  1. Wow thats a nice chart Rex. Looks like the Sox may have a little more cash then some of us think.
  2. Alvarez has resigned with the Dodgers or at least thats what a few people here have posted. I don't remember reading it, but I assume it happened. I know he was expected to.
  3. It seems rather obvious at this point that if the White Sox pick up there starter via the trade route, which is quite possible with the FA market being set as high as it is, then who do you want or do you see as the Sox 5th starter? Personally I think regardless of who they get, they need to pick up a guy to a one year stop gap contract until McCarthy or another prospect is ready. I think Elo would look fantastic as a #5 and I think he'd consider an incentive deal if he doesn't get a great offer anywhere else. Especially if he thinks the Sox are going to be a really good team, cause we've all seen what being showcased in the playoffs can do for someone, plus just being on a good team. However, I think if JR was serious he should take a big time look at Kevin Millwood who will look for a contract similar to Matt Morris. A one year deal with a base of 2-3.5 million and that amount in incentives. Its a great deal for both teams, as if he pitches his ass off the Sox rotation looks phenomenal and the team should be very good and if he doesn't you get him at a solid price and he should (assuming healthy) at least be an innings eater. Plus he's going to have a lot to prove signing a one year deal. I'm more trading Garland/Marte/Anderson for Hudson (if thats what it takes and if the Sox are prepared to offer him 3 to 4 years at 12-13 mill a season). The Sox would see a net increase in payroll of only like 3 million this year, which means they would still have some funds available to add Millwood and maybe even Pyrz to a one year deal (although I'd like to go multi year with him). Then convince Scho to be the left handed reliever if possible. Could you guys imagine Hudson Buehrle Garcia Contreras Millwood Geeze that would be fantastic.
  4. If it helps...I decided I want to have even more fun rooting for the Bulls so I acquired Chandler and Curry in my fantasy league for Rasheed and Abdur Rahim. I may of gave up a bit too much, but my team could use rebounding from Chandler and both him and Curry have high field goal percentages. Plus Curry is a solid fantasy center to go with Shaq. Rasheed is sucking ass but Rahim is solid. My team is losing anyway so I figured the hell with it, gimme the twin kids
  5. No, it was one pitcher and later it came out it was a misunderstanding. I remember hearing an interview with Pyrz talking about it. And yes he would watch his buddies on the Twins play. He commented about it and said hey they are my friends. Guys watch tv all the time in the clubhouse and I like catching up on my good buddies who I came up to the majors with to see how they are doing.
  6. Bulls would obviously be doing this for financial reasons cause they don't care about Williams anyway. But I still think they could get a pick or something and just cut the two.
  7. Ya they were. Luckily they finally appear ready to get back on track.
  8. Ya, its been heavily reported on the radio that those comments were from the first month. After that he had a solid reputation in the Giants clubhouse. They are getting rid of him for financial reasons. Arbitration isn't a wise thing and they picked up a guy whose a stud defensive catcher and a little cheaper (Matheny). However I think it was a stupid move on the Giants part. Heck, ask the Twins mates what they thought of Pyrz. He was the ultimate team guy and busts his ass and plays the game right. Thats what matters. The stuff that one pitcher said a month into the season, which was later to be explained as a miscommunication, sticks with him the rest of his career????
  9. Its all good, back on those teams Caffey was my favorite player ; My friends all laughed, but him and Kukoc were awesome
  10. Well AZ still gets a solid starter, who should be above average in the NL with room to grow. A pretty darn good young reliever thats signed to a more then affordable deal, one of the better prospets in baseball (outfield wise), and another prospect. I would beileve it would have to be one of the Sox better pitching prospects. If it isn't Tracey or Bmac I'd be thrilled with this deal. Although the Sox would need to sign a 5starter to a one year stop gap type deal until Bmac is ready. Maybe even look Millwoods way and give him like a 2.5-3 mill base with like another 2-3 mill in incentives. If Mill earns the incentives than it will be more then worth it cause it means he pitched very good and with him as a 5th starter, I'd think the odds are great that the Sox would be winning, playing exciting ball and maybe going deep...which means higher attendance, etc. But JR would have to step up payroll if they made this deal. God I would be so so so so so Happy
  11. Hey sir, are you a Jason Caffey fan or something?
  12. I would deal Garland, Everett, and a midlevel guy for Vazquez and cash though. The Yanks can do what the hell they want from there. Otherwise, screw it, I'd have no interest. I'd rather offer a package of Garland, Marte, and a prospect for Hudson and lock him up long term.
  13. I do find it out that Arizona would just pull the so called demands of a starting outfielder. This proposed deal seems too good to be true, imo.
  14. Hopefully they'll announce a similar extension from Rowand some time this offseason. Although they may wait for him as well. I have a lot of faith in Juan so I think this is a fantastic move, but people are right, if he regresses it bites the Sox in the ass. I don't think he will though.
  15. I would not give up Anderson or Sweeney or Bmac for Javier Vazquez. Depending on the cash being thrown the Sox way, i'd much rather have Matt Clement, imo. And know that the Sox starting 5 is complete. Also, at this point I wouldn't deal Konerko for Vazquez. I bet the Yanks would love Marte though.
  16. Holy s***...DO IT, DO IT Do IT. I hope that other prospect isn't Bmac, but if its anyone but him I'd pull the trigger no hesitation to it. Also excited that they may look at Pyrz. I'd offer him like a year 2 deal worth 6-7 mill with an option worth 4-5. Or go 3 mill this year, 4 next year and 5 or 6 in the option year.
  17. Ya, I know ManSoo has posted here plenty of times, but if your still online ManSoo, did you hear this directly or see it somewhere else?
  18. Considering Lowe is going to still get 7-8 mill a year I'd go with Clement. I think in the end Clement gets 9/10; Perez 8-9; Lowe 7-8 The rest fall below that, but with those three the only legit guys remaining your going to see prices go through the roof on Perez and then when he goes Boras will lick his chops. Its probably best to overpay for Clement, especially since it appears he'd want to pitch here. Cause otherwise you have no idea whats going to happen and what team guys prefer. This is assuming Clement really wants to stay in Chicago, but who knows, maybe that isn't the case. Also who knows if the Sox really have offered 3/30.
  19. I wonder how true this offer is. I mean sources have been known to be wrong. I guess we'll find out tomorrow cause I'm figuring thats when Clement makes up his mind.
  20. I wouldn't. Nazr is coming into his own, but it looks like Curry is too. At this point I like the way the Bulls are developing. Give them this season to gel and next year, with the right signing, they will be a playoff team.
  21. Badass Evan. Good thing you got to see a good game. Maybe the Bulls should fly you to all of their games
  22. Personally I could give two s***s if Frank is back after this year. If he plays lousy this season in his rebound year then I figure the Sox will do what they can to move him. In this day and age with high salaries its nearly impossible to keep a guy around his entire career, unless he plays at a high level throughout it. We'll see what Thomas does this year. But regardless it would be awesome to have him in a Sox uni his entire career, but at the same time, whatever makes the team better I support.
  23. Sadly they do. But I don't see why not. The guy plays fantastic defense, is fast as hell, has good power, and draws walks. At worse he's going to be Mike Cameron. Best case he'll be a higher average Mike Cameron
