    Nip/Tuck S3 Ep11

QUOTE(Steff @ Dec 20, 2005 -> 10:18 AM) Hmm.. they removed the pics from their site... J.. what did you do...?!?!?!? I deleted them from here. Lol, them removing the pics may just mean we know exactly who it is. My guess is they are both in cahoots.
  2. Just wanted to point out that Eaton is 27, while Young is 26. Its not a huge age difference. The big problem with Eaton is injury issues. I think the Pads made this move for Gonzalez and obviously the Rangers want to bolster there staff and they must think Eaton is going to be healthy (and obviously they've really bolstered the pen). It does look to me like the Rangers gave up quite a bit though.
  3. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Dec 20, 2005 -> 12:01 PM) I see how the addition of Otsuka helps the Rangers' bullpen but how does trading a talented young pitcher for another pitcher of similar quality help their rotation? And Young could be better than Eaton eventually. I don't get it. Eaton at this stage of the game (when healthy) is a better pitcher than Young, imo. However, long term Young will probably be the better of the two. Otsuka was a stud in the pen.
  4. Thats an interesting deal. Young's got some solid stuff and we know a lot of people love Adrian Gonzalez as a prospect. Rangers get two solid major league guys in return. Sledge is supposed to be pretty solid as well.

I'm gonna delete those after you see them steff since they are so huge, so just make a post when you've read them so I know you saw em
  6. Its because Comcast has been replaying the games and some people are posting some of the results. Ie, someone made a most when the replay showed the ball go under Graffy's leg. I'm sure Iguchi hitting a homer will be posted shortly, lol.

They are pictures with Quentin holding the knife and carver costume. One of the pictures has him and the female police officer (her holding the knife) and him in the carver outfit (as if they were doing it together). I hope they are just putting that out to make people think thast it, otherwise I'm gonna be bummed cause I've lost the surprise.
  8. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Dec 20, 2005 -> 12:13 AM) I agree Contreras would. But with Garland, it's useless giving him the desired amount (>11mil) he'll seek without adding years. Many years. Williams' move to acquire Vazquez isn't exactly a bargain except for the few amount of years he'll be under contract. It's probably Williams attention to avoid long term deals--which Garland will surely receive. For that reason, as I was trying to convince Fathom, it's important to have atleast one replacement available for a worst case scenario of Contreras/Garland leaving. I think we'll be set, but Garland isn't going to sign anything less than a 5 yr deal, imo. The Sox don't like giving out long term deals and I think the reason Kenny got Vazquez is because the Sox know they got his rights for the next 3 years (which isn't too bad at all). They find themselves in a good shape and if they resign one of the two they'll be in real good shape. Would Garland take a 5yr 60 mill deal, he just may (although on the open market he'd get more), but I can't see the Sox offering him that. I could see them waiting a year and if he pitches well, go out and offer that sort of contact (the sox would also have to have a strong season). But thats still only if they have an open spot at that point. It'll be interesting, but I really can't see Garland taking a 3 yr deal. Unless its 3 yr 39 mill (maybe he'd go for it). The Sox aren't going to offer it either.
  9. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Dec 20, 2005 -> 12:14 AM) :puke 360 is the worse new system coming out... save your money and wait for the ps3. Only if its not 500 bucks when its released. If thats the case I'll be passing. And its way better then the new nintendo thing.
  10. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Dec 20, 2005 -> 12:03 AM) You might have been able to sign Garland or Contreras for the amount Vazquez will earn, but I doubt Garland (in particular) would accept a two year deal for 22 million. Not even three years for 33 million would likely be enough. Perhaps Contreras would; so it may have been Williams intention to replace Vazquez with Garland. We have Vazquez under our control for possibly three years. I think Contreras would if you had a 3rd year option in there (maybe even one that kicked in if he threw 200 innings the next two years). I think you could do some sort of 2 yr extension worth 22 mill and than a 3rd year that could push the total package to 3yr 33 (that automatically hits if he throws a certain number of innings).
  11. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Dec 19, 2005 -> 09:43 PM) Ball State, the same university that brought us the gem "Boom goes the dynamite!", got f***in' SMASHED today in WCBB. Duke won 110-24. Ridiculous
  12. QUOTE(fathom @ Dec 19, 2005 -> 11:57 PM) No, but if we start trading them away in the offseason before their last season, it just seems like we're going to be hurting our MLB team that season. I'm a much bigger fan of just playing with your players, and if you're doing well, try to win the whole f'n thing. If your season isn't going well, then trade the player for prospects. However, don't keep using the prospects as chips to trade for high-priced players. The reason for that is that those players are going to be in the same situations that Garland and Contreras are currently in, so we're just as likely to start trading them if they don't want to sign extensions. BTW, this really isn't that big of a deal right now. I think we'll eventually get Contreras signed to a 2 year deal with a player option, but there wasn't a chance in hell that Contreras and his agent agreed to the first proposal. What was the 1st proposal?
  13. A few weeks ago Political talk was down to one thread a week. Well we heard your complaints and made changes. First we opened back the SL&P forum, but now we'll go one step farther and open up a seperate forum for all political talk. We will give out one warning. This forum will not be heavily monitored and because of that we will likely pay minimum attention to anyone whining that goes on about something a person told you. Both parties need to know they are going to be getting into a heated discussion (possibly) and that not so nice things may get said. Whenever politics get involved people have a hard time agreeing and many times call each other names. We hope that won't happen, but I'm not going to lie, sometimes it will. The best we can ask is that you try not to do it and make damn sure any disagreements you have with a poster stay in this forum. If they move to other forums you will be harshly punished (as we are leaving things a little more open on this forum). If people have issues with a comment someone made (in terms of politics and assuming it wasn't racist or totally offensive) than the best we will say is to stay out. So for those of you that like to gun it out and rant, rave, and try to enlighten others, well you got your chance. Just keep any differences right here.

