QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Apr 15, 2006 -> 12:21 AM) I think they've been trying that for a year or two now. They've got Boof Bonser down at AAA and the likes of Glen Perkins (think that's his name) down at AA. Some excellent SP prospects. Is Perkins doing good? He's the local boy they drafted out of Minnesota right (1st round pick from the Gophers). Pretty solid lefty when he was with the Gophers. Of course I saw the Titans freaking DRUB him one game. Therefor, so can the Sox

4/14 Games
I should add, Malone still is good enough to become a major leaguer, but I have major doubts considering he's never learned to PITCH. Chris Kelly and Lucy are both raking. Two relatively high picks that have been dissapointments (Lucy more than Kelly) who have really jumped out of the gates.

QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Apr 15, 2006 -> 10:03 AM) Thats great seeing Malone give up no walks.... he has great stuff if he can just find the strike zone consistently. He doesn't have that great of stuff anymore. He did do pretty good last season considering he was coming back from a serious arm injury.

Vasquez Last Night (4/14)
QUOTE(chisoxt @ Apr 15, 2006 -> 05:03 AM) I think that I noticed his problem in general...While he has great stuff, he seems to more of a thrower than a pitcher in that on rare instances does he ever pitch inside. Last night, on an outside pitch, Troy Glaus hit an opposite field run-scoring double, that in my opinion, changed the momentum of the game. Hawk was commenting on how filfthy the pitch was and how you had to give Glaus credit. This may be true, but there was no way that Glaus could have gotten to that pitch had Vasquez done a better job with his locations of the previous pitches, which were away, away and away. Great post. I've yet to watch enough of Vazquez to be able to agree or disagree with this statement, but from the sounds of your description it sounds pretty right on. It also sounds to me like we'll be able to get things turned. Cooper has reiterated that exact point to ever member of this staff. Coop gets his pitchers to pitch agressively and confident and he'll get Javier throwing the ball inside a lot more.

Game Thread - 04/15 Buehrle vs. Burnett
QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Apr 15, 2006 -> 10:16 AM) HE GAWN Bad bad inning though. Down 2-0, Buehrle throws 25 pitches Was it that bad, 2 infield hits and a HR? Or was he getting hit hard the whole time or something?

QUOTE(maggliopipe @ Apr 15, 2006 -> 09:48 AM) I'm in the same boat, except my cable provider doesn't carry WGN so I won't see tomorrow's game either. And I thought I had it bad. Whats worse is that its part of the MLB Package its just our cable providers are showing NHL games instead.

Game Thread - 04/15 Buehrle vs. Burnett
This is such f***ing bulls***. My Cable provider has NHL and MLB on the same channels so because of that the Sox game isn't going to be on Xtra Innings. This is f***ing BULLs***. Two straight games.

AAP: Paulo Orlando
QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Apr 14, 2006 -> 11:54 PM) Kannapolis Intimidators Pos: CF DoB: 11-01-1985 Ht: 6'3" Wt: 165 Bats: R Throws: R Mr. Orlando is shrouded in mystery, perhaps because his name in was originally Pablo? The only news article I could find on him from his home country of Brazil (which is no longer available) referred to him as Pablo. -- Anyway, he goes by Paulo now. Let's just hope it's not one of those age-gate, or Jario Garcia Santiago Casilla situations. I heard that was played in one of the Dominican Summer Leagues for the Sox last season, but I can't find any stats on him from there. I've only seen him bat once, turning what should have been a routine DP into a FC with his speed. He would later score from first on a double squirted down the right field line. From the 360 feet that I've seen him run, I think he's the fastest player in the White Sox system. He has started his professional career in America with a 7 game hitting streak (still active) that includes 2 doubles, 2 triples, and a HR. Hey Gene Orlando batted .322 with 7 2b’s and 3 3b’s for the Dominican team.

2006 FutureSox Top 25: 15-6
QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Apr 14, 2006 -> 01:14 PM) podcast? Ya, if you have any questions for how or why we have someone where we are or if you think we really screwed the pooch and left someone off our list, ask us and we'll respond in a podcast show we will be doing focusing on our top 25 (just for some more commentary talking about how we came up with the list and who barely made the list). Hell there are times where we get in debates about who should be where and eventually someone gets slotted where maybe 2 or 3 think he should be, but 1 doesn't or vice versa. We also have some guys that we thought were close to making the list (guys like Gomes) but decided its best to hold off because they have yet to prove anything. Also I want to note too many people look at A level guys and give them these high ceilings and call them better than AA or AAA guys just because those AA and AAA guys have probably found there ceiling (which could just be a potential avg major leaguer) but those minor league guys get highly touted when in all reality there ceilnig probably won't be higher, if not lower than those AA or AAA guys.

