  1. Widge hammers out a HR and its 4-1 Sox. BA is now up.
  2. QUOTE(JimH @ May 15, 2006 -> 11:06 AM) Nice catch there by BA, or should I say good positioning. Luis Castillo is said to be really battling a sore knee, there is some doubt he'll be able to make it thru the grind. Definately a mixture of both, but its a play a lot of Cf's don't make, imo.
  3. Uribe hit it hard but to Torri Hunter.
  4. Mack with a 2 out single past Morneau. Morneaus is a piss poor defensive player and I think at quite a few first baseman make that play.
  5. QUOTE(JimH @ May 15, 2006 -> 10:55 AM) Crede goes the other way for a base hit. He really waited on that curveball. That was an impressive hit and its one he wouldn't have had a year ago.
  6. Rodriguez robs Konerko of a single after Thome whiffed. This may be one of those days where Thome goes down 4 times.
  7. QUOTE(DePloderer @ May 15, 2006 -> 10:50 AM) I'm missing DJ tonight. Anyone else watching on MLBtv? Ya, I don't have DJ today. I got the Twins cast on Xtra innings.
  8. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ May 15, 2006 -> 10:49 AM) I dont think he will be better than Santana. Santana's motion with his fastball and change are identical. Thats what makes him so great. Liriano has a better slider than Santana, a faster fastball. But is not the same pitcher. Lets also see what the grind of a season will do for Liriano. Lots of innings. King Felix looked unhittable last year. This year not so much. Liriano's change is pretty good too and he has a very good teacher in Santana and Radke who will help him master that pitch. I think Liriano/Sanatana have a shot to be the best 1-2 within 2-3 years. Nice job by Freddy to minimize the damage.
  9. QUOTE(JimH @ May 15, 2006 -> 10:47 AM) Sac fly, 3-1. Boy I am really starting to like DJ, in terms of what pitches he suggests they throw in certian situations. He is almost always right on. They did try to go inside on Morneau but Freddy left it out over the plate a bit. I've long said that if I were a GM, he'd be one of the first people I interviewed to potentially be my manager. I think very highly of DJ. He's very intelligent and a good individual and I think he'd be an above average manager. He really understands baseball and I like the insights he adds to the telecast (and like you say he's usually pretty accurate with what he says). On the other hand, Cintron half assed that play at 2nd and made the play much closer than it was.
  10. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ May 15, 2006 -> 10:46 AM) Well, at least we got the out. Did Cuddyer take 3rd? No, he should have though. Anderson airmailed the throw and Cuddyer should ahve immediately known that couldn't have been cut off and been at 3rd. Morneau hit it hard too, luckily it was right to Anderson.
  11. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ May 15, 2006 -> 10:43 AM) No, I would have replaced Loshe with Liriano, not Silva Ya, I know that. I'm just saying I think Liriano is better than Hernandez (who is damn good too).
  12. Runners on the corners with no one out. Cuddyer just ripped a single with Hunter in motion.
  13. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ May 15, 2006 -> 10:41 AM) I would have gone with Loshe, but whatever, I guess its pick your poison. Liriano is ridicuously good. I think he's better than Felix Hernandez.
  14. QUOTE(Jimbo @ May 15, 2006 -> 10:36 AM) now who is going to hit the clutch homers in the playoffs? Buehrle
  15. QUOTE(JimH @ May 15, 2006 -> 10:36 AM) #1 for Pods. Way too soon for his 1st. He's now on pace for like 12 more than last year, LOL.
  16. Pods hammers a 2 RUN HR to RF and its 3-0 Sox.
  17. QUOTE(JimH @ May 15, 2006 -> 10:34 AM) BA K's and he looked slightly confused in that AB. I'd assume Anderson has some experience versus Baker from the IL league last year. Pods just swung at a high and away 2-0 pitch. He loves doing that. 3-1
  18. Anderson strikes out on a fastball down and over the middle part of the plate. Nice movement on the pitch, but bad AB by Brian.
  19. Anderson just pulled off a good FB to hit. 1-1
  20. Hot off the presses...Josh Fields was the IL hitter of the week.
  21. Widger comes through. Hits a high fastball over 2nd base for a RBI single.
  22. Of course we have the wrong guy up, but he does seem to hit a lot of fly balls, so hopefully he can hit one deep enough. 0-2 count nad he just swung at a horrid pitch and somehow caught up to it. Had he not, he would have been hit in the face.
  23. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ May 15, 2006 -> 10:29 AM) "The key with the bunt is to make sure you put it in fair territory" - Singleton. Sounds like something I'd say. No wonder some people compare me to Singleton.
  24. Juan hits it to deep CF and Mack tags to 3rd base. Now lets get him home.
  25. QUOTE(JimH @ May 15, 2006 -> 10:27 AM) Jason do you think the WBC somehow messed with Garcia's velo? It looks like he's settling into a nice little groove now. I think he may have been throwing more sooner than ever and because of it, he had a dead arm period early in the year that he seems to be getting through. I also think some of it had to do with his legs not being as under him because he was out of shape early on. Mack just hammered a double.