  15. If you notice, you'll see we've made changes to the Swapmeet, renamed Trade Winds (to Sox Trade Winds) making its sole purpose White Sox trade rumors/suggestions and have moved Around the Horn (and renamed it "The Diamond Club") into a subforum as well. This forum is for everything Non-White Sox including all MLB rumors that aren't related to the White Sox. We also have taken a minute to create a new political subforum of SL&P which will be specifically for those that love to rip and yell and basically be all gung ho about one party or issue. Hopefully you all enjoy these changes. It should keep Sox stuff amongst Sox stuff and the generic stuff with itself. I also think this will decrease the amount of double posting, but I'd also like to remind people to check before they make a post. If they are going to post a trade suggestion or rumor, please put it in the Sox Trade Winds forum. If your going to post about a player signing with the Cubs, please put it in the Diamond Club. If you have an article talking about how Ozzie is going to use Juan Uribe in the lineup, please put that in Pale Hose Talk. Anyway just want to also take this time to thank everyone that is a part of this community. We got a great site and its been one hell of a year. I think being a part of Soxtalk made the World Series run even more special and that definately wouldn't have happened without all of the members. Just want to wish you Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year.
  16. This forum is now the place where all White Sox rumors will be posted. If it doesn't involve the Sox, please post it in "The Diamond Club". Whenever a rumor becomes a reality the post will be moved to the main forum (Palehose talk) and discussion will continue. Please do your best to make sure you make a post in the right forum. Hopefully everyone will enjoy this change as we feel it will make things more organized and result in less double postings (that way people can go to one spot to find everything they need).
  17. Around the Horn has undergone a little bit of a transformation. This is not only a place to talk generic baseball news, but its also the place to bring up any and every sort of trade rumor involving teams other than the White Sox. Are the Indians about to make a move to bolster their club, post it here. Is a former White Sox player on the move, put it here. Anything non Sox and baseball related can be found and should be posted here.
  18. I'm working on an experiment but mid way through had plans to go to dinner and am gonna finish it up right now.
  19. I'm gonna be all over this game. I assume it will be released for 360? Cause my thoughts are I'll purchase this game and 360 at the same time.
  20. QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Dec 19, 2005 -> 08:45 PM) The Sox will pay Mark B. $10 + million soon and have no regrets about it. Garland has issues in that we don't know if he had one good year and will go back to mediocrity. Jose, we don't know how old he is, whether his age will affect him and if he just got hot in the second half. Mark is a workhorse, who you know will give you 16-20 wins, 3.00 - 3.50 ERA and tons of innings. He is the only one I would think of giving the huge money to. I always consider the PCL a hitters league, but I may be wrong.
  21. Soxfest...Just look at what the Orioles gave Hernandez. He got more money per yr and no one is going to tell me he's better than AJ. I think they are on a similar level. I think you'll also see Bengie Molina eventually sign (if he goes multi year) for a few mill more than AJ. I will say this, over the course of a full season (if healthy) I think Bengie is the better of the 3 catchers (he's a good hitter, is slow as molasses, but is good defensively). AJ is a solid hitter and calls a hell of a game, plus he fits in well with the club (he also has all the intangibles of a winner).
  22. Awesome. Very fair deal, imo. I think he's better than Hernandez who just signed a deal worth like 7 mill a year with the Orioles. I'm really happy to know that AJ will be on the southside for a while longer.
  23. Yes, I'm going to be in the championship game. I was the 4th seed and won by 40. Freddy Taylor was the only guy to have a bad game. He was a last second starter over Warrick Dunn. Hasselbach had another great game for me, Rackers was solid, the Bears D rocked, Thomas Jones was good and all 3 of my WR's put up a TD (Roy Williams, Larry Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin). I even put Todd Heap on the bench today just as a safety maneuver (not that I think he'd get -40 points, lol). What made things great. His team had Vick at the helm and I have the Bears D, Thomas Jones and Brian Urlacher. I figured it would come down to this game and it probably did. His only good performer was Tiki who had a monstrous day on Saturday.
