Thats a lot of money for Millwood. I'd of given him that much in incentives but thats way too much guaranteed.

Polanco another option at 2B?
My thoughts exactly. But I have no idea how interested Philly is in cutting Lieberthal without getting much in return. I'm assuming they wouldn't have much use for Everett, but then again, last year they were looking for a power outfield bat and tried to get Walker or Finley. I'm assuming someone like Ben Davis would go to Philly as well(I don't know if he can be dealt now since the Sox non-tendered him and then signed him). However, I don't know if Philly would give up both of them. I think they just need to free up a little bit of cash, but if they did need to free up that much, that deal would definately improve the club and the Sox seem to have the finances to do it, imo.

Solution at C
Zaun would be a very nice pickup. Solid defensive catcher, good offensively. Serious upgrade over Ben Davis.

Haha, I remember you and HSC arguing over Olivo all the time LDF, lol.

I bet at this point, you could re-acquire Olivo at less value then his potential. But I don't think Ben Davis/Jamie Burke is the answer.

Polanco another option at 2B?
Would the Phils do a deal involving Everett as the main piece for Lieberthal? If so I'd be all over the idea of that. Lieberthal is a good catcher, both offensively and defensively. And is a hell of an upgrade over Ben Davis. Catcher is the one spot that scares me, along with El Duque's health.

Polanco another option at 2B?
I agree with you, but would Philly really do it? Are they that desperate to get rid of him, especially since they would have to send cash the Sox way.

Sox targeting 2B
This guy sounds like a solid pickup. I'm assuming he isn't going to get anymore then 2 mill. He's just 30 so he's got plenty of time left and seems to be peaking all of a sudden the past two years. I'm assuming roids aren't crazy out there so the guy must just be putting things together. If he's got good speed and is a good baserunner that be even better. I think he'd be a very good defensive 2nd baseman although its hard to say, but based on readings the guy seems promising.

Fabio Castro
Ahhh yes, it was truly a great day when I was searching through random stats a few years back and was like holy f*** Mike check out this Castro guys numbers. We just figured he was roster fodder and then saw he was an 18 year old lefty at the time. Fab's got some potential, but you got to wonder about durability. It will be good seeing how he does at the higher levels, but I don't know if he'll pitch much in Bham this year or not. I'm assuming he'll start the season in WS.

Meaux and Villacus
Because if it weren't for the minors you wouldn't be able to cheer for guys like Maggs, Buehrle, Caballo, Crede, Garland, etc. Whether your like it or not these type of moves need to be made. In the case of Meaux and Villy, they may not ever effect the major league roster but you never know. At the same time it helps give Bham or Charlotte better ballclubs and some solid vets that will help there team. That also helps every prospect because it helps you be a part of a winning team and when your minor league teams win you hope to teach your players how to win at the lower levels so it carries on up. In Meaux case, I wouldn't write him off, but I think his time to shine, like Bull's, will come with another major league team, unfortunately. Especially since they are both total class acts.

Eric Munson??
I know the Tigers non-tendered him and some people may laugh at this suggestion. But h's a left handed bat that has power. He obviously has to work on his average but this guy had and still has loads of potential. Was the 3rd overall pick back in 1999 out of USC and this is just his 2nd full season. I don't know whether he is much good as a catcher since Detroit hasn't used him, but could be just a solid 3rd catcher. I do like his potential offensively. He's played in 246 major leauge games. 2003: .240 AVG, .312 OBP, 18 HR, 50 RBI, .753 OPS (In 99 Games) 2004: .212 AVG, .289 OBP, .734 OPS, 19 HR, 49 RBI (109 Games) Could be a good minor league pickup too.
