  1. Just throwing this out there, but I know there has been some talk about Hermy going on the bereavement list to go and visit his family member thats ill. If thats the case do you guys think the Sox will call up Bajenaru and give him a chance or will they go with Walker again or a player like Adkins (whom Ozzie is rather familiar with). You even have the outside possibility of Bobby Jenks.
  2. Not to toot my own horn and maybe I was wrong on the Scho thing, but ya....I also had quite a few more nice posts about Hermy.
  3. QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ Jun 27, 2005 -> 08:55 PM) Disregard that. It's a little further out. SHould be a metra line close. Map it Actually, I think the closest line is my metra line, the Aurora line, maybe hinsdale stop? Thanks Chisoxy Just mapquested it and its like 19 miles, which isn't bad. Of course I don't know which part of Chicago thats from, but anyone know if there are some good prices on housing out there?
  4. QUOTE(Steff @ Jun 27, 2005 -> 05:46 AM) Depending on your lifestyle, you may or may not need one. Everyone I know that lives in the city has a car. And again.. just because you live in the city doesn't mean you work there. Several of our IT guys live down there. FWIU there is not a big IT market in Downtown Chicago. On a random sidenote, where is Oakbrook? The company I'm interning for has an office out there as well as in Chicago and I thought it could be nice to try and get a gig out there for a couple weeks. But thats only if Oakbrook is close enough to Chicago.
  5. Julio Ramirez Cade McClown Henry Burris Jeff Blauser Rosie Brown Timo Perez Just to name a few
  6. Wish Freddie nothing but the best in his recovery. He's a class act.
  7. QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Jun 26, 2005 -> 07:03 PM) who is Scott Olson? He started for the Marlins and looked pretty good throwing something like 5/1/3 innings while picking up his first major league victory. I have no idea if he's much of a prospect or not.
  8. The I is definately there. Its basically right next to the part of the H so I think your seeing the H blend in with the right veritcal line of the H.
  9. Texas beat Florida tonight in the 1st game of the finals. Their closer got them out of a tough jam. He got the 1st two outs and looked like he was totally giong to get out of it, than gave up a 2 run single and preceded to walk the bases loaded before striking the last batter out in the 8th. Than it was a routine ninth. Next game is on Sunday.
  10. Thats freaking sick and is now my wallpaper.
  11. Hey Yahtz. Thanks for sharing your site with the rest of us. I like the format for the most part. Its a clean look, the only thing I'd like to see format wise is a little more color or pictures, specifically where the main story is. Haven't read enough of the content yet so I can't comment on that, but I'm looking forward to seeing the development of the site and I think the basis is definately there. I should add based on experience from SoxNet, that I think some of the key things for a Sox website is to make sure you can provide a unique type of content. Game Recaps are nice, especially if you can do them every day. It adds a story everyday and shows a committment, but I also think one of the big keys is to be able to roll out a couple stories a week that offer an outside perspective in a sense. If you see a player struggling, maybe have a story about that player and what he's doing wrong and the adjustments he needs to make. Or have a statistcal type breakdown, kind of like Cheat and some others do (he absolutely rules at that stuff). You could also break down speculative news and talk about the reasons you feel the move was made or analyze something the Sox did. I think all of those things give the site an opportunity to say something different and unique and will help it build a following. I did like the standings section on the minor league section. Very nice looking. In fact the backend details of the site are quite nice. Good luck yahtz and like I said if you ever have any questions in terms of running the site and further develop it, don't hesitate to ask me. Note: I want everyone to know Yahtzee asked me before posting this whether it would be ok to post about his new website.
  12. Stone's a really good analyst, but I don't think he's the type of person that has enough contacts with the organization to break news or know enough to say whether they are going to make a trade or not. I think he's purely speculating on a few need positions he may see mixed with the fact that Kenny is always a player before the trade deadline.
  13. QUOTE(EvilJester99 @ Jun 24, 2005 -> 07:28 AM) Well the way I am seeing it I wouldn't mind giving up BMac and Anderson for Schimdt for the simple fact that Schimdt is a proven Ace and Bmac is not yet proven anything and Anderson where does he fit in here now that the Sox have an over abundance of outfielders already?? Taking on the contract doesn't seem like the Sox would be all that worried about it if they are willing to trade for him does it?? Reinsdorf already said for a difference maker he would spend the cash right? Plus it doesn't appear as though KW or Ozzie are all that in love with El Duque to not deal him or move him to the pen if need be. I wouldn't worry so much about the pen most of the guys have proven solid and Shingo looks to be coming around. Right now I would say the weak link is Vizcaino and if El Duque goes to the pen well he takes his place anyway...IMO. BMac and Anderson for Schmidt = HELL YA
  14. They had the move made and than went back against It. I'd of edited it sooner but have training this week and pretty much zero access to a computer. Anyway closed the thread and pulled the story from FS.
  15. I'm doubling back. Tuesday is looking like the day again.
  16. ATO: Bobby Jenks and Lubisich to Charlotte; Gio to Winston Salem By Jason Gage June 19, 2005 FutureSox.com The first half of the minor league season came to an end on Sunday. All four of the Sox affiliates failed to make the playoffs in the first half, but will be making moves in the coming days to help regroup and to hopefully give at least some of the teams a better shot at earning a playoff bid during the 2nd half of the season...MORE
  17. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jun 19, 2005 -> 08:52 PM) Some did, but not many. I've seen the mass exodus at most Sox games. Most everyone stayed yesterday as well, but that could also be because of the firework show after the game, which I must admit was cool. I was so jacked after AJ's HR.

