  1. I dont' know that they aren't committing to a rebuild. I think they are just trying to bridge the gap -> but reality is the money is going to be coming off the books prety significantly in next 1-2 years, so outside of not having that 1st round pick -> they should have a lot of opportunities to start enhancing the team and injecting youth. And they have invested in some young olineman so I'm not going to jump on the line just yet...and I dont' think the line was that bad given the Rams have a really good line. I do think the Bears inability to stretch the field is just brutal in this modern NFL because you allow teams to shorten everything. Maybe this was by design given who the Rams are at generating a pass rush -> but not something that is sustainable. This looked a lot like the "game manager" offense they put around Mitch last year and I would have expected a bit more out of Dalton given he is much better at reading defenses. I should caveat - other than a brutal red zone pick (bad decision) I didn't think he played poorly -> but the thing with Dalton is, he just can't go out and win you games. If they had an elite defense -> fine, it works...but the Bears are shifting away from that and FIelds is a guy who if things work out, he absolutely CAN win you games. He has that "it"..that special talent to make everyone better and do things even when everything else breaks down.
  2. I wanted fuller and thought it was a poor use of resources - that said - if the intent was start shifting resources to offense and start finding younger pieces than go ahead and try Vilder and others to see if you got something...or if you don't. You don't learn anything by playing Fuller. I feel the same way across other places -> but that is because I think this is a total rebuilding program.
  3. They should have traded Mack when they could have still got some value for him and should be moving any older piece for picks etc. Once they got Fields teh entire focus had to be shifting the resources to the other side of the ball and maximizing that investment and than hope you can build the d back up over time (cause its old and decrepid now).
  4. Eddie Jackson went from one of Pace's best moves to handing him an extention after a poor season and turned it into a massive disaster cause Eddie Jackson flat out SUCKS.
  5. Winston isn't any QB. He was so smart taking the lower pay to really rebuild his game -> he has such physical talents and now he's getting to unleash them in such a great system. And Sean Payton is a GOAT.
  6. Hawkeyes with two nice wins to start the season!
  7. I'll be at tomorrow's game. Hoping somehow the Bears surprise me...but my expectations are very grounded.
  8. And that is a White Sox winner!!! WOHOOO. Rodon is nails as long as that shoulder is holding up.
  9. If White is working out with them that would be a great sign. I thought he was going to miss most of training camp from his offseason shoulder surgery...so this would imply he is ahead of schedule on that front (which would be awesome).
  10. It is why I'm not that worried about the team. A bunch of people are playing out of spots.
  11. I prefer Rey Lo the reliever vs. Rey Lo the starter. I think he has a legit bright future as a reliever.
  12. If they want to score 4 goals everytime I complain around halftime I'm okay with that
  13. He was set-up to fail. We all knew he couldn't go 6 innings and that has been the case so many times with TLR's handling of Dallas.
  14. If it is any solice -they have played the best 5-10 minutes of offense to start the 2nd half that I've seen in the past 3 games. Not that it says much.
  15. If they finish the game the way they played this half - I think you have to make a coaching change. This team is horrendous looking and playing WELL below its talent level. Like talk about coming out flat and just getting out played...this has been the case in 3 straight US games. A ton of unforced errors on the offensive side of the ball and just all around sloppy play. They are crippled without a midfielder like Bradley, etc who can control the field and help make plays at the front. And I never really liked Bradley. Or they need an Altidore type to take pressure of Christian.
  16. It is why I said at the time of the trade - the Cubs did extremely well - they bought low on a guy with a high upside (not ever going to be Craig Kimbrel career wise, but he is certainly going to put up a lot more combined value over his tenure than Kimbrel and was a great bounce back candidate given his plus stuff). Add in a Madrigal and while I could understand the trade, it was a trade I WOULD NOT have made. That said - I hope kimbrel crushes it and Sox win a championship because of him.
  17. His ERA was relatively respectable at the ASB - I wonder if this has more to do with him just completely breaking down after having not pitched that long over the past handful of seasons. Keuchel had a run where he was pretty solid - but he always struggled 3rd time through but than more recently it has obviously been a disaster.
  18. Yeah I literally don’t know what they are doing with him. Makes no sense unless they think they need to save him for stretch run but he never gets used and isn’t developing but he also is usually pretty good.
  19. Early data says the booster is incredible…I will be getting mine when they say to do so…but I know moderna needed to go back and get some data cleaned up that will delay their boosters…but early results in Israel have been extremely promising…as in 4 or 5 times stronger than the original vac (which was already amazing).
  20. In this case it makes total sense. Kopech was awful. He has had a few rough outings over past month. Wish they stretched him out sooner just so he could get through more of this sooner. Also - this has been the rule for as long as I can remember…but it is rarely done.
  21. What i don't get is - they won't take an experimental vaccine - but they will take a shitton of other experimental meds.
  22. Exactly - it isn't like the team is that good and no matter what Fields is going to take time. You run him out now - starting the season against two of the 5-10 best defenses in the league (Rams & Browns), with an oline that was injuried through most of trainin camp, while he is already inexperienced...could he overcome it, sure...but why chance that vs. let him sit and soak things in a bit. Waiting isn't going to hurt him - getting him out too early and having him seeing ghosts or getting happy feet because he isn't ready...that could just create bad habits that do impact his long run. 4 of the greatest QB's in NFL history sat out of the gate - Patrick Mahomes (not the length but he sat), Drew Brees, Aaron Rodgers, and Tom Brady (obviously no would have have started him right away). There are also exceptions - like Peyton Manning and many others...but I am very happy Bears are waiting. They are going to wait until he can just play and get a half season under his belt (worse case). Best case Dalton is actually pretty decent and Fields gets to just watch for a year and be that much more ready (nothing wrong with that either).
  23. Maybe - but money shouldn't be an issue. Edit: You are right - he is an RFA.
