Wright to start Sunday
This is a good move as it ensures that the Sox will have the top four going against the Twins. Now come on Sox, split the series against Boston with a win tonight

US Cellular renovations
I think they should lower the upperdeck and make a homer porch. Other then that, I think the Sox already have a pretty nice stadium, although green painted seats would be really nice, imo.

If we make the playoffs
I think both of our catchers are our best bunters, along with Harris, Alomar Jr, and Rowand. Jose and Graffy are alright too.

Job stress, Work burnout
Right now I'm a lazy ass. 20 hours of work and then school And school is actually fun for me. Only thing that blows is homework, but I figure do the homework now...get a kick ass job...retire early

Out on a limb
I've been feeling this is the year since Spring Training. Then around June I decided things were over (I obviously was wrong). Now I hope the Sox just play to their ability, if they do that, this is gonna be a special year on the SouthSide.

Appier Gone!
Grienke is an unbelievable pitcher. Imo, he may be the best pitching prospect right now.

Job stress, Work burnout
not right now I'm not, but I'm sure I'll be working a gazillion hours when I first get out of college.

Appier Gone!
He put the Royals in position to win in 3 of the 4 starts. Wasn't his fault they didn't score the runs. I'm going off memory here, but I thought he had 3 quality starts. I know he lost one game where he gave up like 2 runs.

And to lighten things up
Thats BS...life in PRISON is what he should get. In my law class today we were discussing a case that our teacher is doing right now (no names were mentioned) and its currently in the appeal process. But this guy is accussed with intent to kill his wife (She only had a minor bruise on the back of the neck and evidence proves her story is wrong (She was too big for the story too cooberate; csi style); but the original attorney never called any expert witnesse so basically he was screwed out of a fair trial). Anyway, he's in prison for 25 years unless his appeal gets heard. This guy actually kills someone and gets less time...what a joke.

And to lighten things up
This isn't a thread about a stance if abortion is right or wrong. I just found it darkly hilarious that people who were pro-life were killing people. I agree with you. It would be like peace protesters killing people. The whole thing was stupid. As far as abortion goes, I really don't know what to think. I think killing a person is wrong, yet I also don't think having a child with unwanted or unfit parents is any better. I mean whats better, a kid that becomes a druggy in society and steals, etc or a kid that isn't there to begin with. I guess every kid deserves that chance to prove they can be good, but its a tough call, one I wouldn't be comfortable making, thats for damn sure. I know if I knocked up a girl right now I wouldn't want to take care of her, but if she wanted to keep the baby and its her call, then I'd have to do what needed to be done and work more hours and basically put that kid first and my goals last.

If we make the playoffs
I agree with you. I am mad at a couple of things. The Sox didn't get many hits, but when they had the opportunities they didn't come through. Manuel has to stress those points after a loss like todyas and use it as an example of what not to do offensively.

Appier Gone!
Don't be shocked if you see Grienke called up if the rotation gets in any more shambles.
-
Appier Gone!
Appier won a couple games for them and thats all that matters to the Royals. it was worth it to them just to get that little bit out of him.

More september callups
Yep...I'm guessing they are opening a spot to move someone not on the 40 to the 40. I think thats what they did with Rios. They moved Rios to the 40 and designate Porzio. Porzio now has to clear waivers and if he does then he's back with the Sox, although he could be a minor league free agent or something.

Bartolo
If Frank is three to four steps off the bag at second in the first inning, he's toast. The ball was no more then 30 feet out of the infield, and Walker just let it drop. 3 steps and looking at the infielder. Walker has to turn and then make a throw. He should easily get back in time at that distance, imo.

Boston comes to town: 9/2 Gamethread
I wonder if we'll see much of Miles. I don't know how they could get him in, since he isn't really a shortstop. I'd be playing a bit more of Graffy right now. And once again, I'll say that I would only want Jose back at a cheap rate next year (like a mill) and if that option vests it better be because he earned at bats down the stretch.

Both pitchers have failed to live up to their hype, but in the 2nd half both have been much better and if they can dominate the rest of the way and pitch good in the playoffs (if they get there) then I'll be happy. I know the guys can flat pitch and I hope both of them are wearing Sox uni's for a long time.

Bartolo
Agreed...heck of a start. Its too bad Carlos hit into the doubleplay. Williamson made a good pitch and Carlos didn't really try to pull it, unfortunately it went right to the 2nd baseman. In the 1st I thought it was a joke that Frank wasn't on 3rd. I never got to see a good replay on Frank's baserunning, but he must of really f'd it up. He should of been at least 4 steps off of 2nd waiting to see if the ball would be caught. Considering the 2nd baseman fielded it, bobbled it and then had to turn around to make a throw there is no freaking excuse to get thrown out. I'd say that was probably the key play of the game. I had the BoSox cast and they didn't talk about it, and I don't know whether Hawk and DJ did, but I'd say that was bigger then Clee's double play. I will excuse Lee cause things happen and Carlos has been doing really good, but bad baserunning I don't excuse at least not too often, especially on a play like that. Still hell of a game, too bad it was a loss, but its huge to shutdown the best offense in the majors.

Kip Wells Outduels Dontrelle
Another stellar start by the Kipster. Isn't that the 2nd time he's outdueled the young Marlin lefty. Either way, way to go Kip. You'll always be one of my favorite Sox.

Drew Henson to go back to NFL
Agreed. Joey B has had made a lot of adjustments already, but nothing can make up for playing full time as a kid and Joe never did that. He seems to be making strides in Charlotte and I'd say he has a shot to stick with a club next season, although he may find himself in Charlotte for almost the full year. After taht, pencil him in next to Reed and most likely Maggs. I'd say they could pay Maggs depending on what happens. Maggs is so good at this point and I think he'll only get better. He's the definition of a franchise guy and that should be a great defensive outfield and a very productive offensive one.

Prospect Hot Sheet Finale!
Probably Everett's roster spot and Borchard will take Harris' or vice versa.

New Toronto Blue Jays logo
I think their current one is pretty cool.

Prospect Hot Sheet Finale!
Way to go Jeremy. I look forward to the day when he's romping the outfield at the cell. He's gonna be good.
