  1. This was me assuming. But I remember the LA radio stations saying he wasn't interested in coming to LA cause they were rumored to potentially pick him. I don't think talks ever got too serious. (between LA and Tor)
  2. Josh, were seeing eye to eye on this. If the Sox found a way to get those three (SP being Perez or Clement)...damn would I be happy.
  3. I'd like to see Pyrz, Perez and a non-tendered infielder or Polanco. Don't think that will happen unless the Sox free up some more payroll in another deal. I think catcher is a bigger void then infield now so given the choice Perez and Pyrz.
  4. Ya, I like Rogers as a writer, but it seems like everyone is kind of out of the loop in terms of who they are targeting. Seems like Kenny's under the radar thing is working thus far. Hell, if the Sox win a world series, maybe we should rename the site to www.undertheradar.com
  5. I don't think that was the case. It was that he didn't want to go anywhere at the break. He didn't want to move one place for a few months and then have to move again. Thus moving twice in a short period. This time its just once. Although if I recall, he's not much of a fan of the city of Chicago.

With things the way they are I think Garland should stick around. I'm a big Garland fan and still hold hope of him turning things around.
  7. If the Angels have pitchers locked up by then, then yes, I see them potentially getting rid of them. However, If I were them, I'd try and shop Wash and get a little something for him. I do think he's going to get overpaid in arbitration and the Angels could be better off exploring other avenues. At the same time Washburn could be a solid piece to offer up in a RJ deal. And now that the Sox have this type of money I really have little interest in Washburn. I'm not a fan of his anymore. Two years ago or even last year I liked him thought he could turn the corner, but I think he's a 4.5 ERA type of guy. Not bad, but nothing good.
  8. If Konerko starts the season hot I could see the Sox locking him up, especially if they have plans of potentially moving Thomas. Konerko is a leader and a good guy. I have no problem dealing him either, but he is a very quality guy. I'm hoping he turns into a Jim Thome like masher from the right side of the plate (minus all the strikeouts).
  9. Ya I don't have a problem with Clement. I do have a problem with Milton at anymore then 4 million. Which means if I were a GM he'd never play for my team, lol.
  10. True, but I've been accurate in other areas, lol. But I wish I woudl of been right about Johnson
  11. I think Frank will renegotiate next offseason.
  12. I would if they went out and picked up a FA shortstop. But the Sox won't do that. Otherwise I'd be more then happy with that move.
  13. Also had like the highest flyball ratio in baseball this past season. I'd yack if they got Milton.
  14. Here's a little analysis from me. Hearing him constantly mention Scho's name or another pitcher makes me almost think the Sox have a move coming up. Think about it, if Scho is an option its going to have to happen quickly cause the Sox will have to offer him arb or a contract by mid December. Otherwise he isn't going to be an option. I don't think Scho is back and I think Kenny already is fairly confident that he has another move coming, in fact, he may just have a few more moves coming. Its still quite early in the offseason and if he addresses one or two areas then he can go back to improving the club to whatever his vision is.
  15. Just going to throw something out there. Says he's trying to fly under the radar. Kenny has some talks and drums up some interest in Clement (from the Sox) and then slides in and gets Perez while most of the teams worry over Clement. Just a possibility. On a sidenote I think the Sox may have another move in store tomorrow and I expect one to happen by the end of the work week.
  16. I miswrote that, it was Scho or Grilli.
  17. Its amazing the shift in opinion between the two boards as a whole on the most part. I think its fairly realistic to say that most people here are more optimistic or realistic while there is heavy pessimism there (on the most part). I don't care what any of us think though, as long as the Sox can win the series
  18. Ya, I'm listening. - Says they tried to slug it out the past few years and failed - Says they entered the offseason with 4 good starters and are still there at this point - Continues to talk about how this move will give consistency to the offense - Defensively they are a better team (especially in the outfield) - Mentioned specifically about Pos in left field - Speaks about the power dropoff and says they lived and died by the homerun but they are looking for a more consistent offense so the pitchers have a chance to win on a daily basis - They asked him about defense and he says he always knew about the importance of it (the question referenced how you don't see the statistics of it). Says the team lost to a better defensive club in the Twins and how the Twins would constantly save themselves. He talked about the infield and mentioned Crede, Uribe and Harris. - Won't get into "specifics" with what they are trying to do. Says its no secret they are interested in adding a top tier type pitcher and if the opportunity presents itself then they will go with a top tier pitcher. If not, they will go with Scho/Grilli and have more money to play come June or July (then they did in the past). On a sidenote it really sounds like he has a plan in mind. Just from his tone. - They bring up Boras and he says that it doesn't mean an opportunity could present himself where they actually see eye to eye on something. Says in general they haven't been able to afford his clients and put together a good team. But if its a fair deal for the player and the club, then fine. Thats pretty much it, don't think I missed anything.
  19. Kenny has more deals on tap. No doubt about it in my mind.
  20. I have ESPN radio on. I'm assuming he's going to be on the national broadcast?
  21. Andrew, the Bulls have played pretty good the past 7-10 days. Its actually quite pleasant.
  22. f***ing horses***. Finley with 3 buzzer beaters tonight. I still don't think that ball was off of Chandler either. At least not based on the replay I saw. Bulls killed the Mavs tonight and are going to lose cause Finley had two buzzer beaters and then this shot.
  23. Dirk misses the 2nd foul but Josh Howard gets the board and the ball rolls out of bounds and they say it was off Chandler. CHandler was pissed at the call. 7.1 seconds left and the Mavs down by 1 with the ball. Not looking good.
  24. Dirk fouled by Chandler and is going to the line. Nocionni went for a steal and it kind of forced Chandler to foul.
  25. 12 seconds to go and Gordon may of saved Curry's ass for making a horribly stupid foul on Michael Finley. This is after he took a stupid ass shot. He has played quite well tonight though. Come on Bulls...DEFENSE
