billy boy" really fleeced the Padres for Kotsay. Catchers are hard to come by and he traded an all star for him plus Terrance Long. He gave us Cotts and Olivo. He traded for Jose Guillen last year. That was dumb. What has Jermaine Dye done since they traded for him? He goes by two categories. For pitchers he looks at the walk to strikeout and WHIP. For hitters he looks at OBP. These 2 categories my be important, however they are not the end all be all. I'm sure if you look at all his deals more closely he has been fleeced a few more times than you think. Just like every GM, he makes mistakes as well. No GM is perfect. NONE!
  18. Supposedly there is a deal in place with Seattle if the trade with Nomar goes through. We are just speculating on who is involved besides Valentin.
  19. We will see. Be patient. Makes it seem like if they made a trade with Valentin that it would either be for Guillen or Winn. Ichiro would move to center if its for Winn. Spezio would play OF. If its for Guillen then he would just provide more power at the SS position which they feel they need. Either player fits our need. Guillen would be nice at 2B, but Winn would fit 2 needs. A leadoff hitter and CF. I am still trying to believe in Willie Harris. He looks solid with the glove and may eventually improve hitting. Time will tell. Randy Winn Year Ag Tm Lg G AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI SB CS BB SO BA OBP SLG 2003 29 SEA AL 157 600 103 177 37 4 11 75 23 5 41 108 .295 .346 .425 Plus he plays a nice CF, is 29 years old, and makes only 3.3 million this year. He fits. After this we would be very solid up the middle with Olivo, Garciaparra, Harris, and Wynn. We would have a ton of speed especially if Jeremy Reed looks good in spring and takes over for Maggs in RF. I hope KW is actually going after Winn and not Guillen or Garcia. Especially since Garcia will be non tendered.
  20. Its not happening. It was some people coming to a conclusion. Trying to put 2 and 2 together. This was never part of the deal and all speculation. Dodgers were rumored to be getting Magglio for pitching. They were rumored to be getting Nomar for pitching. they figure the White Sox would be the middle man and get Nomar and then ship him to LA for the pitching they wanted but couldnt get with a Magglio deal. Plus we would also get added pitching from the Red Sox with WIlliamson coming here. Like I said, all speculation with nothing to back it up. Kenny Williams has basically told everyone around him that he never intended to send Nomar anywhere. He plans on keeping him and trading Jose for pitching or CF help.
  21. I would doubt it. Part of this is allowing us to trade Valentin and cutting the payroll. This scenario wouldnt help that.
  22. I think you need to start watching other teams than the White Sox. There are more teams in the league with players that know how to run bases and that do hustle on defense.
  23. How about a link toasty. I cant find anything on it.
