Exactly - they outsmarted themselves. You take your shot with Rodgers and than if you fail - you hope he gets another shot. At least you know you took every shot with your MVP.

I get it - the analytics are blended and probably ignore two facts. 1 - you have Rodgers - top 2 QB in the league - which increases your probability in terms of 4th down success. Additionally - on the other side you hand the ball to the GOAT - Tom Brady, which has to greatly reduce your likilihood of getting the ball backs. That said - the factor all of us are probably ignoring is the analytics would say giving Brady the ball back with 2 minutes (if the Packers went for it on 4th down and were to score a TD/ get 2 point conversion)...there is the fact that Brady has decent shot at getting his team down the field and into FG position for a game winning kick. But at least you have a chance. I still say - go for it - if you miss - the probabilty of getting the ball back is much higher when the Pats are inside their 10 yard line vs. where they started (closer to the 20).

I'm kind of curious why everyone is implying Rodgers lost the championship game. Yes - he threw a pick, but he did throw 3 TD's and had his receivers drop some throws all while getting the snot knocked out of him. He played really good, especially when you factor the durress he was under all game. One could argue whether he could have ran in for that TD in the end or not - but bottom line - Rodgers was the better QB on the field yesterday - his team wasn't though. And I still cringe over that coaching decision - that was just brutal. Talk about outsmarting yourself.

I legit believe the Bears would be at the top of his personal list of teams to join. I legitimately think he wants nothing more than to have a chance at sticking it to the Packers. And I'm not going to lie - I'm 100% okay if that happens

This is a good hire by bears. Will be interesting though given lame duck situation what sort of positional assistants he can find.

Anyone curious to see if the Bears flip to a 4-3 defense. Seems like some of the DC's they've brought in are 4-3 options and honestly - I don't know that the roster is that bad of a fit for a move to 4-3 vs. 3-4. Probably means Hicks is moved (which I love Hicks) - but he's aging and probably not someone you are going to give another contract too. I think Mack/Quinn/Roquan fit nicely in it and I think Goldman still does as well. It also probably is a better fit for Danny T at this point too.

It is why as much as getting someone like Watson is great - I can just as well make the argument to acquire assets while taking a swing with the 1st round / 2nd round pick that we have as well and maybe doubling down and taking a shot at Winston (or whomever you think is a reclamation project - D'Arnold or Wentz would have been on my list as well). Feels like a way to approach it without completely mortgaging the future (which is the only way this team could get Watson).

And I know those were just IL numbers - but literally across the country this should be a wartime effort - like literally no excuse. GET IT DONE.

COVID-19/Coronavirus thread
It shouldn't be political. I get Affordable Care act and the political aspect of that - but coronavirus should never have been as political as it was made to be. And the politicans should have all been big boys & girls as it related to that (even if the president was unable to - the rest of them should have been able to). Period - no excuse.

COVID-19/Coronavirus thread
I'll just make it clear - we are in a pandemic - there is zero excuse for this to not be a 7 day a week 24/7 type of thing. Period. If I could get my vaccine at 3 AM - I would get my vaccine.

Hector wrong. Again. - Cruz back with Min
Did he ever actually say the Sox are going to sign Cruz? Or just good news and re: Cruz. Maybe its as simple as Cruz is not going to be back with the Twins.

My crazy idea - trade Mack for some picks (I think you can get 2 2nd's). Franchise and Trade Arob (maybe you get a 2nd rounder - maybe). Than you have some capital - not enough for a Mack - but you have enough to where you give up this years 1st, one or 2 of those 2nds, plus next years 1st and maybe that is enough. I just don't like any scenario where we trade the next 3 years worth of 1st round picks. I also would probably be just as fine doing the 2 trades I reference above and just taking a swing at any of the QB's on the board and just stock up the line and wideouts and essentially build assets. If it works - great, you got your QB and you've gotten a lot younger and while your cap looks bad this year - it will start looking pretty good a year from now. If the QB you took doesn't look the part - go right back at QB again (at that point - you should have an even higher pick) + cap space and with those moves whether Pace is still calling the shots or not - if you pivoted away from Nagy you should be a pretty attractive destination.

Ragone reportedly likely to be the next OC of Falcons. That said - Bears have a pretty solid supporting staff with Lazor and Defillipo. I truly believe both are quality coaches and guys who make QB's get better. Trubisky isn't good enough - but he was certainly a better player in 2021 than he was in 2020. Evidently Nagy is all in on Watson.

I keep saying J&J is the one that can be the game changer. Was really bummed to see their manufacturing efforts were quite behind. If we get good news from them - not only is it another shot out there, ramping up distribution - but the one and done is a huge deal. Can get double the coverage with the same # of shots...and immunity a few weeks faster. Like - literally - it could cut the window to get everyone who wants to be vaccinated down by month(s). My fingers are crossed for good news - I still have my own personal goal - I want to have gotten at least an initial dose of the vaccine by March...which would mean my own personal objective of immunity by end of April.

2020 NBA Regular Season Thread
I feel they have barely played last two weeks. But I've been really enjoying this season. Helps that I freaking LOVE basketball. I am pretty worried about my ability to still play pick-up ball. I don't know how me and my regular pick-up crew's bodies are going to react from a 1YR hiatus. We would rent an indoor court at one of those big gyms once a week (after all of our kids went to sleep). Was always one of my favorite outlets - get some good exercise, healthy smack talk, and than shoot the sh*t on what is going on in the NBA / etc. Than weekends we'd all bring our kids (all of us have kids somewhere in that 4-10 year old outlet) and they'd run around the park and we'd all shoot too (better yet - we were all giving our significant others a break too). It was the ultimate win win Sorry for the random sidebar - I just love basketball. Good thing is I've been teaching my kids during COVID and got my 5 year old hitting buckets on a 10 foot basket (not from far though). He's on the small side so show him highlights of Bogues and found a book on Steph Curry as a kid I've read a ton of times to him :). Next step 40 foot jumpers and my own retirement. I can be a less extreme Lavar Ball.

Yeah - I have zero interest in Singletary as a DC. Bears D staff is about to get raided. That said - the former Arizona DC is at least intriguing.

I'm really bummed that Philly seems to be failing forward. I was kind of excited with the thought of taking a chance on a guy like Carson Wentz.