2006 FutureSox Top 25: 15-6
QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Apr 14, 2006 -> 01:08 PM) wow Tracey is way overated....him and Rogowski both overated on that list. Id put Lumsden, Hernandez, and possibly Getz ahead of them.... a case can be made for a couple others too. When Tracey is pitching out of our pen a year from now I don't think people will be saying that. He has very good stuff for a righty. People may have thought I was crazy when I kept touting a guy like Majewski, but that turned out to be a pretty wise move. In terms of Lumsden, I think he's about as talented as a pitcher we have in our system, but no way are we about to throw him incredibly high based on him sitting out an entire season and having about 40 career minor league innings. There is no way to see how he will react from injury and I thought we may have had him higher than some would have expected. Rogo is a good first base prospect. He may not fit with this club, but he could be a quality big leaguer somewhere. Actually if anyone was under-rated it would have been Brandon Allen and Vernon (Chris) Carter. Those two are major candidates to jump all the way into a top 6 or 7 in a years time. Getz will never be a top propsect, but could turn into a solid 2nd baseman. Basically put Getz may very well be the middle infield equivalent of Casey Rogowski without long term numbers to back him up. Getz plays a more important position and is damn good defensively. He also has good speed and a good eye but I don't know how he'll project in the majors as a hitter. I think worse case he'll be a utility man though. He does too many things solidly (to go along with very good defense) to be anything less than that. However I think Rogo would be getting quite a few ab's at the major league level if he were in another system.

2006 FutureSox Top 25: 15-6
2006 FutureSox Top 25: 15-6 By FutureSox.com The White Sox traded numerous top 25 prospects over the off-season. This puts added pressure on the recent Sox draft and you'll see many of the 05 draft included in the 06 list. With the strenght of the organization at the lower levels, the keys to the Sox minor league system will be in terms of developing the guys in A Ball and getting them up to Bham as soon as possible because the team is very thin on prospects that could help the major league club in the near future. Today, we will release 15-6 and Monday 5-1. Following the full release we would like to hear your thoughts and answer your questions, so please send those to us at contact@futuresox.com. We will than answer the readers questions in an interactive podcast. MORE

QUOTE(Elcaballo45 @ Apr 13, 2006 -> 09:56 PM) This was a great day for Caballo fans. Robbing a homer and another beautiful catch along the wall on Edmonds. And that homer was crushed against Izzy. I've been smiling all day! Ya, he stepped it up late in the game.

AL Central Central
QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Apr 13, 2006 -> 06:22 PM) I know this Cabrerra is supposed to be the closer of the future, but he has NOT been impressive so far. Already has two walks in the ninth. He sucked in the WBC and there is something majorly off about his delivery right now. The guy has good stuff but ZERO command. He can't throw a strike to save his life right now.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Apr 13, 2006 -> 04:47 PM) By the way...No, Comedy Central did not show the Prophet Muhammad. Yes, the creators of South Park had him in the episode. Yes, Comedy Central caved and censored it themselves. I think part of this was a slam at Comedy Central and how Fox was willing to air Muhammed on Family Guy yet Comedy Central wouldn't. This is a refernece to how Comedy Central will never show the scientology episode again because it caved into threats from Tom Cruise who was going to refuse MI3 (which I think is being done by Paramount which is somehow associated with Comedy central).

The world has ended for my daugher
QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Apr 13, 2006 -> 02:38 PM) I didnt either. It happened rather quietly(or at least I didnt read any threads mentioning it) a few months ago. LMAO We do our best to do things quietly. We feel its a disservice to those that are banned if we go around announcing it. At the same time we feel it is uncessary and rude for people to publicly vent for a banning or suspension. Thats always best handled via PM's. It would be like a player whose mad at an ump to go grab the microphone and vent to the whole world instead of going off and arguing with the ump.

I almost died laughing when Bobby was fighting Peggie. Peggy- Well, Bobby, as you can see, I don't have any testicles. Kahn- She's bluffing...finish her! THATS MY PURSE....I DON'T KNOW YOU That and when Hank becomes a pimp (without knowing it) are two of my favorite episodes
