  1. Jeff Bajenaru Replaces Jon Adkins in Chicago By Jason Gage FutureSox.com In a surprise move, the Chicago White Sox promoted RHP Jeff Bajenaru from AAA Charlotte. Bajenaru will replace Jon Adkins on the 25 man roster. Adkins was called up on August 1st but pitched in just 5 games. The Sox used Adkins as a mop-up reliever. Bajenaru will likely see action this week as will the rest of the pitching staff as the Sox have limited off-days and a double-header on its way...MORE
  2. Podsednik Activated From DL; Anderson to Charlotte; McCarthy to Start Tuesday By Jason Gage FutureSox.com The Chicago White Sox activated leadoff hitter Scott Podsednik from the 15 day disabled list following Sunday’s 9-2 loss against the Seattle Mariners. To make room for Podsednik, the White Sox sent top prospect Brian Anderson back to Charlotte...MORE
  3. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Aug 28, 2005 -> 07:27 PM) Jas, are you sure about this?? You probably know the whole krod situation better then me but I do remember that happening. I was just putting 2 and 2 together and thinking Frank's injury gave us a loophole, I wasn't sure though..... Ya, the Sox can replace a player thats on the DL. Thats what the Angels did with Krod. He replaced the lefty Dennis Cook (I think thats who it was) who had a brain aneurism (that or Kent Mercker..actually I think it was Merker).
  4. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 28, 2005 -> 06:28 PM) But would you rather have Adkins or Anderson on your playoff roster? They still have the option of putting Anderson on the playoff roster thanks to Frank's injury.
  5. I wish they could of gotten things worked out quicker, but Benson is a good football player and hopefully he can get some action in the next pre-season game and slowly adjust into this league. Its also a great insurance policy this year if anything happens to Jones, cause the Bears are going to be relying on their running game an awful lot on offense.
  6. Going to close this and use the new thread as Griffey Thread #4
  7. I watched some of each game today. Some of those kids are damn good.
  8. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 28, 2005 -> 04:04 PM) I thought that was confirmed yesterday. I was thinking it was everything but official. But I wasn't around yesterday so maybe it was. I know there was a lot of speculation that he'd be brought up and it makes total sense. My guess is Bmac will replace Crede (if Crede goes on the DL) or Adkins will be taken off the roster and than called back up on Sept 1st (I think this is the one exception where you can pretty much send a guy down and immediately call them back up).
  9. I'm trying to find out, but I think Bmac may be making a start against the Rangers.
  10. Haeger seems to be really really good or really really bad. Either way hell of an outing for him.
  11. QUOTE(Cali @ Aug 26, 2005 -> 05:29 PM) Contrary to my Resident Metal Head tag I've been listening to a lot of Fall Out Boy and Alkaline Trio lately. But I got a couple of kick ass shows coming up: October 30 - Meshuggah, The Haunted, and God Forbid September 26 - Unearth and the Dillinger Escape Plan Those are two amazing line-ups. The only problem with the second show listed is that the closest place they're playing to me is the House of Blues in Anaheim. I hate the O.C., but my love for those two bands will overcome Wow, I'm impressed and Fall Out Boy/Alk rock
  12. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Aug 28, 2005 -> 02:55 PM) Visor. ...damnit.
  13. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 28, 2005 -> 02:53 PM) Walker with 4 K's in 2 perfect innings. :gasp: Ssssh...don't tell Ozzie
  14. I saw this get mentioned in some thread, so I figured I'd make a post for those going. That is if people are even interested in seeing who's going and where exactly they will be seated.
  15. Hermy. He's done nothing but succeed with the Sox and is pitching despite being in a whole lot of pain. Jenks has a future as a closer, but that future isn't yet. I want to see him get at least another year of experience in the pen before we make him the closer. The nice thing is he'll probably get a little more experience in late relief next season and the Sox will still have Hermy around as well.
  16. Closed because quite frankly this is way too much of a potential jinx.
  17. Going to close this thread. Most of it was cleaned up, but gonna close it to prevent it from heating up again.
  18. QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Aug 28, 2005 -> 11:34 AM) I said last night that Bartolo Colon would be my CY pick over our two standouts but I'm begining to wonder if Johan Santana might be the guy if he continues to rattle off great starts like today. He needs 5 more wins for serious consideration but he might once again singlehandedly carry the Twins to the playoffs, via the WC of course Colon is who I think will win it unless Buehrle and Garland get hot down the stretch (well one of which). Colon has been a total horse.
  19. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Aug 27, 2005 -> 07:42 AM) You can get real good calamari or real bad ones. Personally, I think it's gotta to be nice and stringy, and not really hard to chew, and crumbed real nice. Ewww...I can't get past the looks of the stringy ones. I know everyone says they are better, but I like the round pieces that don't look as much like squid
  20. Jim, I'll have you know that two days ago for an interview I had I got taken out to this seafood place and didn't order the Chilean Sea Bass for that reason. My mom drills me with that type of stuff if I go out to dinner with her so now Its starting to take effect when I'm not with her. I had halibut, I'm assuming thats an alright fish to still eat (aside from the mercuy I'm sure I'm ingesting)???
