  1. Hankins/Burke and Rivera will probably all catch and play 1st. Burke and Hankins will also play some 3rd or at least thats my guess.
  2. Russ was supposed to be one of the best JC pitchers out there. He's pretty raw though. I know the Sox have a lot of work to do with his delivery, so I'm assuming they figure another year is better for him. Nothing wrong with another short season for Nach, considering he's out of high school, plus he was shallacked last year. Those two were probably the two hardest throwing guys the Sox drafted.
  3. I'd think that somehow, pretty quickly, one of those pitchers will be on his way up to Winston Salem. But ya, I really want to get to Kanny to watch that rotation, some really good arms. I'm guessing Tisch will stay in the bullpen (Isn't that what he did last year?). I hope Dizzard starts, I like him to a Zito (Don't ask me why, but I just like him a lot and I'm not saying he'll be as good as Zito) and I hope the Sox dn't mess with Deininger or Castro. I like those guys a lot and I'm all for Castro being in the rotation now.
  4. Still better then Michael Moore
  5. That crazy hippy...man thats awesome. I can so see him working the streets during the offseason
  6. Pedro freaking clocked Segui. This could turn into a bean brawl if he drills another guy inside.
  7. For the major league roster, check out www.whitesoxcentral.com For the minor leauge rosters, check out www.futuresox.com FutureSox has Kanny's, Winston Salems, and Charlottes Roster up. We are still waiting to receive the announcement from the Barons, and then that will be up
  8. Nice, are you working on another movie Cali?
  9. Sweet, I'll merge mine into that one and move it over here. I thought I had seen one, but couldn't find it when I checked before making the post.
  10. according to Gammons, the other prospect is also a top 10 prospect.
  11. Exactly, I see at least another one of the Cubs pitchers going down for a while. I just don't like Baker and I've said it for a while that he will ruin the Cubs young pitchers.
  12. If I missed one, sorry, but the season starts in a few minutes and I realized we don't have our thread. So put down the predictions and after a week we'll lock the thread, bury it in the archives and pull it up at the end of the season to see how everyone did. AL West Angels A's Mariners Rangers Al Central White Sox Twins Indians Royals Tigers Al East Yankees Red Sox - Wild Card Blue Jays Orioles Devil Rays NL West Padres Dodgers Diamondbacks Giants NL Central Astros Cubs Cardinals Brewers Reds Pirates NL East Phillies Marlins - Wild Card Braves Expos Mets I think the Phillies and Astros will play to see who goes to the series. Phillies will win. In the American League, I see the Angels playing the Red Sox in the ALCS. Angels win. Angels over the Phillies AL MVP - Vlad Guerrero NL MVP - Jim Thome AL Cy Young - Mark Mulder NL Cy Young - Roy Oswalt
  13. Hell ya, I was thinking the same thing. Plus I think thats a pretty good pick, but at least he's got the guts to go out on a limb. OH ya, Book it, Cubs finish 2nd in the division behind the Astros. Astros staff is just as good, but their offense is superior as well as their defense. The Cubs have a lousy defense and for a while will be lacking a 4th and 5th starter (cause I don't think Clement is any good anymore).
  14. Darn them all for taking the Padres...thats my pick for the West. Kruk is going to be good on Baseball tonight, I'm really looking forward to him.
  15. Definately a good deal for both teams. I think the Dodgers gave up too much, but you can't look past what Bradley has done. He had like a .435 OBP and is an offensive machine. Hell, if he wasn't such an ass, he'd be comparable to Carlos Beltran, who a ton of people think of as SPECTACULAR. The Dodgers can now move Green to 1st and Encarnacion moves to right and well, the Dodgers now have a semi decent offense with those three.
  16. I think Borchard is going to put it together this year. He was getting some good swings when healthy this spring.
  17. Look out for King, he really started raking the ball late last season. The guy put up MONSTER numbers in college. He's a smaller stature guy, kind of like Rowand, but I think he'll put up some fantastic numbers. And man, Kanny has a stacked roster, imo.
  18. Kelly was an early pick, I know that much. He's out of Pepperdine and played first and outfield there.
  19. Anyone know whats wrong with Wing? That scares me, I really am high on Ryan Wing.
  20. Charlotte should have a good team. A lot of solid veterans and a very good pitching staff. The Sox farm system is getting pretty strong again and I think it will continue to do so.
  21. That was someone else. His teammate, can't remember his name right now, was drafted by the Sox but didn't sign. Nanita played at Florida International and the only question with him is whether he put up such great numbers because of his college experience, kind of like Edgar Valera did his first season in the organization. I like Nanita a lot though. Fluid swing, good speed, not much power, but if he can rake the ball and do those things, he could project as a very good 2 hole hitter. The Warthogs should be FUN to watch. Also, Pedro Lopez is a pretty toolsy player that I think will develop the stick.
  22. Nice stuff Alex. Munoz will be in the rotation in Birmingham. He is being converted to a starter, as is Ryan Meaux (Who will also be in Birmingham's rotation) alongside Wing and Honel.
  23. Honel spent the entire season in Winston Salem (High A Ball) last year and put up pretty good numbers. Wing's were better, but Honel dominated in the post season and was one of the best pitchers in that level. AA should be a good challenge for him, but I got no doubt he's ready. I think next year Honel will at least have an outside shot at a starters spot.
  24. How the hell, did they get Guiterez out of that deal. The tribe was giving up on the guy.
