  2. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 04:58 PM) Make sure you take a sign asking the Great Erstad not to sign with the White Sox! Sox are saving their funds for Steve Finley...ie Griffey light
  3. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 04:57 PM) Timo had burritos for lunch?
  4. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 04:56 PM) Are you more nervous or excited tonight? I'm excited. They are winning this game Plus in a few minutes heading out to see Zito vs Colon
  5. Whose ready for some more White Sox runs????? Cause they are a coming
  6. Mac just goes back and makes another good pitch...WOOT
  7. Damn, talk about ballsy. I love that pitch sequence right there. Talk about throwing changeups and totally has Mench tied up. Too bad Widgemeister drops it. Battle through it Mac
  8. Where the heck was that 2-2 pitch that Bmac threw. That looked damn good.
  9. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 04:52 PM) Except you needed 3 feet each side to be successful. My bad - had to do it. Touche
  10. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 04:52 PM) Compared to the last few weeks, the last 2 and a half games have been offensive tears. All I know is the Dye is the key to this offense. He's the connecting force between the top and bottom of the order. I agree with you on Dye. He's a real key kog cause when he's on this offense has a lot more depth to it. If he's off, you can really pitch around the hitters, imo. That was a wicked hook Bmac just threw to Soriano. That ball just dropped to the ground and Soriano weekly grounded out.
  11. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 04:50 PM) And a very nice outside zone also. That ball looked to be off the plate by a few inches. Probably was, but than again, so was Bmac's pitch to Texiera that was called strike 3. Of course I'm bias, I'm a fan of pitching and tend to think everything semi near the plate is a strike, lol. I guess its the pitcher in me
  12. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 04:48 PM) Great clutch hitting by the top of our order. I still point to the law of averages. There is no way this club will continue to fail with runners in scoring position like it has the past 3 weeks. They are solid hitters (no this isn't a great offensive team, but its certainly capable of being a good one) and sometime soon the club is going to start hitting better than average with runners in scoring position. It will all even itself out, imo and I really think were gonna see this offense go on a decent tear at somepoint during the remainder of the season.
  13. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 04:48 PM) He's definately trying to go to right field here. If I were the Rangers I'd try to bust him in on a fastball here. Shows what I know, stays outside and made a perfect pitch.
  14. He's definately trying to go to right field here. If I were the Rangers I'd try to bust him in on a fastball here.
  15. Hits it into the gap but Dellucci is there. Solid piece of hitting by Podsednik though. Kind of ticks me off that Widger isn't at 3rd base cause if that drops he'd of scored regardless, imo.
  16. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 04:45 PM) He's struggling with his control. The last thing you do is give up an out by bunting. Also, it's not like Iguchi has been getting hits with RISP lately. Good point on the control aspect. But I gotta admit, I'm so comfortable when Guchi is up with runners on. He's just such a smart hitter. I don't know what the stats say though.
  17. I'm guessing Pods is taking, but if he ever wanted to let one rip this would be the time.
  18. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 04:43 PM) They got one for you, maybe Juan will shock us and get one too He does Do you consider bunting Pods right here even though it means you have 2 outs for Guchi? I know its not the smart thing to do, but I like the odds of a single scoring two and I think Guchi is about as clutch of a hitter as the club has. Come on Pods
  19. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 04:40 PM) One thing I've noticed is that we're doing a terrible job of drawing walks. We get to a 3-2 count, and we swing at a ton of pitches out of the zone. They got one for you, maybe Juan will shock us and get one too
  20. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 04:41 PM) That changeup is almost comparable to Pedro Martinez's, IMO. If this Volquez can locate his fastball in the future he'll be a decent starter for Texas. Fastball doesn't have any movement, but if he touches 96 consistently there's no need for that. This kid has good stuff. The odd thing is that thus far it hasn't exactly translated into dominating numbers (especially surpising for a kid who has good control those type of guys usually can put up sickening numbers). Still, Rangers have to like his potential, but I know I've read a few places that some see his potential in the bullpen (as a closer).
  21. QUOTE(JimH @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 04:36 PM) I love your enthusiasm, and especially when you back it up with baseball knowledge and personal observation. I hope you are right about this game Jason. It also helps that Widger is behind the plate, imo. I should add, Sox are going to put up a few runs this inning. This is gonna be a Sox whooping tonight and I think the double hitter and getting to see so many pitches in one day is really going to help this club. JD with a bomb as I'm typing this
  22. I'm assuming that was Widge behind the plate?
  23. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 04:31 PM) Second batter into the game and he's already established a decent changeup. This pleases me. Like i mentioned a while back. He was tipping his pitches earlier in the year and when he was sent back he corrected the problem. Because he was tipping it he wasn't throwing it at the big league level and that really hurt him. Were gonna start seeing the real Bmac and I think we all got a little preview of it in the 1st
  24. Now thats what I'm freaking talking about. He threw a few nasty changeups
  25. QUOTE(chisoxfan79 @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 04:27 PM) Don't Worry BMac will give two right back? 6 innings, 2 runs, 7 k's and a Win will be his line.
