  1. Berman is a boob.
  2. Paulie needs a triple here to continue his cycle effort. Its possible, considering this stadium was home to his inside the park home run.
  3. Thome has his 2nd hit to the right side of the infield. A good fielder probably makes that play.
  4. QUOTE(Jimbo @ May 18, 2006 -> 05:23 PM) We better, cause 5th i nning is Javy s*** the bed inning. GUCHI 3-2 Sox
  5. QUOTE(danman31 @ May 17, 2006 -> 02:07 PM) That was an entertaining game despite the red card call. It should have been an advantage and a goal for Barcelona since they scored as the whistle blew for the foul. The first 20 minutes (up until the red card) was filled with wide open play. After the red card it was a slower game. Arsenal had a nice period at the end of the first half when they scored, but the 2nd half was dull until the last 15-20 minutes. Still it was a nice warmup for the World Cup in less than a month. I can't wait for the Cup to start.
  6. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ May 18, 2006 -> 05:22 PM) I say Thome homers this inning. We will take the lead. zuna will double here.
  7. QUOTE(Spiff @ May 18, 2006 -> 02:39 PM) Ah thanks people, it's good to be noticed. I don't know if this place needs me so much as needs to deal with me occasionally. Anway I'm just glad I made it to 22 after all that stupid s*** in December. At least now I know that I am invincible. Thanks again. Happy Bday Spiffster. Definately one of my favorite posters on Soxtalk and one of the funniest people I know. Hope you have a good one and I'm sure you'll be spending some of the night with Bud Also happy Bday to BeGood, another long time Soxtalker.
  8. Goldy...hopefully all the procedures go well with your grandpa and that he'll be able to heal quickly. :prays
  9. QUOTE(aboz56 @ May 18, 2006 -> 05:20 PM) You know I respect your opinion and all, but we can't have a regular hitting under .200. At some point you either hit or get off the bus, I don't care if he jumps 30 feet in the air and robs homers out there. I'm not saying anything about Anderson not starting if he's hitting under .200 in June; I am saying that Mack is not an option as an everyday CFer.
  10. QUOTE(jphat007 @ May 18, 2006 -> 05:19 PM) They've been platooning for the most part of late anyway. Not really the case, Anderson gets the bulk of the AB's, but Ozzie will start Mack in CF and than usually give him another start on the next day trying to help get Mack hot.
  11. QUOTE(aboz56 @ May 18, 2006 -> 05:18 PM) Yes Anderson's D is great. But I'm sorry if he's hitting under .200 come June he's going to be platooned on a full-time basis with Mack. Better not be...we'll give up far more hits having Mack out there than we'd gain with his offense.
  12. Pop up to Uribe...2 down runner on 3rd.
  13. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ May 18, 2006 -> 05:14 PM) Well, there's a reason he's hitting .172 with 32 K's and 13 BB's. In general, taking a few pitches sure wouldn't hurt. 13 walks for a guy his age isn't bad. I've watched plenty of Anderson's at bats and he isn't just hacking at first pitches. The guy takes a lot of pitches and finds himself in the hole a lot because his approach could be better (and recently it had gotten better, but he seems to be pulling through the zone a bit quick right now). However in this AB he did everything right. Got the first pitch FB and drilled it..just happened to go right at the 3rd baseman. If you want to bash someone bash them, but don't slam him when he did things RIGHT.
  14. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ May 18, 2006 -> 05:14 PM) Well, there's a reason he's hitting .172 with 32 K's and 13 BB's. Taking a few pitches sure wouldn't hurt. Big whoop. Anyone that didn't expect him to struggle at the plate was a fool. This guy helps our pitching staff in the field (he may already be better then Aaron out there and if he isn't better, he's pretty damn close).
  15. QUOTE(Jimbo @ May 18, 2006 -> 05:13 PM) 1st pitch or 8th, BAis still going to make an out. And he's the 9th hole hitter and one of the best defensive outfielders in the game (in his rookie year). I'm far from concerned. He isn't the reason we won't go to the playoffs (well his bat). If we don't make it to the playoffs it would be on other guys. Ozuna just misplayed one, wasn't necessarily an error though.
  16. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ May 18, 2006 -> 05:11 PM) I was referring to the number of pitches he has been seeing in the game previous to that AB. Big whoop, he got a first pitch fastball and hit it hard. Bases loaded and you have a good shot at seeing a first pitch fastball to drive (since the pitcher doesn't want to fall behind). Anderson swung at it and got it.
  17. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ May 18, 2006 -> 05:10 PM) :banghead He may have broke his bat, but he hit it hard too, just right at Huff. We've been hitting Hendrickson all over the place, problem is a lot of them have been right at the Drays fielders.
  18. Martinez and Berman can't get a freaking name right. Berman has said Jose Uribe a few times already and Martinez has no clue who is on the bases.
  19. QUOTE(Ndgt10 @ May 18, 2006 -> 04:47 PM) Atleast we get to go home and play a s***ty ass, mother-f***ing, cock-sucking, joke of a team with a retard for a manager. Throw the records out when the two teams play. Plus we may be the better team, but we aren't playing good baseball right now. This weekends series is no gimme, especially with the way the Sox are playing right now.
  20. 2 down on a fly out to CF. Ozuna almost ran into Anderson who had called it off.
  21. Javy walks Gomes and now Huff is up. Javy is struggling with his command.
  22. Crede swings at the first pitch fastball that was high and pops out to the 3rd baseman, but it was still a productive inning. Wish Crede was more patient since Hendrickson looked to be off on his command.
  23. Dye hits a sac fly to CF and thats 2-0 Sox.
  24. Konerko gets a 3-0 outside fastball and drills it to dead center field right off the fence for an RBI double. Runners on 2nd and 3rd with 1 out. Lets got another hit and give Vazquez a nice early lead. Hollins had a shot at making this catch.
  25. Infield hit for Thome. Impressive.