QUOTE(GASHWOUND @ Jun 19, 2005 -> 08:56 PM) I was thinking about watching it, but I saw it's all long and s*** and seemed like work to watch it I like thinks like the old west and s***, so maybe I'll catch it on the rebound.. maybe if it had an Egyptian pharaoh in it i would've watched I figured with you liking deadwood and all that you would of been way into this. This blows deadwood away, imo, but it doesn't have all the "cocksuckers" that deadwood has. I watched like 15 minutes of Deadwood and I swear they said cocksucker 100 times

QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ Jun 19, 2005 -> 08:53 PM) Shoes. I probably have at least 30 pairs. And I probably only have 5 or 6 pairs in my regular rotation..... But I only buy them on Clearance less than $20. Oh my god....you hit a spot with me. My girlfriend lives with 3 other girls and below their staircase they keep all their shoes. It must be a pad about 10 by 10 stacked 3 rows high. Never in my life have I seen so many damn shoes. I was in shock....could you imagine how high of a shoe building all the women in the world could build if they simply stacked all their shoes on top of one another. Ya, totally random thought, but it just goes great with my 1 pair of shoes (for a suit) my pair of dress shoes (to wear with jeans or slacks...non suit), my pair of sandals (rainbows rule), my pair of basketball shoes, and than my tennis shoes (for everyday wear). All this talk about shoes reminds me of that South Park metrosexual episode. God that was great how pissed off Mr. Garrison gets
  20. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jun 19, 2005 -> 08:44 PM) Little from low-A to AAA? Am I missing something? Organizational move. Or thats my guess.
  21. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Jun 19, 2005 -> 08:48 PM) I'm hoping the best for McCarthy, but unless he's magically developed a servicable changeup, or 3 mph on his fastball, it may be a struggle. He's essentially a two pitch pitcher: plus curveball, straight low 90's fastball. With these soft tossers, if you don't have good location up/down, inside/outside, you will be hit hard. Perhaps a start against the lowly Kansas City Royals will be just what is needed for his confidence. However, both of his starts, most noticeably in Texas, hard hit outs were recording throughout his innings pitched . If Sergio Mitre can string together two quality starts, anyone should be able to. You'd think by accident some pitcher from our minor leagues within 5 years would experience immediate success. And we don't even need a complete game, 10 K shutout--just enough to keep our team in the game. Brandon has more than a serviceable changeup, problem was it wasn't utilized his first time up. The changeup is one of the big reasons he dominated during spring training. In fact his curveball wasn't even working that well in Arizona, so once he gets rolling you'll see him whipping out a good to plus curve and a good to plus changeup along with his FB which is a good pitch (based on his command and the downward plane he gets). I also get the feeling you'll see the changeup a little bit more this time around.
  22. QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ Jun 19, 2005 -> 08:46 PM) They should get some live performances in there. They really had the song working during this Dodger series and I think it would be great after every Sox winner. Ya, it was awesome. I told boz at one point in the game that the Song would help spark the comeback against Brazoban (well something along those lines). Lucky for you guys it did, otherwise I'd be blaming you for a loss on Saturday It was cool meeting you and asshat. I did love calling his cell going hey asshat

QUOTE(GASHWOUND @ Jun 19, 2005 -> 08:43 PM) This was the first ep, but it was a re-run...it premiered last WED I think..the next new one is this WED at 9 central and the Shield finale was last week...season is over..kinda lame season finale though in my opinion I think they're re-airing it tomorrow at 9 central and after that I don't see any re-airings.. Freaking mom must of beat me to watching it and erased it after watching it on DVR. She loves to spite me by going in and erasing stuff I have on there I've been watching Into the West (haven't seen this weeks episode yet) but I loved the 1st episode. Its a pretty badass show/movie, imo.
