Bad news...Honel was removed from the game due to soreness in his shoulder. He will be re-evaluated today. I'm off to school, but when I get back I'll get up a story on it. Sounds like a precautionary measure.

I'm going to guess Rauch didn't throw that many innings since pitchers are typically on a lower pitch count right out of the gate. If you look, not many major league pitchers are throwing more then 6 innings in their first starts and the same is expected out of minor leaguers. I don't think their is much concern over Rauch's start. It was a good debut. Honels was solid as well, but by the 7k's and 3 walks, I'm guessing he threw a ton of pitches in those 4 innings and the Sox aren't going to take any chances overusing them early or overusing them at all.

Am I mistaken or aren't the Hummel's cousins?

I still think sometime this season he will see some more time out of the rotation. Its just right now Kanny is so stacked and Castro has absolutely dominated out of the pen that they would be better off with him there.
-
Well Brian Miller gave up 7 runs in the first two innings for Kanny. Lisk had a two run double in the game though and Chris Young hit a solo homer. All of Miller's runs were earned and he lasted just 1/1/3 innings.

Honel started for the Barons. In the 4th or 5th he had given up 4 runs. Brownlie was starting for the Cubs affiliate, West Tenn and was pitchin a shutout when I was last paying attention to the game.

I watched bits and pieces of it. Parts of it were solid and parts of it were lame. Didn't watch near enough of it to make an overall statement, but it was amazing that it took up 3 hours of programming.

Ya, I'll agree with you on that Brando. For all the awards and honors those people had at such young ages, I really expected them to perform better. And the women did do an excellent job early on.
-
Well Konerko had an RBI single in the game.

I'll give you that, but the last thing I want to hear is him yapping about how great he is and how he can be sucessful at business and entertainment. Of course I'm sure he's already preaching that.

From what I heard from a buddy that watched the game (I was stuck at school), Scho pitched awful the first two innings. The defense saved him, but then he got out of his rut and went on to pitch pretty well, with his line mistake on the homer to Posada. I'm assuming part of his early inning woes were due to the fact he hadn't pitched in like 10 days. I think he made his last appearance on the 28th of March.

Brando, your right that I'm into those premises. But I saw the first two episodes the show and just didn't like the way it was done. On the most part it was just a bunch of people sniveling behind peoples backs trying to soley help themselves. While that is what business is like, I don't think thats the best way people do business. Give me a team of people that are unified and want to work together and that will result in a sucessful company (well sales or marketing tema) over 5 people that will continue to crawl, scratch and cheat their way to being better then the other (Although the competition would be good). I just don't like Trumps comments toward business and I don't think of business in the way the Don does. And I have to admit, I love seeing his casinos going bankrupt cause its finally starting to show Trump for the phony he is. Give me the money he inherited, and I could easily be as sucessful, if not more sucessful and I'd be 100 times less the prick then he is. And SPIFF,

I won't watch the show cause I got absolutely no respect for Donald Trump.

Tell that to Krispy Kreme. They probably made 10 mill off of him alone last year

Bones, I think Steve's got some competition now Although I must admit, I'm missing amanda bynes now

Good work as always Alex I'm looking forward to seeing how that staff does in Bham. It should be pretty stinking good. And Rex pointed out to me that they got a lot of veteran bats, so once again it should be a team competing for the postseason.

While Sweeney may move to 1st, soley because of the strenght in the outfield (I still find it unlikely; I think Reed is moved to 1st before he is) but since he is an outfielder I wanted to keep him at that position. Also, I like Lopez more as a prospect then Gray, but I think Gray is one of those guys that will rake the ball. It was hard seperating what I think a guy can do in the majors with what kind of numbers and play they will have with their specific team. With Lopez, I think he'll improve offensively while Gray will hit the cover off the ball although I agree he has some definate concerns defensively.

I Think no matter what, unless you got Gagne or a healthy Rivera or Percival, you feel that way in a sense. He pitched good today and I can only hope he regains the form that led to him getting 4 straight 40 save seasons. Here's to his 5th (not straight) 40 save season.

Koch has to over come this, he pitched good to Beltran who then got a single. Now its Beltran.
