  1. Konerko gave his a ride too, but the winds blowing in over there. I think on a normal day it just gets out of there. Don't worry about Jose guys, and this is coming from me. Jose is still adjusting and he is seeing a lot of pieces. He'll make the adjustments. He can't be any worse then he was last year, even with all these k's. And this is coming from one of Jose's haters. Damn it, as I type this, Guil hits one out.
  2. The ump squeezed May on a few pitches too. Last game was just as bad. I notice the umps really aren't calling too many strikes early on. I noticed it yesterday in the Angels game as well, how they were squeezing Colon. One other observation I have is that Elo isn't throwing his changeup or curve much at all. He finally threw a backdoor slider, but for about a two inning period all I say was fastball and cutter. I do love how he varies his velocity between 87-94 on those pitches cause it really keeps hitters off balance, but when you also put in a changeup, your slider, and of course the curve...its even more devastating and its why he was so awesome last year.
  3. Uribe has really quick hands, but a really herky jerky swing. I think Walker has a lot of work ahead of him, but I like his potential and he's going to have some huge hits this year. He's also going to have some strecthes where he's awful, imo. I think Harris has a good season though, I see a .272 or .273 average and quite a few steals. I also think Olivo is going to at least double his home run total and get his average up into the .250-.260 range. He could go higher, but I also see him drawing quite a few walks and cutting down on his strikeouts and of course being the best damn defensive catcher their is
  4. Anyone know if its raining in KC or do they think they can get the game in?
  5. Colon looked real good. He got squeezed by the ump early, but he looks in solid shape and was throwing the hell out of the ball. He'll definately be missed. If we still had him...I'd be feeling really damn good..although I still feel good.
  6. I see Killa and RPS around, but neither post that much anymore. Don't know about Yossarian.
  7. You'll be glad Brando...Jugger has been around quite a bit since opening day (well since yesterday )
  8. No idea, I just know when I looked at the thing a few days ago it said it was up on the 26th.
  9. Didn't say I want to see the Royals win. But it is great to see a city like Kansas City step up its effort in supporting the Royals. They won't average 30,000 a night, but an improved attendance is good for baseball in general. In fact, I'm going to go out on a limb and say this is going to be a season that helps put baseball back on the map (in terms of getting closer to football, which is probably thought of overall as the #1 sport...not by me). I love football, but i LOVE baseball
  10. Hey Greg...you happen to go to Kauffman yesterday? Place really sounded like it was buzzing, which is great to see, considering how far Royals baseball has gone since the George Brett does.
  11. Hell ya, thats what I'm talking about Brando, minus Wee Willie, I expect big things from him this year. Well, maybe not big, but solid. Good seeing you Brando and I hope things are better with you, was sorry to hear about your loss.

Count me in as a Brand New fan. They have a good, unique sound to them. Never heard the warlords, will have to listen to check out their website and download a few clips.
  13. I should add, Baggs hasn't been around lately, but I he kind of comes and goes. I think he is still working on getting his computer back up.
  14. WSC is coming back on April 26th (His suspension is up). As far as BMR and Clujer and Roman...well it was a really ugly few days and all hell broke lose.
  15. Gashie is back around and Heather will be here a lot more as the Sox season gets rolling. She's been busy working on becoming a teacher. RPS is swamped with work and isn't no the net near as much.
  16. Hey Cap, you konw I agree with you. I'm not going to write off any player after one outing, well except Jose Paniagua Koch looked a lot better in his one game then he ever did last year. I'm cautiously optimistic. Either way, I'm feeling a little better when I think of him coming back to his old form, then I ever did last year. I sure hope he could get rolling, cause if he does, it would be HUGE.
  17. I think in the future were going to do some articles on different areas of the team. Relievers dont' get talked about enough, but Bullard and Baj are definately some of the best we got in the organization. Good idea Jreed fan and if anyone ever has any suggestions or pieces they would like to see, just tell us
  18. Neither would make this team. However, I do think Rupe is a pretty stinking good prospect. I think Ring is solid, but was overrated because he was taken in the first round. Joe Blanton, who KW passed up on and the whole incident is pretty well publicized from MoneyBall, would of been a much better selection. Rupe is the guy the Sox will miss, imo. I've been saying this since day one, so we'll see if I'm right.
  19. Lol...Ozzie was hired because the Sox think he can do what Tony Pena did. Had Pena not done such an amazing job with the Royals last season, then I don't think Ozzie woudl of had much of a shot. JM had this team lolly gagging and the Sox felt Ozzie was the right type of attitude to fire this guys up and keep them lose. He's going to make mistakes, but I think he can get the job done. As far as Kenny, he's really improved since becoming GM..at least in my book.
  20. I'm sure if they offered quite a bit more it would of happened, but I also think at least a few of them felt they were better off going to college. Its very probable that all of the guys you mentioned will be taken higher after 2-3 years of college baseball.
  21. The Sox simply took flyers on guys that were really leaning hard to college or wanted big time money. Can't blame the Sox, they took their chances, just like they did when they nabbed Sweeney in the 2nd. Overall I think they had a good draft.
  22. I've been behind on them LDF, but I want to get them out sometime in the next 7 days...I'm still hoping befor the minor league season starts. Got two reports, a test, and then a group report all due in the next 4 days, but after that..I'll be getting my ass in gear. Sorry to hear about your tough year, hopefully everything is picking up
  23. I'm assuming when this was written they didn't know that Sweeney was going to be with Anderson and Nanita in Winston Salem (High A Ball). Cause it has Young and Sweeney playing together. Did BA and Insiders merge on a content deal? Also, I don't quite think this is Stumm's make or break year. Heck, he's just got to stay healthy, but he's still got good stuff. I think this will be a key year for him, but not his make or break year. He gets going and stays healthy then he can get back on the major league path, otherwise, it'll be another prospect to not make the show due to injuries (sad, but its just the way it is).
  24. It was more so a hunch. I think Anderson will be rushed this year and it will have a negative effect on his stats. I do think he'll be a very good major league player. I think the Sox will be very patient with Young (With all the great outfielders, he'll be moved along slowly), so he should be more productive. In this article I look at stats and a little bit at projections as who is going to make the team. And as you saw with Young, and potentially even Bounds, it isn't necessarily the guy with the most upside that made it.
