    I'm definately in.
  2. The wasting an option on him is the only negative. Neal got to come up to the majors and experience it. No, he wasn't as sucessful as he'd of liked to be or as the Sox wanted him to be or as the fans wanted him to be, but it isn't a naught cause. Now Neal knows exactly what he has to do to get better and if he's gonna be sucessful, which I think he is, he's got to just work and work and work and get better and better. He'll help the Barons over the stretch run and then throw a few innings in the AFL, something I am kind of against, other then the fact they are teaching him a cutter, which I like. IF it were me, I'd start limiting his innings now, since they plan on using him in winter ball.
  3. Can anyone give me an update?

Geeze, don't ever scare the s*** out of me like that again. I hope Maggs is alright.
  5. If its not during a game then whats it matter. It would be like a golfer carrying extra clubs in his bag during a training match. Its not like he's cheating during the game or something. Plus its not like the effect from using an aluminum bat carries over (ie...the extra power gained). Then again this is coming from MLB who will fine a player if they wear their cap backwards during warmups.

    Yeah, Spiff lives there. Lol
  7. Crede is I think best in the AL in August or at least he was two days a go. He has also homered in 4 of 6 games. Plus his average is hovering right around .260 and considering what it was at, it shows just how much he's improved over the 2nd half of the season.
  8. This is really stupid considering there is nothing professional about this. It would be like saying MLB players couldn't use tennis balls to practice if they wanted to. MLB...stay the hell out of it.
  9. Great to see that unclassy Yankee organization at its best.
  10. I can't see the image, but I think its 150 x 150 and when you upload the avatar you can upload it right on this server.
  11. Good stuff and those were great comments from Buerhle. Thats basically how I see things. Players just need to bounce up around Cotts and cheer him up.
  12. Whoever mentioned Coop was talking about Brian Cooper.
  13. Very good article.
  14. Probably an online sports book that way you'd get the point spread and all that. Otherwise, most papers on Friday and Saturday have a small section with the odds and games. I'd just make a bunch of copies of that. LA TIMES does it, you could check the online site and see if they have it there as well.
  15. Plus bittner isn't really a big time prospect, imo. He could definately turn it on, but he's a fringe guy at this point in time. West has a very high ceiling, but injuries obviously have bothered him to the point that he wants to pursue something else.
  16. Well the roster expansion comes this weekend and I'm sure the Sox will call up a few guys. My guesses are Paniagua, Ginter, Munoz/Sanders, Jamie Burke and possibly Joe Borchard, although I highly doubt the Sox call up any outfielders. Jon Rauch is another possibility.

Folks...this isn't going to hurt the team unless in fact there was an insurrection over Buehrle not starting. I think the only reason people didn't want Cotts starting was because Buehrle, the proven ace, wanted to go and he was on his normal rest. The thing had nothing to do with Cotts. I've already noticed Buehrle has been mentoring Neal or at least it looks that way, which is a GREAT thing, imo. And I like to see the team sticking up for one of their players, even if it is against a manager. The key is, the players need to put it behind them. I think they will do exactly that. No manager goes through an entire season without taking some heat at one point or another. I'm sure Baker has heard some crap from his players in regards to Estes continually starting, it just hasnt' been leaked. And as far as this hurting Cotts, I've siad it once but I'll say it one more time. This kid is tough. He has got into many jams in his young major league career, but never have I seen that deer in the headlights look. The guy just goes back to business and is confident and I got not doubt this butt kicking will make him a better pitcher, not a worse one. If this game was gonna ruin his career, then it isn't a career that would be going anywhere, imo. Cotts is gonna be a good pitcher, and like all good pitchers he's gonna go through some struggles, but in the end they will make him much better.

I'm pleased with 2 out of 3. Ya they could of swept, but they could of also lost with Buehrle on the mound. It was still a great series and now its time for the Sox to look onto Detroit cause they need to focus at the task at hand and play every game with their full attention.
  19. Damn is all I could say.
  20. Done...I tried to think of something else, but I don't know if you want Graphics Guru or something like that on the side.
  21. Done and Done...it seems very fitting.
  22. Nope, can't stand the Trojans although I may end up going there if I can't get into Stanford (Aka, there is a decent shot I'll be going to USC or UCLA). UCLA is my local team and I like the Irish and Hawkeyes as well.

    Agreed
  24. Sometimes you do it to get another player through. You try to trick teams into you just sending guys through, hoping that you can sneak a guy by.
