QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Feb 3, 2007 -> 01:16 PM) At least she's hot And the Hawkeyes win...WHOOOO. We win out this week (including a win against Wisconsin) and maybe we find some hope for a late season miracle to get into the dance (damn it I can dream can't I). My Titan basketball squad lost to UCR so my Hawkeyes/Titans (baseball) won while Titans (bball) and the Bears lost. -
Well on the bright side, Cal State Fullerton swept the Stanford Cardinals and my Titans are now 3-0.

You guys absolutely annihalted us and while entering the season and throughout the majority of the season I was a major Colt hater, your team is a classy team and If any team were to beat us it might as well be the Colts.

QUOTE(dwalteroo @ Feb 2, 2007 -> 09:12 PM) Okay, someone needs to explain this to me like I'm two year old. Barzado seems unlikely to clear waivers, so if we are to get him, we'd need to trade for him, right? So who do we have that the Ms would want? No, we could claim him off waivers if he gets to us (which I doubt he will). I'm actually surprised the M's didn't try trading him first.

Where's the party on Sunday?

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Feb 2, 2007 -> 08:32 PM) Dude, next time you're looking for tee time, let me know, my wife might be able to hook you up at Big Horn. Freaking Sweet. This is the first time I've been there in about a year, but I'm going to try and make it out around the start of baseball season (most of the time the place is rented out) so I'll definitely hit you up than. -
As a Bears fan I'm excited to have Brett. The guy is nothing but class and I love watching him play (even if he plays for the Pack). I hope Favre has a good year, except when he plays the Bears

Beats guys like Paulino Reynoso or Luis Terrejo. However, I doubt we pull Terrejo off the roster until the squad figures out what is going on in the outfield. Still there are plenty of guys I'd take off the 40 in order to get Bazardo.

Rogers backed up some rumblings that I had heard about Long potentially moving into the rotation. It would be interesting if it happens since IIRC Long was primarily thought of as a future closer type guy. Still I like the idea of getting him into a rotation and letting him go 5-6 innings a night (not too concerned with him going deep into games) because it will force him to better develop his secondary pitches and in the long run make him a more dangerous reliever. Still I'm stunned to see Long ahead of Omogrosso on the list. That said Long has a really good arm (assuming he refinds the velocity he lost when he joined the Sox and I think it was flat out because he was gassed from a full collegiate season after recovering from Tommy John). The top 30 list is different than mine but those lists become a crapshoot. Still there are some guys that I can't see being ranked as low as they are.

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Feb 2, 2007 -> 06:03 PM) Why I hate ESPN down here. The Magic v. Nets game is on ESPN right now, but instead down here we get the Bulls (for about the 10th time this season) vs. Sonics game. Umm both games are carried by ESPN and are at different times. Magic game going on now, Bulls game in about 30 minutes. -

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Feb 2, 2007 -> 06:08 PM) Indio? As in 5 minutes from me Indio?...or is there another Indio, Ca.? I'm working Sunday evening , but I'll catch the game. Yep, that would be the place. I'll be staying right by the Indian Palms country club (that is where my parents place is). It is right by where there are all those polo grounds. Weird thing, the golf course is not a country club but apparently it was Eisenhowers favorite golf course during his presidency (and the course is ghetto for a course out in palm desert, albeit they are apparently fixing it up to make it nice). -
Where's the party on Sunday?
Chisoxfn replied to LosMediasBlancas's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
For me the party will be out at my parents place in Indio (its rented out most of the year). Myself and some good buddies are going to head out there tomorrow AM, shoot a round of golf in the day, bbq and play video games till the wee hours at night and than on Sunday bbq and watch the game. Should be some good times. Oh and I'm sure we'll hit up a casino while we are there. -
I'm on here, but only when I'm waiting for the client to provide me with the additional stuff I need to go on with my work.

I can't freaking wait

I must add, Iowa won yesterday and we have a shot at going above .500 in big ten play when we play the Hoosiers on Saturday. -

QUOTE(aboz56 @ Feb 1, 2007 -> 05:16 PM) We'll agree to disagree then. Gottlieb saying it was the most atrocious thing he's seen in college basketball in five years is a complete joke. You guys just had a huge win, I see no problem with rushing the court. -

QUOTE(TornLabrum @ Feb 1, 2007 -> 06:09 PM) I received an email from Stephanie Furlan today indicating that there were those who were upset that this thing is being called WSI-Fest. I have no idea which site's users were complaining, but if anyone here did so, please don't take it out on her. There's a reason we're going to stick to the title "WSI-Fest, and it has nothing to do with any kind of inter-site rivalry. (I personally couldn't care about stuff like that, as those of you who attended the COTC parites can attest.) I was asked by the Sox if WSI wanted to have a patio party. I surveyed our users who replied in the affirmative. I gave Stephanie the dates selected by WSI about New Year's Day. It was after this was in the works that Mike contacted me about combining a patio party with softball. As it stands now, I'm at my busiest time of the year for my job; my son, who has linked the flyer is starting a new job, and the flyer covers both dates WSI selected. Neither my son nor I really have the time to make changes at this late date. You are all invited as our guests, and as the organizer, I can tell you that you are all just as welcome as any WSI member. I hope it wasn't one of our sites members and I look forward to the event, should be a real blast. As always, appreciate the effort you put into setting this bad boy up

QUOTE(Steff @ Feb 1, 2007 -> 04:32 PM) They have little leaguers in there practicing during the week at 4 and I think their games start at noon on Saturdays. I think there are 8 or 10 teams so getting the field on a Saturday might be tough. I'll just get Mario to put us on one of his little league squads for the day As always thanks for the heads up.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Feb 1, 2007 -> 02:06 PM) So, 1 question...you're citing a statistic which says that Luis Terrero would be a better outfield performer than Mackowiak, Podsednik, Owens, or Ozuna. So in other words, why should I trust it? Yep, those stats just look awful. There is no way someone is going to tell me Terrero is better than Mack, Pods and Ozuna (I could buy into Owens). Nor are you going to convince me that Erstad will be worse than all of them.

Softball ......... who wants to play on 5/26?
Chisoxfn replied to Hangar18's topic in Pale Hose Talk
For all softball activity, please see the thread pinned at the top. WSI and Soxtalk are working on corresponding the event and getting it all set up (in terms of the softball game/charity details) and we will be making additional posts with further information about the game in the near future. Please remember the date and hopefully all of you can make it out and take part in the event -
That is the plan. Hopefully it will be a great event where we can have fun playing softball, than catch the game that night all while we raise money for a very worth-while trivia. I know I plan on attending this event.

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Jan 31, 2007 -> 03:09 PM) I always wonder how unrealistic the show is. My wife is a nurse, and she will scoff at it from time to time, but they throw enough twists and turns in it to keep her in love with the show. Plus, they usually will twist it in a way so that just when she wants to scream BS at it, they give you something to go "oh...O.K.". As far as drama (and dark twisted humor) goes, it is bar far the best thing on TV. The only drama I even consider watching. Ya, my best friend and former step bro's mom is a nurse and she will sit there and go why don't they order this and why don't they do that and than literaly 5 minutes later they'll order the test. I think they do a decent job, but at times they play it out. But hell I'm not a doctor or a nurse so I could care less And if I'm in the hospital for something (hopefully i'm not there and if I am it is for something minor) than I'm demanding to see house.
