  1. Probably an online sports book that way you'd get the point spread and all that. Otherwise, most papers on Friday and Saturday have a small section with the odds and games. I'd just make a bunch of copies of that. LA TIMES does it, you could check the online site and see if they have it there as well.
  2. Plus bittner isn't really a big time prospect, imo. He could definately turn it on, but he's a fringe guy at this point in time. West has a very high ceiling, but injuries obviously have bothered him to the point that he wants to pursue something else.
  3. Well the roster expansion comes this weekend and I'm sure the Sox will call up a few guys. My guesses are Paniagua, Ginter, Munoz/Sanders, Jamie Burke and possibly Joe Borchard, although I highly doubt the Sox call up any outfielders. Jon Rauch is another possibility.

Folks...this isn't going to hurt the team unless in fact there was an insurrection over Buehrle not starting. I think the only reason people didn't want Cotts starting was because Buehrle, the proven ace, wanted to go and he was on his normal rest. The thing had nothing to do with Cotts. I've already noticed Buehrle has been mentoring Neal or at least it looks that way, which is a GREAT thing, imo. And I like to see the team sticking up for one of their players, even if it is against a manager. The key is, the players need to put it behind them. I think they will do exactly that. No manager goes through an entire season without taking some heat at one point or another. I'm sure Baker has heard some crap from his players in regards to Estes continually starting, it just hasnt' been leaked. And as far as this hurting Cotts, I've siad it once but I'll say it one more time. This kid is tough. He has got into many jams in his young major league career, but never have I seen that deer in the headlights look. The guy just goes back to business and is confident and I got not doubt this butt kicking will make him a better pitcher, not a worse one. If this game was gonna ruin his career, then it isn't a career that would be going anywhere, imo. Cotts is gonna be a good pitcher, and like all good pitchers he's gonna go through some struggles, but in the end they will make him much better.

I'm pleased with 2 out of 3. Ya they could of swept, but they could of also lost with Buehrle on the mound. It was still a great series and now its time for the Sox to look onto Detroit cause they need to focus at the task at hand and play every game with their full attention.
  6. Damn is all I could say.
  7. Done...I tried to think of something else, but I don't know if you want Graphics Guru or something like that on the side.
  8. Done and Done...it seems very fitting.
  9. Nope, can't stand the Trojans although I may end up going there if I can't get into Stanford (Aka, there is a decent shot I'll be going to USC or UCLA). UCLA is my local team and I like the Irish and Hawkeyes as well.

    Agreed
  11. Sometimes you do it to get another player through. You try to trick teams into you just sending guys through, hoping that you can sneak a guy by.

I was thinking, if they plan on not using Cotts as a starter the rest of the way, then they'd use Wright in the rotation and the signing of Paniagua was so he could enter the bullpen and would be on the playoff roster if Koch didn't come back.
  13. I bashed West very hard in a prior Top 50 list. He took offense to it, etc etc etc. I've been harsh on West too. Main reason I'm a critic of his was because I thought he had a lot of potential.
  14. Shields would be a really nice pickup.
  15. Nice Hustle Sandy. Olivo pinch runs for Sandy who seemed to of rolled an ankle hustling down the line. Roberto strikes out. He chased the first pitch in the dirt. Poor at bat, imo. Come on Carlos...short quick swing.
  16. Buehrle is an ace, but no one can say indefinately what would of happened. Right now the Sox got to worry about finishing todays' game strong and pulling out a sweep (I still got faith) and then going into Detroit and playing them with 200% effort. If Buehrle wasn't feeling good, then putting him out there wouldn't of been wise either.
  17. One question though...how is he eligible since he's received money as a professional athlete. It it simply because he earned it playing another sport? Yup, see Chris Wienke and others who went back and played NCAA football, after playing in the minors. Ya, I remembered him when I was typing it. I also remember this kid at Colorado who was a professional snowboarder and they said he'd have to quit during his time at the Unviversity if he wanted to play football. I thought it was a bunch of crap, since he wasn't making money on the collegiate sport he was playing. For pete sakes it was a job that the kid had. Ya, he was an athlete, but he wasn't making the money as a football player.
  18. The one thing is...if the Sox come back today and then win tomorrow the outcome is the same. Buehrle could of lost today and Cotts could of lost yesterday. Its so hard to tell. The Sox handled this wrong, but for starting go with the better pitcher as long as he feels right. If he doesn't, then thats that and go with Cotts. He's a quality youngster. Ya he struggled but s*** happens. Rocket and Boomer struggled too.

If Buehrle really was laboring, then I don't see the problem in the call...its the way they handled it that I disagree with. If you don't know...shut up about it.
  20. One question though...how is he eligible since he's received money as a professional athlete. It it simply because he earned it playing another sport?
  21. Wow. I wonder if West was pitching hurt (Before he went on the DL) cause over the past year to year and a half his numbers have constantly gotten worse. The guy is big though so I wish him luck at football.
  22. I didn't touch a thing..will take a look at it though. Another bug that needs to be fixed.

What exactly happened in the game that has made everyone so pissed off at Neal anyway? I just know 5 runs were scored. I'm assuming he walked into some jams?
  24. Their is one reason this move could turn really stupid and thats because its creating news and stirring up the pot. Why the hell do the Sox need a controversy like this when they are playing good baseball. Keep this players motivated Jerry...cause they are definately gonna need that motivation/focus when they go into Detroit. I think all of us know how they've done against the lesser teams, especially on the road.
