QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 01:47 PM) Lack of execution all day long and some questionable managing. Cotts in the 8th would've been good. Where are Jenks or Thorton? Cotts and Politte do not need to go more then one inning with Thorton and McCarthy. After last seasons ealry game agains the Tribe in which Viz was hung out to try, Ozzie always makes sure he'll have people ready in case things go extra. He always leaves that extra guy. Jenksy is in now. Cotts is a durable guy, there is no problem in running him out for 2.

QUOTE(joeynach @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 01:46 PM) And there goes the game to a guy most people have never heard of. How the hell did he go 4-5 against pitching he has never seen before. I think he was the best hitter in the NL against LHPing. So it should come as a surprise that he hit Cotts.

If we don't end up winning this game it will be an early season lesson learned by this club. We should have won and they will have to focus and be better prepared in these type of games. I know Ozzie will help use this game to set a lesson. However, it ain't over yet. Lets keep it at 1 and see what Guch, Thome, PK can do.

Tribe takes the lead.
-
Sizemore is good. He gets the bunt down and a runner is on 2nd. God damn am I jealous of the Tribe for having him. He's so fun to watch.
-
Pods pops out. He needs to hit the ball on the ground, too many fly balls thus far this season for him. You can see he missed a bit too much of spring so he's just not quite ready yet.
-
I like the idea of sending Cintron. Plus I got little faith in Pods anyway so worse case you have the top of the order for the 11th.

QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 01:38 PM) Was it an over-the-shoulder catch by Sizemore? Ya, he wasn't in control but made a nice catch. Made it look relatively easy but it was a play most CF'ers don't make, in fact I think 90% of them don't make that grab.
-
Great play by Sizemore at the track in dead center to haul it in on Uribe. Damn.
-
Game.Over Danny Graves is in. We'll take care of him.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 01:34 PM) Seriously, how can anyone like Belliard and Sabathia, those wanna be thugish homos cant even put their hats on straight. I give Sabathia a little leeway since he's a lefty. Its almost proven that lefties don't know how to wear hats perfectly straight (hell I do it all the time when I'm on the field and I think its on straight). But mine isn't quite as off as Sabathia's. But I'm also just a wee bit slow, but nothing like Heads

Popped up into right field on the first pitch and Iguchi makes the catch. Inning over. Sox got another shot at trying to win this thing.
-
Flied out to Anderson.

QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 01:31 PM) Just by basing on what I read, I'm more disappointed that Pods didn't draw a walk. Everyone in the world knows that the Sox struggle with offspeed pitches with a 3-2 count. Pods done a poor job at that so far this year. I expect that to change cause I'm sure Ozzie will be reminding him how important it is for him to get on base. But with him still being tentative I Think he thinks it means he needs to swing more and get hits as opposed to just get on.

QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 01:30 PM) Mota was wild and appeared to be overthrowing. I'm definately not lying. Mota pitched VERY well.
-
QUOTE(rventura23 @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 01:27 PM) i did over-react Its cool, its just one of those things that gets on my nerves, when people go out and blame guys. There was no reason to blame Paulie on that AB.
-
QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 01:26 PM) We don't deserve to win this game. We've done a lot of things wrong, but we were still the better team today, so lets win this thing.
-
QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 01:25 PM) I put money on the fact he is not actaully watching the game, just looking online. The only chance Paul had was to guess if he should swing or not. No he just doesn't understand baseball and totally over-reacts. AJ swings first pitch and ends the inning.
-
ITS WP time.
-
That change is flat out nasty when mixed with his FB. Mota didn't have that back in his days with the Dodgers. Come on mack. Wow he took a pitch and AJ, whose our hottest hitter this side of Thome, is due up.
-
QUOTE(rventura23 @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 01:21 PM) paulie youre really sucking right now put it together Are you kidding me. He had a hit earlier today and hit a freaking rocket to dead center that would have been a run scoring double had the wind not completely knocked it down. He also just had a great ab but Mota made an amazing pitch on him. Quit whining and blaming players. Its one thing if they do something stupid, but Paulie didn't do anything wrong that AB, Mota was just better.
-
That was f***ing nasty. What a pitch by Mota. 3-2 and he throws a change. PK had no chance.
-
QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 01:19 PM) What was so close? Paulie broke his bat and it went over the first basemans head but landed just foul. Barely.
-
QUOTE(jphat007 @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 01:18 PM) MAN. We can't freaking catch some luck. Paulie will deliver

QUOTE(knightni @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 12:08 PM) whitesox.com is having a raffle for 3 rings. REAL ones. $20 a ticket, 40K tickets. Illnois residents only. I was so pissed when I heard that. I so wanted to buy one ticket.
