  1. Well Nanita has like a 20 game hitting streak (14th rounder) and he's looking like an absolute steal.
  2. Dang, sounds like the Sox are doing this really good. I think that they'll only be able to land one of Veal/Moviel but hell this is looking like a damn good draft.
  3. Its fair game. Anyone and everyone is allowed in.
  4. My goodness did the Marlins over pay. Like I say I'd rather have Scott Shields.
  5. The O's turned down a Konerko for Ponson deal straight up cause they want a decent prospect in return. Give them Ginter and hardball them and you may get the deal done. You want a reliever, then give them Glover as well.
  6. Glover needs to throw some innings. After this instance you have to think that they will be calling someone up to pitch in Saturday's game.
  7. I don't disagree with your assesment with him. I do think he has potential though. Since the Sox have been interested in Ponson I have always backed that idea.
  8. Or Scott Shields of the Angels. Shields is awesome.
  9. Possibly a good idea. However i cringe at having a guy go to the pen, especially in the closers role, who cannot locate his pitches. I am not saying he should become the closer immediately, but use him in the seventh inning or so. He would become the closer next year if the Sox decide to trade Koch and of course if he proved his worth. I'd let Koch, Gordon, Marte handle the eighth and ninth. And let me say if the Sox could do a Konerko plus prospect for Ponson deal then I'd be more then willing to do that too. I'd rather do that to be honest.
  10. I do think now is a great time to moev him to the pen where I feel he will be very sucessful. Ponson and a reliever would be so awesome. Use Lee and a prospect or two as bait. Ponson and the reliever would be long term solutions. Sign Ponson for around 5 mill a year, then you let Colon walk yet still have a damn good rotation and a heck of a bullpen.
  11. I have to agree. Sometimes Danny has the most movement in his bad outings. His fastballs cut in and go out they can go any which way. The problem is he can't control the movement and falls behind hitters A LOT. Once Danny falls behind or gets a couple runners on base is when he can get in big trouble because of his control. He can also get out of those jams quite often because of that stuff. Still, he really needs to work on control.
  12. 26 decisions is definately a ton. Last year was his first season (You could call it a full season) and then this would be his second year. I say between the two they work out to around a year and a half. In my mind when a guy is rushed you got to wait 3 years before things happen. In that time period you need to see improvement and I've seen that from Danny. Last year prior to the injury he was improving every start. This year he has done pretty good as of late (Minus his last start or I think it was his last start). Coming back from an injury definately drops him back cause with arm injuries it really takes a while to get back into a rhythm.
  13. In my mind Wright has tremendous stuff. He has great movement on his fastball (Its also very hard) and he has one of the better knuckle curves in the game. Stuff wise he's better then Buehrle, but that just shows stuff doesn't mean everything. You still have to know how to pitch (Change speeds, have control, etc) and if you can do that you don't need a great fastball or curve.
  14. The big thing with PK is he's over-paid. Sox are giving this guy 8 mill a year long term and when your not paying big bucks they can't afford that. You move that contract then they could sign a top notch shortstop (Matsui or Tejada) and maybe just maybe at a pretty good reliever in the offseason. I'd take that over Konerko who could be replaced much easier then finding a very good shortstop.
  15. We all have to remember one thing. Wright went from a mediocre college pitcher to the majors in an incredibly short time. This guy really is still learning at the majors. This is also his first full season (Although he was out for a while with the injury). There is no way the Sox should give up on him or Garland. I still think Ponson would be an awesome pickup, but his value goes up every day the Sox wait.
  16. My lineup would be one without Carlos Lee. Just trade him and let Konerko and Daubach platoon at Dh with Daubbie ocassionally playing left field.
  17. Kip would look damn good in a White Sox uni.
  18. Agreed. PK can still turn things around. Right now I'd say that Carlos Lee is the guy I want moved. Then the Sox can have Everett and Daubbie in left while they rotate with Konerko at DH with Thomas playing first 70% of the time. Harris and Rowand will split time in center. Against lefties Aaron and Konerko would play every time and most likely Everett would play over Daubach while Graffy would play for either Alomar or Valentin every time they played a lefty.
  19. Jason, would you say that Wright doesn't have enough pitches to be a starter? I think I've heard people say that before, but never knew how true that statement was. Wright has two types of fastballs and the knuckle curve. I'm not sure what else he throws, but I also think I've seen him use some change-ups this year. To me thats enough pitches, but it really depends on the quality of them. When he throws strikes he's pretty much un-hittable and he has tons of stamina. I love the fastball (One cuts in one cuts out) as well as the knuckle curve. I'm trying to think if he throws a slider and he may very well, but off the top of my mind I remember it as being something he throws once in a great while. Move him to the pen and he'll be a stud. In the rotation I think he could turn into one, but its a lot more of a risk. Either way I don't want him going anywhere. Teams don't hit him.
  20. I just hope the next lineup Jerry makes is as a fan.
  21. Dontrell is fun to watch. Glad to see him make the game.
  22. Wright has tremendous stuff, he doesn't have great control. I also concur that this lineup is horrible.
  23. Well I guess I'm jumping in on this one late. I'm sorry for Koch and YASNY who are at work and had this come up. I didn't pay any attention to this thread until I saw that it was locked so I figured something happened. Anyway, from now on if someone posts something like this go with what Spiff said and put Not Work Safe. On a sidenote, I'll go on to say that one thing that isn't ever tolerated on these boards is porn. There are plenty of places on the net for that and this isn't one of them. Anyway, lets all take 2 or 3 deep breaths and move on to getting pissed off at the White Sox play. Hope everyone has a good weekend
  24. Very good article. I've had these belief for quite some time. Williams is going all out to win and I think with all the moves he has made he has to try everything to win and to me that last thing he has left to do is to can Manuel.
