  1. Definately Natty...that stuff is crap and its whats at most parties out here. Mickey I like though.
  2. This would quite possibly be the worse trade ever.
  3. I agree with you on that Jim, but whether the Sox do that or not I don't know. Kenny is definately upset over this FA market and I will agree salaries are a little ridiculous, but at the same time he kind of got himself into this by dealing and creating payroll. I'm sure he has something planned, but right now I think were on what he would go plan D or E.
  4. There was no reason to go after Timo. It was a foolish move then and a foolish one now and it tells you the Sox don't have many moves ahead of them. If they did they would of stalled a little longer on this. On the bright side, don't we find out the non-tenders tomorrow or is that on the 20th?
  5. Don't be too sure. Like I mentioned earlier. I was in my car for a lot of the day. Hectic day at work so I missed most of what was on here and never once heard in the updates any mention of Clement and the ANgels and I've never heard the name Odalis PErez all offseason thus far. Then again they made no mention of Paul Byrd either. ANgels tend to be under the radar. What the media reports they are after, usually isn't true. Just like the medai speculation that Clement was going to get 27-30 mill. They were well off. Could they be off on Perez too, possibly. I just have to hope that seattle is done spending and that Cleveland and Toronto just don't really want Perez like they did Clement.
  6. First they need to address catcher, and Delgado/Beltran, imo. If they add a pitcher, it will be alower tier guy. They also need drastic help in the pen. Kenny can do just fine if he gets Perez for what he offered Clement. I've long said I'd just as well have Perez. If he does that, its all good again.
  7. I'd be fine with that and I heard today quite a few DOdgers fans call in saying they would want Konerko. Then again quite a few were calling in saying with all this money they should try and trade for Ordonez, lol. It would make sense too me, although I'd like to see Gibbons or someone with some power potential brought in to replace Konerko and battle with Gload. ANd I'd definately be all over adding pyrz afterwords.
  8. Scho doesn't have the durability to be a starter. But the guy is and has all the makings of a stud reliever. I dont' care what anyone else tells me. This guy at 1.5 mill a year would be well worth it in the pen and would open up some options cause I'm sure some team would be interested in Marte. Hell, you could probably damn near get Brad Penny for Marte and someone else cause it seems like the Dodgers don't wnat to take the risk of whether he's healthy or not. IT be a ballsy move, but a healthy Brad Penny is a top of the rotation guy.
  9. I'm gonna ask him about Joey McCarthy and see if he responds to that. Then I'll make a Berry/Barry reference. The guy should know the first names of Bmac and Tracey.
  10. I'd rather see Grilli or Diaz, imo. Fogg is not a starter, solid reliever, maybe. But he would get lit up at USCell, imo.
  11. What can I say, I just don't see the Sox able to do anything now. Kenny backed himself into a corner and now JR is gonna have to let the man spend his money. At this point piss it away for all I care. They started this offseason with a need for a starter and they shoudln't hope some great pitcher gets non-tendered. If I hear Kenny talking about Grilli and Diaz other then trade bait at Soxfest I'm gonna yack.
  12. Bahhaaa. I love it, just to spite my dad. Now we'll both be bummed out over the weekend over the patheticness of our two teams. Jose Valentin...there solution to Beltre, ROLF. Valentin is a hasbeen. Lousy as all get up offensively...minus the homers and incredibly selfish. Good riddance.
  13. If the Sox offered 3yr 21 they should immediately offer it to Perez and go from there. Kenny screwed this up big because they could of gotten Perez a week ago at 5-6 mill. NOw they can't.
  14. It sure as hell looks that way. I have zero confidence in then signing Perez and after that the market just isn't all that attractive. I'm pretty pissed out right now. They trade Lee to get a starting pitcher and they f*** that up. A guy that legitimately wanted to stay in Chicago and would of been happy to pitch here. And they won't get Odalis and then we'll be stuck with them talking about how great Robert Person is going to be and how the year off did him well. I may be jumping off the deep end here, but thats it, after Perez the market takes a huge dropoff and screw Vazquez, he isn't worth the money he's going to get and after seeing what the Dbacks or Yanks want for them its a ridiculous thing to do. Your just as safe signing Perez who may be as good of a pitcher as him and having him signed cheaper then Vazquez without giving up Garland (novel concept).
  15. If they don't have a starting pitcher by Fest (and I mean 5 solid starters) my tone will be the exact opposite as its been throughout Kenny's tenure. I swaer to god if they let 1.3 mill a year get in the way, screw em. The Sox just gave that piece of crap Timo 1 mill. What the hell. Timo's alright, but Escobar is just fine too.
  16. Welcome aboard.....you see the dilemma to all this is the Sox felt they would rather have Timo Perez :puke
  17. Now now brown cow. I've been a Skiles believer since they hired him. But ya in general people are starting to turn. But one 3 game winning streak and they'll be b****ing again, lol.
  18. Piazza's a piece of s***, I got no problem with Pedro wanting a real catcher. The guy has been a selfish ass bag his whole career (Piazza) constantly refusing to play 1st base because he wants the catcher record. The guy has been a piss poor catcher his entire career and hurts his team because of it and isn't willing to move to first. Screw the ahole. I hope Mota runs from him again this spring, LOL.
  19. I was looking through the standings in the East today and realized the way the Bulls are playing they got a shot to pull what the Heat did last year. I'm enjoying the way they play, especially the defense, and I think they will get better as the season goes. I don't know if they'll get in, but if the east continues with its usual of having two rather poor teams make the playoffs, I think the Bulls definately got a shot.
  20. The Bartolo Colon trade was a very good one, even if the Sox didn't pan out. He came in and did what was expected of him. The Damaso Marte deal was a very good one too in recent years. FA wise, Elo was fantastic and Bobby Jenks could be a big reward type of move.
  21. I'd put AJ, and then Polanco or Hairston. If Hairston gets non-tendered and the Sox fall short in the pitching runnings I could see htem get a cheaper 5th, Pyrz, and Hairston. Then if they need to Kenny can make a move at the deadline.
  22. By the way, you going to Soxfest? I'll finally get you that shirt that I promised ya a year ago
  23. If were going to do that, lets merge this thread into it. That way all the information can be found there. I can split it if people disagree, but I'm going to merge it right now. Also for a bit of an update. I was in the car a lot of the day running docs around for work and I didn't once hear any mention on sports talk of Clement on the Angels. At the same time they were all b****ing about the Dodger trade and then a few guys that are pretty good said they were pretty sure the deal was off at this point. Said Green wants a contract extension for good money.
  24. Can someone quickly update me? Are the SOx talking to lowe all of a sudden? Been swamped at work and have only been able to read a few posts all day. Was just refreshing every once in a while hoping to see a Sox Sign Clement thread, lol.
